The wait was over! What a night!!! THANK YOU Sammy, Mike, Joe and Jason for playing 5150 and all the songs that we as VH fans haven't heard in years! That was AWESOME!
I've seen VH 7 times since 1984. This show was just plain awesome; a tribute, not a VH cover band. Everyone had their own spin on things and it sounded amazing.
First time i've actually checked this entire thing out. Joe seems to be pulling it off quite well, ..at least on this. I could see the 5150 stuff being the most up his alley and closest to his own style. The solo was great,...as if... :) Also, just immediate when hearing Anthony doing the backup vocals instantly makes it sound like it should. Key ingredient.
Satriani can play any style with his fantastic talent, but yes, obviously some styles are closer to his heart (no Rush pun intended). I’d guess the challenge for this tour is how to fuse his style with Eddie’s so that he delivers an authentic performance of VH, but expressed through him. The Eddie worshippers will decry anything not exactly like him; the Satch worshippers will yell at the opposite extreme. Joe’s a pro and a humble man, so I think he’ll succeed.
@@andrewgraulich6602 Def can pull it all off, and in this situation must pull it off or negate your legacy. Not gonna lie though i don't wanna hear any DLR era VH out of this. Maybe Jamie's Crying or Running With the Devil, but i don't think they are trying to do that. Sammie is great Dave is the greatest and don't touch it.
@@andrewgraulich6602Joe is a very humble bumble as I met him at a meet and greet as he took plenty of time to talk to my friend and I without rushing us through and signing autographs only.🎸🎼
One of my all favorite songs, not only from VH but o all time. When this masterpiece album came out I remember rewinding this on cassette over and over. Some many wonderful memories. See you all in Dallas!
Incredible performance of really great music! Thanks to Sammy, Mike, Joe & Jason for doing this! And Mikey’s bass playing is STILL a driving force. Coupled with Jason they’re an incredible rhythm section. Sammy asks if we’re happy?? Damn straight! Rock on boys 🤘🏻
Idk how VH fans can hate Sammy era...He has many good songs he made with them...Yes a completely different band, but nonetheless, awesome! Joe played amazing.
Very awesome, you’d never know EVH was not playing, Sach you can tell is doing everything to make sure he represents EVH properly, so cool just wish it was EVH
Joe did a killer job,on a very complex song that Eddie Van Halen wrote on guitar.most guitarists (including myself) have aspired to nail this riff.and as far as Michael Anthony,HE WAS THE VOICE OF VAN HALEN..Michael's background vocals are just as pivotal as Sammy"s is.without Michael Anthony the overall ambience of the song wouldnt exist.sammy did a great job assembling this band for this tour.we love you Sammy,Michael, joe and Jason.🤟🤟
Only for 6-8 years when he was battling cancer and drinking and doing drugs because he just didn't give a fuck anymore. He finally got sober, but the damage was already done. I worry about Alex. He's not taking it so well.
Eddie had a hole in his ass like everyone else. Many people have called each of us an asshole whether we know it or not. You've done stuff too brother. Chill.
Everyone was loving every second of this show. Band, crowd, everyone. What a great time.
The chic side stage!!!
She knows word for word!!!
I always Loved 5150!!!
The chic is Sammy’s wife. She should know the lyrics.
She's got great seats lol

5150 gave me chills. It was tough to record, and not watch with my eyes. I needed to have it forever though
@@smashmachine1144 This guy 5150's. The faithful understand what that song means to some of us.

Agreed. This show definitely exceeded my expectations. I saw the 5150 tour twice back in the day and thought this show was awesome
Not only are the fans winning on this tour but, you can tell the band is having a great time.
Satch actually sounds pretty good on this number.

@@chickenbeek I watched the vid of a VA show, and there was some DLR (Panama, Jump), but well mixed with many others, incl Satch's work.

@@donaldconfalone2410 Great to hear he’s like that, which is what I imagined.

It’s my favorite album of all time!
100% agree! This song is #1 for me during the Sammy era!
I'm drawing a blank.....was this a radio hit or just a gem off the cassette we all loved?
@@asharry1 It was on 5150
@@asharry1 I do not recal it being played on the radio as much as the other popular ones. Could be wrong.
One of the greatest VH tunes of all time...Joe does great...one of the toughest songs to try to sound great on too!!!
This was the highlight of an amazing night. Everyone nailed this song! 76 yesr old front man abd 70 yr old bassist/vocalists. This is insane.
Love It! So damn good. This and Amsterdam are probably my favorite VH songs. I'm so glad the guys did this tour.
Very special night , thank you for keeping this music alive and rocking!!
Amazing memories of listening to Van Halen
with a friend
or all by my lonesome
🤟🏻
What an epic show. So glad my buddies dragged me there. Thanks guys.
That’s what true friends are for..
🎸⚡️🎸⚡️
I hope they release a DVD Digital version of the show to watch!
Same here. They should!
if they do hopefully they overdub the vocals
Great vid. Thanks for sharing. Love the chemistry between Sammy, Michael and Joe.
killer, killer rendition of 5150!! The band is kicking ass
I've heard a few other performances with Sammy singing this song and its terrielbe but he seems to be on point with this performance. Sounds good.
Eddie is smiling down on this and rocking it out with them.
That was absolutely KILLER!!!!!
No comment on Joe the guy is a gift from the gods incredible playing skills.
That was a comment and I like it!
Thank you so much for sharing these videos! I attended that show also!
I saw Joe too and after about 3 songs it sounded like the soundtrack to a video game...
76 and still kicking ass…. True legend
Amazing

I was there Friday night and they kicked ass..❤
Amazing show. I'll never forget it
Nice! 🤩
Was there too! Great night!
That solo was kickass!
It's now officially 5150 time!

I totally agree!

I think we all do. Eddie was the king.
😅
I have to disagree. Joe is a great player, but EVH was on a different level entirely. Even Joe would admit that.
Rocking like they’re still in New Haven in ‘86! This is awesome!!!
That’s New Halen, lol
Jason Bonham has a drumset like Alex Van Halen now? I never seen that? Sounds awesome to me!
This is pissing me off, wish I'd seen the show. Nice catch - thanks for the video!
Thanks Guys!!!
I was there
I was. It was a great show.
Love how loud Michael Anthony's voice is in the mix here.
Rai Thistlethwayte is adding a lot to the background vocals as well. He gets up their pretty high and he is a decent singer by any measure.
GO JOE!!
1/2 of Van Halen + a 1/4 Led Zeppelin progeny and Joe M'F'N Satriani = an explosively awesome concert! So glad I made this show.
Not even close.

Don't leave Rai Thistlethwayt out of the mix. He did an amazing job on all the VH songs with keyboards
lame solo
Spot on Couldn't have said better myself
Rai Thistlethwayte is definitely helping Mike and Sammy out on the background vocals.
I saw Satch on his Flying in a blue dream tour. He's lost a lot of hair since then, but still a great player.
At least he can still sing. David is done.
Dave can really talk thoughout a song.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
iZ this Mikey eats cereal with Milk 😂🎉
S A T C H ! ! !
Sounds Like Van Halen once again thanks to Mikey in the background. Eddie was a genius songwriter but was a total asshole. Sorry folks

What a classy remark. Congratulations.
