8:27 re: Z-bar linkage. An external hydraulic system has advantages (especially self adjusting), but a mechanical Z-bar setup can be REALLY nice if you replace the cheap factory wear-prone pivots with heim joints. My CJ7 was a mess to shift before the simple heim joint swap and now it's by far my favorite clutch to use. It feels like a bolt action rifle.
My 5.0 MGB is getting a Nissan truck hydraulic cylinder on the T5 because joining the factory master via 3an braided is easy peasy. The builds on this channel are some of the best out there.

the trick on my 77 Nova 350 4spd. is to only use the clutch from a dead stop. and upshift w/o the clutch! work suprisingly well for the old saginaw M21! ive never used the clutch to slow down w/ my old car i let it in neutral and use the brake. since they are cheaper and easier to replace! 😁

I learned one thing doing ball joints in D100. Dodge with the screw in ball joints after you tighten them down bring the mig welder over & Tach each ball joint in all the way around. Because most likely the threads aren't able to hold them anymore.
First one i did 2 days later both uppers completely popped out.
I tached each ball joint on each side of every point on the hex with 1/8" long bead. Haven't had any issues since.

I agree with the previous comments. Beaters with heaters is what most of us can afford to build and seeing channels actually do that in a fairly reasonable budget is absolutely what we all need right now.

Here’s a tip for anyone. If you put a glove or 2 with a zip tie around the tail end of the trans it helps catch the trans fluid that’s coming out. And also u can squeeze the glove to put the lost trans fluid back in. 🔥🤙🏻💯

Picked up an 85 D150, a few dings but no rust. $1700, slant six and 4spd OD. The block is cracked, he had straight water in it when it got to single digits last year. I’m swapping in a 318 magnum with a carb soon. Next year it’ll get a 5.7/8spd. It’ll get the van LCA swap and some drop hangers. The 8.25 will have to get swapped for a 9.25 when the Hemi goes in. This will be my son’s truck eventually. I’m hunting for a 72-80.

I've heard many times over the decades you can't kill the slant six, but I grenaded my ex's in her 68 satellite just driving it normally.
It gave me an excuse to hop up a 318 from a 70-71 Challenger, threw a 360 cam and x heads with Blackjack headers some turbo 400's with 2 1/2" exhaust off my defunct 440 barracuda and it was a hot screamer!😲👍
The slant sacrificed itself for better things.
    Cool deal with the truck.

4 buddies in a single cab d150/100, reminiscent of my high school days. Lifted not lowered for mine though. Love someone fixed these trucks up. Love the late 70/early 80s for low riders
Edit: the dashes are perfect. So much better than my late 80s/90s

Cool truck, My dad has one like this, but it's a 77 2 wheel drive short box 440 all original. We live in Wisconsin and it just so happened a older lady in her 60s from Florida drove it up here to visit some family members and reverse went out in the transmission so she sold it to my dad for $600. That was back in 1992 and it been sitting in my dad's storage shed since then. These old Dodges were always my favorite out of the main 3.
