I just added a note, but I just remembered what my husband who was a teacher always said. Make friends with the cafeteria ladies, and the janitor. They will always be there for you.
I absolutely love how you use your teaching skills on your channel. They most likely served you well in your career…and they are still serving you well.
Yes, Melissa! We had cinnamon rolls on chili day. It was a bowl of chili, a piece of cheese toast, celery and carrot sticks, milk, and a cinnamon roll! Tom, I, too, remember the lunch ladies fondly. When you walked in and smelled yeast rolls, you knew it was going to be a good day. 😊 By the way, my school days were 1966 - 1978. Yes, I'm old. The elementary school was Somerville Road Elementary, the middle school was Oak Park middle school and the high school was Decatur High school in Decatur, Alabama. You two would be proud I've been very conscientious while writing this, I knew I'd be graded. 😂
Our daughter is a baker and always makes her cinnamon rolls whenever we all get together. It's become a traditional occurrence that we would not let her out of. Thank goodness she loves making them for us. She always brings them unbaked and the first morning we wake up together, we put them in the oven and the smell is fabulous. What a great memory for everyone to hold on to for years to come.
What a wonderful tradition, Warren! I love that. I’m sure your daughter is thrilled to create her cinnamon rolls for the family. Thanks for watching our videos.
Tom and Melissa, I made these cinnamon rolls this afternoon, from start to finish including the two rises it took about 3 hours but it was worth it! The recipe is very easy to prepare. I did notice when I watched the video again while they were baking that Tom added 1-tsp of vanilla to the icing, but that ingredient was not included in the icing recipe. Making the 12 rolls I only needed a 1/2 cup of the heavy cream. To those who may think that adding the cream would make the rolls soggy which was my concern, the rolls came out fluffy and moist and were not soggy at all. The bread flour does make all the difference in the world. This is now my go to recipe for cinnamon rolls. I also added lots of cinnamon. Thank you so much!!
I also noticed the recipe called for 4 Tablespoons of whole milk but in the video Tom says 6 Tablespoons.. Which is correct? Sounds like a wonderful recipe & I’d like to make it for Christmas brunch with the family.
When I was much younger, I used to make cinnamon rolls for my colleagues at work. I would make them the night before, but I'd pop the pan in the refrigerator to complete the 2nd rise overnight. I also made the icing the night before and stored it in the refrigerator in a large ziplock bag. I'd wake up, pull them from the refrigerator, and bake them. I'd transport them uncovered while still screaming hot from the oven. Once I got to work, I'd cut the corner of the bag and squeeze the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls. They were never any leftovers!
My husband’s mother was a great cook! She made the yeast rolls and I wanted to please my hubby! So… I learned to make them but my mother in law never made cinnamon rolls. I always take her roll recipe and made the cinnamon rolls. We have been married 55 years this October and my husband loves loves yeast rolls… the lighter the better and he said he has even sneaked the raw dough and eaten it!!! But I say yuck on that one!!! 😳 I enjoy watching you all and often think… my how wonderful it should be for your wife to have your help in the kitchen!! I love and enjoy cooking but it would be nice from time to time to just sit back and let someone else do the cooking!! Keep up the good work and may you be blessed with many more years of cooking!
I love watching, listening to, and learning from your process each time. When you were pouring the cream over the rolls before placing them in the oven, I kept urging you to go ahead and use it all. I think I could have eaten them without the frosting, but I do love cream cheese frosting on a cinnamon roll. As a fellow educator, I love hearing your stories. School cinnamon rolls were a big hit in my high school, and also at the school where I taught (I'm part of the education staff in a female correctional facility now). Like you, I made friends with the cafeteria staff, usually during lunch duty time, and it's amazing the extra things that come your way when you get to know those great ladies. Truly appreciate today's video.
Tom, I have a problem with vanilla. I ALWAYS add more than the recipe says. These look fantastic! Thanks for another great video! Melissa, you always do a great job filming. Thank You too!
Thank you Tom and Melissa for sharing my recipe. I am glad you loved them. I've added the chocolate chips before also. They are awesome. I get more bc I use the smaller scoop. I told my husband you shared my recipe online and he wanted to know where his cookies were. Lol God Bless Y'all.
