- With the latest Rockstar launcher update, Rockstar has added marketing string to it's launcher. Hinting towards an announcement for the game finally making its way to PC.

Just play it on yuzu with reality redemption mod. You can even play it with kbm.

If I remember correctly Xbox never got a version released as it was already there through backwards compatibility and it already had a 4K boost update. PlayStation and switch got a port and eventually PlayStation got a 60FPS update to it while the Xbox never got it since there isn’t a set Xbox one version. Hopefully they update that when the pc version comes out or at least give Xbox users a upgrade path to a new version that has the 60FPS
One thing that sucks is that if they do, we would be losing features by upgrading. The Xbox version still has multiplayer, this port does not.
@@Khloya69 that’s why if there is an upgrade it would just an extra copy that’s separate so if you want to play the Multiplayer you can play the other version.

@@Zanoladab that doesn’t change the fact that mouse and keyboard controls are clunckier compared to controller in modern Rockstar games (GTA IV and newer). The games are also build for console first and PC last.

RDR1 has been back compatible on the XB1/XB Series for years and was never ported to the console like it was for the PS4/5 and Nintendo Switch

I mean, Red Dead Redemption 1 is cool and all, but I rather hear a Red Dead Redemption 2 next gen upgrade for consoles. I understand that the PC is basically the "next gen" version, but I feel like a release of RDR2 for next gen consoles would be amazing for the players and Take2. I've played the PC version and it runs and looks so much better. On console would be amazing
O please this has to be a joke for years it's been on console and those with Yuzu can play RDR 1 with keyboard and mouse and with Lossless Scaling (it's a utility software) the game is then at 60fps

There were supposedly changes were made daily without documentation, so a PC port was not the focus at that point - also since RDR1 used a customised version of "ERB2" - probably codename for RAGE Engine iterations (which GTAIV and the DLCs used) with some features ERB3 used in its final form, which the focus of ERB2 was probably more towards the Xbox 360 version of the game. It was only by 2011, when Rockstar San Diego made some advancements in the RAGE engine to fully support PC and newer consoles, and that was ERB3, which Max Payne 3 and GTAV used. So probably the only way for them to make a PC port is to transfer the game to ERB3, which would take some effort. However, they either may had found a workaround for that problem, and they did actually port the game to ERB3 (which may be a reason and why the game got a Switch/PS4 port).

No GTA+ on PC
Uff a PC Version is good but the only reason we never got a PC Version in the first place was how sadly horrible the PC Port of GTA IV was and still is
but nowadays it is easy to run GTA IV with high frame rates even on low end PC's, just use DXVK which is 4 or 5 mb file and it runs the game in Vulkan instead of Dx9 and stabilizes the performance issues. I have gtx 980m laptop and using DXVK the game runs at 70-80 fps maxed out in 1080p.
GTA IV PC port had nothing to do with RDR1 never coming to PC.
@kesik93 ofc it had. GTA IV uses the same engine as RDR1 and GTA IV was not optimized at all. RDR1 would received the same fate
@@MauriceGS GTA IV was simply too much to handle for the hardware at the time, physics in Gta IV were miles ahead of Gta IV. Red dead redemption is mostly empty desert, no vehicles etc.
@@MauriceGS Porting games to different platforms and game's engines don't work like that. One game being unoptimised doesn't mean that another game on the vey same engine also would be unoptimised.

@@mertenes6587 Textures are not scripts, they don't need Scripthook, what's really needed for that is a tool for modders to unpack/pack the game's data

Sweet. Haven't played this game since Xbox 360 and I've never played Undead Nightmare.
Specs wise I think it will be similar and but better performance than GTA IV both made on same generation Rage engine.

Just for the record, there is no such thing as a PC port. All games are developed/made on PC's in their entirety and even tested on PC, then they are ported to console. It would be very difficult to develop a game on a console and then port it to PC. It's a PC release, not a PC port.
And if this leak's theory is true, what's the point of a PC release when every PC player is just going to use a controller instead of a mouse and keyboard anyway? Might as well not even release it unless it is going to be a complete remake of RDR1, which it won't be knowing Take-Two Interactive's budget allowance for old games.

We want RDR1 as DLC for RDR2. So the game is in the new engine. The entire map is already in the game. And the Apocalyptic horses would make a great Online cashgrab for them. And we finally had a small DLC for online.
As an stand alone game, R* can put it, where the sun not shining. Don't do the same crap like the trilogy remastered. That was a bad joke...
RDR as a RDR2 DLC isn’t exactly what anyone would ever expect and it’s illogic to demand it.

Both games have their own art directions. RDR2's art direction does not go in hand with RDR1's one, even if they use the same map. So RDR1 would actually need its own remake. Additionally, it should be noted that some people favor particular mechanics in RDR1 over RDR2, such as the ragdoll physics and other gameplay elements.

It'll be good for low end users like me still using a GTX 1650...as they'll be able to run the game at 60 FPS or more... since it's essentially just a 13/14 Year Old Game

I think there can be two possibilities, either rockstar announces the port before the investor call and releases the game this week since it is the 14th anniversary of the original release, or they announce the game on the 14th anniversary of the original release and release the port on the anniversary of last year's port.

I find Ryujinx (Nintendo Switch emulator) better for performance and also mouse and keyboard support, due to a CheatEngine script made by someone for the emulator to support mouse and keyboard.
