I used a combo of your written pattern and this video and was successful! Beautiful cloth. I found the first few rows the most challenging with my cotton, but once we started working into the clusters it was really simple and went quick after that. Thanks so much!!

Thank you for this lovely tutorial. I made this cloth and it turned out super cute. I’m still kind of new to crocheting so I have one question. The sides that aren’t the top and bottom parts..were yours neet so you could sc down them easily? I had to guess where mine went bc my sides were messy. There was no real place to put my hook lol. I hope this made sense.
It totally makes sense and is something i still struggle with - i would go slow and check every 10 rows or so to see how it looks - rip out and go back if it is stretching or puckering. Hope this helps

I do not care for worsted weight cotton for dishcloths. It’s just too heavy. It takes too long to dry. I prefer DK weight cotton yarn. Do you think that would translate with this pattern?
Do you knit? And if so, did you learn to knit before crocheting? The reason I ask- I crochet like you do, in the manner of using your left hand to throw the yarn over the hook. It seems somewhat unusual in the crochet community online, and a tiny bit slower? (Instead of using the hook itself to grab the yarn). I thought it was just a personal quirk in how I learned to crochet (from books, so many decades ago :) But I recently ran across a comment somewhere that mentioned this being a knitter's move- and that made perfect sense :)

The only problem is, is that if I flub up I have a hard time fixing it :-) a lot of people seem to be mentioning lately about my hand movements and the way I wrap my yarn. It’s so funny. I like your voice, and you have very pretty hands, but for some reason the way you flip the yarn around with your hands constantly moving like that just distracts me and I stopped watching. It is a beautiful stitch and a beautiful dish rag. Thank you.
i had to zoom and rewatch ends of rows multiple times because she seemed more concerned about how she looked rather than showing the placement of the hook. It was frustrating. I finally gave up.

I wish you’d give better explanation of what you are doing and why. It felt like watchers were left high and dry trying to navigate the sides during the finishing rows. It’s clear you understand the process, but I thought tutorials were to teach the process to others. Very disappointed.
Hmmm, seems pretty clear to me. Perhaps you just need to stop the video after she says "continue on until the end of the row" and then pay closer attention to the remainder of the video that shows how to complete the last stitch, chain 1 and turn your work. 👍
A multiple of 3 + 1 would be 28 chains (9*3=27), not 29. Should this actually be multiple of 3 plus 2?

So…a “long double crochet” is not worked any differently than a regular double crochet, is that correct?

Try using Clover Amour hooks for cotton yarn. That might help.

I would use 100% cotton yarn not worsted. Beautiful pattern.

When you are doing a tutorial you should put the skill level down. So people that don't know how to crochet will know what level your tutorial is.
