Great review! One this I noticed while watching was the constant camera movement, which got annoying over time. Camera movement is good, but not his much :)

great vid guys.. prob a very late note.. but any modifications to the look menu will burn into any pro res footage. which im sure you prob know by now but just for those new players.
Absolutely Great Video. Lots of good information and I liked the detail you went through. The closeups and slower pace made it better to understand. Great presentation and speed. Thanks so much for doing this. I would suggest not doing the slider, it's too distracting.

Case body of the camera does not affect the quality of the image - it's the CMOS sensor, lenses, other hardware and software.

I really appreciate this content, you've balanced the technical level very well! Could you make a test with the OLPFs? You said it can change the image drastically, I would love to see that :)
Why did you cut the building up the camera sequence? Isn't that part of the point here? You started to to do and then just cut. This should have included booting up the camera. It started off very granular and then just jumped.

Please, anybody know the name of that COILED monitor cable on the RED camera???
Is there a focus peaking setting? I'm using one for a film project at uni and as in my final year we've jumped from using Black Magic Ursa to a RED Dragon. I can my hands on it again in a few days but other than eye balling it through the monitor, how can I tell my shot is in focus? Everything online to do with false colour is all about exposure and not focus.

Yes! You are able to load your own custom LUTs in to the camera. And as well, it does have an internal scratch microphone on the front of the body!
Is there any vid showing how to Load them in? I've found multiple sources saying you can't load in 3D LUT's but you can load in "looks". I'm kinda lost with this.

If I wanted to extract RAW image stills from video footage, would I use HDRX? Could I set a the low exposure monitor track to 1/125 (for non-blurry still photos) and the high to 1/48 (for 180degree shutter for 23.98fps for consistent film look/ video recording). Would I then set the factor to 6? or is that not relevant? I've only used HDRX when filming a scene to set exposure to high for windows and low for interiors.
You can use HDRX for stills extraction the same way you would extract a still from non hdrx. The factor setting will affect your y track and how much it compensates for exposure. I don't believe you can change the shutter angle for the 2 individual tracks separately though.

you said this video was for "amateurs" , BUT you start off with nothing on the camera, then scene change to a "fully built rig", that's also powered on and on a tripod,
HOW DID you get there????????- so much for "after this video, anyone off the street can use this camera, even if you haven't touched a red before", at least I would be scared to death to even touch it, with such minimal and obscure instructions.