Thanks for sharing your yummy looking rolls. I would suggest that you and your listeners go to Bo Jangles located in Kalispel, Montana. (worth the trip) They only serve them on Saturday mornings. My daughter, a nurse at the big hospital there, took me and family to have breakfast. So, so good and with pecans, oh man! With your recipe and instruction, I have a chance to make my Saturday mornings special here in Alaska.
This is wonderful, Traveling Tuesday's. I will enjoy every video. I appreciate your love for life and the good taste of good food. Be safe and happy travels.
My husband and I both love cinnamon rolls. When I was an elementary student, our lunch ladies were the BEST! Our cinnamon rolls were served on chili day, too. These cinnamon rolls were so good the ladies would make them to sell at basketball games. And they always sold out! Thanks for bringing that memory to mind. I so enjoy your videos. Thank you!😊
I was in Nashville, IN about 60 years ago, we went there to go fossil hunting. I don’t remember seeing the cinnamon roll shop, but lunch at the “general store” was outstanding. You are right, it is a really a charming town. Unfortunately at the age of 92 my travel days are unfortunately over. I truly enjoy your show. God bless.
Oh Tom, I was so glad to see you change that filling. I love to make Cinnamon rolls and I always spread my butter first, then I add brown sugar and Cinnamon. I have never used the heavy cream so will absolutely try that. Looks so yummy. And I definitely use more Cinnamon
I tried your cinnamon roll recipe today. Being 72 1/2 I impressed myself.I accomplished it. Was proud that this being my only time of ever making cinnamon rolls. My sister is the cinnamon roll maker in our family. She gave me a gold star.Thank you for this easy recipe.
I made these last Thursday. Oh my goodness they are the best I’ve ever made. Thank you for sharing this recipe. I believe the cream takes them over the top.
You are one of the best teachers “explainers” that I have ever seen!!! You and Melissa do a great job!!! Don’t ever quit!!!! I have made several of your recipes and love them all!!!

My career was in school food service, the bulk of my time was managing an elementary school. For 2 years I did bread making classes; one class a week after my work day ended. I had one class a week come into the kitchen, students washed hands and put on hairnets. I started with a display of various wheat berries, then demonstrated how to mill those berries into flour. Students saw the yeast bloom then helped to measure and mix the dough. I had a batch of dough ready that I’d made earlier in the day which I used to show them how versatile the dough was by making cinnamon rolls. The rolls were refrigerated over night and the following morning that class had lovely warm rolls waiting in their classroom for them when they arrived . I used the dough the children helped make for dinner rolls, that they were served when they came for lunch. Tom, I’m so sorry you never had cinnamon rolls as a student. I’m going to try your recipe next week when we have all of our children here for Thanksgiving.
My daughter makes wonderful Cinnamon Rolls every Christmas morning. She never has enough, people caught on, and every person she knows seem to stop bye . Sure enjoy the two of you.
At my High School I would get there early cause they would always have freshly made Cinnamon Rolls. Those were awesome. I loved them. I had an early bird class every day. So getting there 15 minutes early wasn't a big deal. I went to Thunderbird High School class of 79 in Phoenix, Arizona. Best year of my school life. 🙂🦋
Another great recipe and I love cinnamon rolls. Thank you for great day and I hope you both are enjoying your little trip. Love you both with prayers always Jeff from Maine
I was in Nashville, Indiana in about 1991 or 92, We were going to Chicago to visit relatives. We just loved this little town and its shops! We didn’t have these cinnamon rolls, but I didn’t know about them at the time. Nashville is on my bucket list to visit again , and now these Ooey Goey Cinnamon Rolls are, too!
Those look fabulous! My mom made THE best cinnamon rolls I've ever had. She was one of those cook's who could make something out of nothing and make it absolutely delicious! I miss her and her cooking so much. Have a great day!
Thank you for those kind words, Marita. I know sometimes I oversimplify a recipe, but I want to make sure that young cooks and those just starting to cook understand every step in a recipe. Thank you so much for watching our videos and supporting our channel.
My father used to use the same “elephant analogy” and he was the most brilliant person I ever knew 🤣. Just the thought of eating elephant was so unappealing. I’ve never made cinnamon rolls from scratch, but it sounds like something good to try on a cold morning this winter. As always, thank you for sharing your recipes and knowledge with us
You guys are the best! You did an awesome job with those cinnamon rolls! I know you were an excellent teacher because you teach us very well now! I would have lived to be in you and Melissa's classroom! I am also a retired teacher! Lol. I will definitely be ordering your cookbook and congratulations Congratulations to you both!
