- Tony Angelo's Best bud Mike Edwards bought this 1987 Ramcharger on a whim after seeing it for sale online with the golden phrase "MUST SELL TODAY". Bought and paid for before he saw it, and driven by stubbornness and a will to prove Tony wrong, Mikey turned this old crusty dog into a very solid weekend adventurer! Watch the Stay Tuned crew get this old 360 running strong with some needed upgrades after sitting for decades!

As the owner of an ‘85 Ramcharger on 35’s, I can say, without question, the most annoying thing is hearing “hey man, that’s a sweet Bronco!”
It literally says dodge on the front and ram on the side 😅 you might just be running into less intelligent people
@@yooooo6296no, it’s common. People don’t bother to read any better than they listen.
Had one in high school and told everyone I drove a charger. Really confused the heck out of everyone when I showed up in that “bronco”
As the owner of a couple of Broncos over the last thirty years, I can say neither was ever mistaken for a dodge. 😅
I've owned both, liked my broncos but I've owned several ramchargers .. I like my rams much better, both rust out like crazy, but I like my solid axle easy to lift, and if your a Mopar nut easy to make power
I didn't think it was possible to miss my Late Dad anymore than I already do, but when I saw the striped bibs I choked up a little . That's the same kind he always wore. R.I.P Dad and Mom.
You made me weep. Sorry for loss.
Sorry for your loss.
@@PatandDoopypoopy Thanks.
@@joeymcnelis3975 Thanks.
I’ve got an 87 and just did a full restoration of it including rebuilt drivetrain and front and rear diffs. Bodywork., paint. Blue and white two tone on 39 tsl superswampers. It’s my trailrig
I had a 84, two 85s and a 86 before my current 79. One was a rust bucket but it was turned into a rock crawler and carved up anyway.
My 79 was 2200 in 2007. It’s now a 360 magnum/nv4500/Dana300/4.56s on 35s. I’ve been all over in it, from LaPaz to Moab. Now in SC, I’m finally rewiring it.
It’s not Friday! Sweet, Extra Tony.
Yessir, thanks for watching!
Way to keep us on our toes . Hitting us with a mid week episode Lucky us 🤌🤌👍
Just wanted to get some hands on Mikey's truck! And make it a bit better!
Awesome ram charger!!! Live the mud week vid too!!
Hey guys, hot ramcharger tip! They have huge fuel tanks but somehow they only hold 22 gallons! I had one and a friend of mine as well. (25 years ago) we discovered that the fuel pick up must get bent upwards during installation of plastic tank assembly and it curls up from the bottom of the tank. Turns out it’s about a 32 + gallon tank! never would’ve known, it has a huge skid plate over the tank. And they were untouched on both vehicles. Check it out!!
Best real-world car enthusiast/rodder channel ever.
Really appreciate that! Thanks for watching.
I fell in love with Ramchargers when I was introduced to Chuck Norris's Lone Wolf McQuade. Probably his best work
Yeah, and Supercharged!
That’s one clean ram charger. And only $2k?! Crazy good deal.
Oh, and this is one of the best car channels on TH-cam! I wish I was this good. 🤘
Not gonna lie this is quickly becoming one of my favorite things to watch! Keep it up y’all!!
Awesome! Thank you!
@@StayTunedTA real talk, when are we going to see the lotus again????
I have a 1983 Ramcharger I bought new raised my family 4 wheeling I parked it 10 years ago after seeing this next week the engine is coming out and I m going to stroke the 360 to a 408 thanks for motivating me.
Stay tuned never disappoints!!!!
Well, thanks so much! Appreciate it!
one pro tip, when you're working on a lifted vehicle with big tyres, let the air out of the tyres, gets everything lower so you don't have to stand on stools or crates😊
Bro, this thing could be on the rotors and I would need a stool.
Bro every project you do is literally one I wish I could…so glad your still pushing out content!
I appreciate that!
Thank you for a early episode this week, you can never have enough “Stay Tuned”!
7:06 “checks out” 🤣🤣🤣
He just needs to put a down and dirty 440 in it
I think big daddy vice grip garage just appears from the ether and lifts these men up. Good job guys
Derek is a legend for sure! Dude has given a ton of good info on building this channel.
I had a friend look at my 72 Monte Carlo when it was across the country. (Found on a "fan of" page)
He is not a "car guy" but I told him what to look for.
Long story short, It had a few more issues than described but overall pleased with my purchase.
You know it’s going to be a down and dirty party when T/A enters the room . Love it!!
This ram charger just hits my soul, I was raised around 70s and 80s dodge trucks.
I love this. My late dad had an early 80s w150 growing up - single cab, short bed that was awesome. I loved that truck, even as a kid. He did an engine swap in our driveway by himself over a weekend once (this was his daily and only vehicle) and managed to get it running before he had to be at work on Monday. Miss him tons and would love to have that truck back, and this video just reminds me of him. Thanks for everything you do Tony and team!