I love your videos and I bet you were a fabulous teacher. Your videos are like a classroom and we are learning so much. Your patience is something few have when standing in front of their students. ❤❤
I made your cinnamon rolls and I defiantly not a baker, but they were delicious! I enjoy your programs and always look forward for each new recipe Thank you and God bless!😊
I just love you guys. I am a baker and I love it. Cinnamon rolls are one of my favorite pastries. You are so thorough when you are explaining each step.❤ blessings to you all.
I’ve never let my mixer kneed the dough because I always thought it would work it too much. I’ve got to give that mixer a try. To raise the dough many years ago at a kitchen shop I bought a bowl called a bread raising bowl made in Sweden. This bowl was Fantastic. Dough rises in less then half the time. I’d give anything to find this bowl again. I did go back and pick up a few more because I make bread all the time. It was called a Bocha bowl. Or Bocka bowl. Hammarplast made in Sweden is on the bottom of this bowl and it has a plastic sort of inverted lid that covers it.
"This might not be too exciting for some of you to watch" you rolling up that dough. Guess what? We don't watch your videos to get excited. We watch to relax...so roll away, Tom. Great video again today. Looking for the cookbook daily. Blessings to you both.
We appreciate your kind words and we hope that you get to order a cookbook soon. Our company is working very hard every single day putting in 15 to 16 hour days in an effort to get caught up on the orders. We appreciate your patience in placing your order. They told us that they should be caught up later in the week, so hopefully you will be able to order soon.
I made your cinnamon rolls last night and oh em gee they were incredible. Was wary about the heavy cream, also I don’t roll things out with my rolling pin much because I’ve had bad experiences with dough stickage (haha). But these truly knocked it out of the park. Thank you Tom and Melissa for your awesome videos! From one Kentuckian to another (I’m close to Ashland, in Carter County), you guys rule. :)
Hi .. I love watching your channel... I would make these when my kids were young.. I learned how to make it at a gas station/ Cafe up here in Alaska.. but 1 thing different I did was .. butter bottom of pan and add brown sugar on the bottom then put my rolls on top..bake as you would as you recommended. The goodies part is the extra butter and brown sugar 😊
Oh my, we have went to brown co many years but never saw this place. You brought back memories of my father. My dad gave me and my brother's the same advice about large jobs. To this day I use that advice.
so thank you ,, thank you .......i made your pumpkin bread . the people at our library gathering on wed mornings , they loved it , thank you so much.. brenda
Hello Tom and Melissa! Your cinnamon roll recipe is close to what I make. Brown county Indiana is where we went a lot when we lived in Indiana. Born raised in Franklin County Indiana. About a hour and half from Brown County. We always went to the Bill Monroe camp ground when the Bluegrass festival was going on .
Cinnamon rolls are our Christmas morning tradition. I have a recipe I've used for more than 25 years. The best cinnamon rolls I have had while traveling are from The Creswell Bakery, in Creswell Oregon. They also make the most amazing hazelnut sticky buns. Heck, anything they make is absolutely delicious. We bring a cooler with us when we travel to Oregon, and bring home a variety of their wonderful goodies.
I looked them up and everything looks yummy! We travel to Oregon to camp, and will be sure to stop at Creswell Bakery! The breakfast pockets look good, too!
We hope you enjoy every single bite! We love these rolls. And we also also highly recommend the Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Roll Café if you’re ever in Brown County, Indiana!
The second way you did the cinnamon rolls is exactly how my grandmother , father and I make them. When you mixed up that tiny mixture I was thinking, this is not going to be nearly enough. I’m going to have to make some now! Great video!

I made the cinnamon rolls and I just have to tell you that they are the best that I’ve ever ate! The whole family loved them! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!!!
When I make my Cinnamon Rolls I really go heavy with the good stuff that you roll up and then after they have baked I will flip the pan on parchment paper and let all that gooey fall down the sides. Then after they have cooled a little I will put frosting on them. My Brothers love my Cinnamon Rolls and would do anything to have me bake them some. My oldest Brother would alway want me to take a picture of the rolls while they were rising not realizing what he was doing was counting how many I had made so when i delivered them and the count wasn’t the same he would ask, what happen to the others!! 😮 Bless his heart he passed away two years ago but I think of him every time I bake Cinnamon Rolls. Absolutely love watching the videos and all the love that is put into each dish. Blessings to you both ! ❤
I'm from Indiana and I loved going to brown County in the fall time. It's beautiful. We dont get the different seasons here in SE Texas. Love cinnamon rolls yum
That spoon with the sharpe tines, used in the butter brown sugar, I LOVE it, I use it so much more than I ever thought I would. It is a work horse. I was raised in a small town in the Texas Panhandle. Our school had the best food there, homemade yeast rolls, everry thing from scratch (when I was young. I'm71) It was so great! My parents owned a large restauraunt. My Parents were raised in the South but moved to Texas when they were in their 20's My Dad was the Cook for Breakfast Dinner, then a different person cooked from 2 pm. till 10 pm. Oh my if you had been in that town you would have been here taling to him! He cooked everything from scratch. From the pie dough to the pie filling, cobblers, Big Huge Cinnamon Rolls, Donuts to French Curler's and all the main dishes , veggies, salads and meats you can think of!
Hello from Oregon, I have been very much enjoying these fun in the kitchen cooking. I myself enjoy my KitchenAid but find need of extras. I checked on TEMU and the company has been just fine I bought a attach flap for pouring thing's such as flour and I can't believe all these years to be so happy. I have my wrap for my bowl but I see you had my problem and I also found my tiny long baby beater's our store's don't have it was like a set of three for $1.48 if I order 20. It's free shipping. I'm not saling the company but I'm no way Rich and enjoy nice things very cheap I can buy. The company has everything. Even food. I thank you and your wife for giving use a wonderful gift of how to do it I've had problem solving.
Cinnamon Rolls were a wonderful Christmas tradition with my husband's family. My Mother in Law who was a wonderful baker! would make Cinnamon roles on Christmas Eve before we all left for Midnight Mass. When we got back to her house after mass, she would pop them in the oven for a wonderful treat. Then we'd go home to wait for Santa to come. I miss those early Christmas morning cinnamon roles!
I've done about 6 different cinnamon roll recipes, so yours is my 7th. I've found that a bit of vanilla in the beginning dough procedure really sends the rolls over the top. I'm really excited about this sweet roll recipe. Love you guys. Candice in Texas
Tom and Melissa I just love how well the two of you work together and complement each other with each of your videos. So much God fearing and loving couple. Such a great example of a beautiful marriage. God bless you both. Love the cinnamon rolls. Great job.
Looks wonderful! So much like the places in our town called Cinnabons. If you ever visit a place while traveling called Cinnabons, you can compare. They're delicious also. ❤
I live in Indiana,a small town called Loogootee and my mom and step dad got married in a cabin in brown county in the park and we all stayed the night there and we usually go to the little nasville opry for concerts but i love cinnamon rolls and have tryed many recipes as well as your lemon rolls that were excellent and soft but when it comes to the easiest and flavorful i now use Rachel cooks with love recipe because it is so much easier and i as well put heavy whipping cream around them and they turn out very good ,you should watch her recipe sometime and see how easy it is.Love watching your videos !
Got my cookbook. It's teeeerific!! Made your meatloaf recipe last weekend and shared with my sister and brother-in-law. They absolutely love it! We have a local orchard and produce grower in Gainesville, GA, named JaeMor farms. They have their own version of a pepper/onion sauce. It was wonderful in the meatloaf. Thanks for your creative ability and sharing talent.
When my daughter was in nursing school and feeling over whelmed I would tell her “ how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!” Then I would say you’ve got this baby!! And she is now a Wonderful R.N. ❤

Tom I appreciate your instruction! I imagine you (and Melissa) were fabulous teachers!
If you use a deep 9x13 pan to do the 1st rise, it REALLY makes it easy to roll out a rectangle!
That sounds like a great idea!
Thanks for the tip.

I’m surprised that you didn’t make caramel sauce. ❤ I love your recipes. ❤ God bless both of you.
Yes.. I was Wondering about that too!!
That’s what Mandy & Masons Rolls look So Scrumptious!! I was thinking is that caramel or a thick cider Sauce??
I love this Channel!!.. I’m going to try to make these.. even though I Don’t have a Stand Mixer!! They Look YUM!!!😍🙌😋👍👍💗💗🙏🙏
I absolutely LOVE Cinnamon rolls! Thank you So much for this recipe!
I love how you break down the steps and make it look easy enough for people who don’t bake much. Thank you!

As always, thank you for sharing your recipes and knowledge with us
We visited many years ago. I want to go back!
Thanks for the info!
My mom made cinnamon rolls & they were the best. I have been to Brown County/Nashville area many moons ago. Beautiful area. Need to get back there!
To this day I use that advice.
so thank you ,, thank you .......i made your pumpkin bread . the people at our library gathering on wed mornings , they loved it , thank you so much.. brenda
I appreciate your consideration for us underdogs who usually get stuck with the corner pieces!💛
My mom always called them the child sized rolls. 😄
@ lol!
Brown County is absolutely beautiful when fall foliage is at its peak.
I live just west of Indy! All familiar places you mentioned!
We now live in Montana.
@@suew4609 I have never been disappointed with anything from there. I had a BLT I still dream about, there, many years ago.🤣
Just ordered your cookbook! So excited. Planning on ordering two more for my daughter and daughter-in-law. Thank you this wonderful collection.
I am a bread baker and I am going to try this recipe. ❤
Hi, It’s almost 10 pm here in Dallas, Texas, if it wasn’t so late I would surely make your Cinnamon Rolls. Love watching you two. Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe. Much Love❣️❤️❣️

Your Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Rolls look wonderful❣️ I think that after watching you make them I am ready to try to make some. Thank you so much for sharing and providing the encouragement.
I made the cinnamon rolls and I just have to tell you that they are the best that I’ve ever ate! The whole family loved them! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!!!
Congratulations on 200K subscribers!
Bless his heart he passed away two years ago but I think of him every time I bake Cinnamon Rolls.
Absolutely love watching the videos and all the love that is put into each dish.
Blessings to you both ! ❤
This last method works much better. 👍 Good job.
Looks Delicious, Can't wait to see were you 2 Travel to on Tuesday! Thanks Tom and Melissa!
I'm from Indiana and I loved going to brown County in the fall time. It's beautiful. We dont get the different seasons here in SE Texas. Love cinnamon rolls yum
I remember the lunch room cinnamons rolls, they were the best! The lunch ladies were the best at making them.
These look amazing! If I ever get up to Indiana, I'll have to stop by Mason and Mandy's cafe. I'll give these a try! Thank you so much! 😋💖🙏🏻
I was just there yesterday!! We go every year! But I didn’t see this place.. wish I had.. thanks for sharing!!
I live sitting at your table! Can't wait to make your cinnamon rolls 😊 Love You Two Teachers❤️
This is the best cinnamon roll recipe I’ve seen in a long time! Love that cream cheese frosting, too! Yum-O…✌️❤️
God bless you and everyone. ❤️
I’m about 30 minutes from Nashville; go every year. Glad you had a good time!
Thus recipe made my mouth water in anticipation!! Wish I was there to eat one!!❤❤❤😊😊😊
Yes please with a large, strong cup of coffee, Looks yummy! 😋
Nashville, IN is a beautiful place ❤
I've done about 6 different cinnamon roll recipes, so yours is my 7th. I've found that a bit of vanilla in the beginning dough procedure really sends the rolls over the top.
I'm really excited about this sweet roll recipe.
Love you guys.
Candice in Texas
Tom and Melissa I just love how well the two of you work together and complement each other with each of your videos. So much God fearing and loving couple. Such a great example of a beautiful marriage. God bless you both. Love the cinnamon rolls. Great job.
Looks delicious for these cooler days and a cup of hot coffee. Yum yum
The frosting! THAT is what I am REALLLLY waiting for! Goody!!!
Those cinnamon rolls look wonderful! Thanks for your tips!❤
Looks wonderful! So much like the places in our town called Cinnabons. If you ever visit a place while traveling called Cinnabons, you can compare. They're delicious also. ❤
They have loads of icing. So good.
Cinnabon is a chain store. They are great, too!
Wish I was there enjoying these with you all!
Thank you Tom for showing all these yummy things are possible to make.
CONGRATULATIONS again on the cookbook!
Definitely going to try this....
I love cinnamon and I do believe I have everything I need to make these in my kitchen. I know what I'm having for breakfast, thanks.
When my daughter was in nursing school and feeling over whelmed I would tell her “ how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!” Then I would say you’ve got this baby!! And she is now a Wonderful R.N. ❤