I put those Hella lights on my car senior year of high school 1992. I thought they were the coolest thing ever. Not a single female was impressed. Not one.
Man, I bet a rack of dudes were stoked though!
🤣 meanwhile I had the big 6” round ones, on my Jeep too..
Girls don't know what is cool anyway
Old cars/trucks are dude magnets. Chicks don't care about them.
Love ramchargers , one of the best looking trucks ever
What you have there is a 750 street avenger. It came with a bunch of different springs as well when new for the vacuum secondary’s so you could bring them in later or quicker what ever fit your build as well as the rear metering block for better on the fly tuning. Nice piece for the price!
My first car was an '87 Ramcharger. It was only 2wd, but I dug that because I envisioned myself building it into a unique muscle truck. I absolutely loved that thing and spent hours driving it and practicing for my road test which I took in that truck. It was incredibly reliable and never let me down and it was devastating when another driver blew a stop sign and totaled my truck...I have never gotten over that. Thanks, Tony, for bringing me nostalgia and making killer content!
I do love this generation of the trucks and the ramchargers. I had a 78 longbed adventurer with a mild 360, cam, Edelbrock intake and carb, and headers. it was too much for the rusty old truck. Had to swap from the full time 4x4 transfer case with a differential for a normal dual range case, because it would break loose a front tire when i would take off and pull left and right like crazy.
The best dodge truck dana 44 is before 78(bigger u joints ), but definitely keep an eye on the tiny front ujoints in that 80s version.
I love that you love mopars too and there ain't that many mopar builds like you do on TH-cam by other big youtubers so its a treat everything I watch.
I've had two Ramchargers (well, one Trailduster), both were awesome old trucks. I can't wait to see this one shape up.
I always liked those Ramchargers & Traildusters! This one appears to be coming along nicely! Great stuff!👍
I had a 79 Ramcharger with removable top,318 4 spd. I miss that truck.
Hey Tony you prolly know this, but figured I'd mention it just in case. On your tire machine, if the roller is broke like that. Just adjust the swing arm bump stop, set it so you have small gap not touching the rim. If you do already know that, my bad just wanted to mention just in case. I worked in a tire shop for like 7 yrs, so tire machine became my best friend,😂. Anyhow, love the channel brother!!!
Love this channel: love the music, the convos, the knowledge, and the education! Great fun and entertainment. Thanks, fellas!
@4:52, I remember being able to sit on the grill an work on it just like this with PLENTY of room to work! My measly 225 was easy of course, but never knew you could crawl into the bay with the 8-buckets as well! Awesome!
Today you couldn't get a tongue depressor an inch into the top of the engine in today's cars.
Thank you Tony & Crew. After such a craptastic day, I need this extra video today.
Let’s go tony! Good stuff with a early upload boys keep rocking🤘
I had an 85 ramcharger that was as rusty as that! I could see the road through the door. Bringing back memories!
I’ve owned a very nice 1990 Blazer, two Broncos, I’m still enjoying the second one ,a 1994 white Bronco sport with the 351W and some goodies under the hood. It’s a keeper, very nice. But I would love one of these Ramchargers, and my old Blazer again,it would be nice collection of the Big Three big SUV’s
I do enjoy watching you guys stay up all night.
Stay Tuned is by far the best car channel going. Tony is a wealth of knowledge about most car stuff. Keep it up guys.
Tony, good on ya man, this channel is really starting to get some traction! I'm baffled at how many cars you've scooped up in the past year.
In the past year this has easily become my favorite channel to watch! It’s always a party on this channel!! Keep killing it fellas💪!!
Mid week episodes are dope! No idea how you guys have the energy to stay up wrenching till 3am but as long as y'all keep doing it, we'll keep watching!
Fastly becoming the best automotive you tube channel much love from the land down under
I've now watched the entire back catalog of stay tuned, I can't get enough!
Sweet rig! Make sure that heat riser spring for the exhaust crossover is opened all the way on the P/S exhaust manifold.
This channel never disappoints!!
Tony is the best friend car guys could have.
Love how Mikey's brand new white Stay-Tuned shirt is smoked after one session.
I love seeing these trucks from my era revived that’s so cool. And the ram charger was all but forgotten. Way to go guys
Tony does it again! The Guy is Pure!
So sick! Great episode. It's relatable to almost anyone
That is an AWESOME truck. I have always loved Ramchargers. I had a chance to buy a pretty nice one back quite a few years ago and didn't do it. I regret that choose all the time. Hope to see this one back on the channel as it gets fixed up more
was with my uncle when he picked up his brand new 1991 ramcharger loved em
Beautiful Ramcharger. I love the two tone!
Always loved the Ram Chargers , Broncos and Blazers.
My 86 Ramcharger came with a 360 and a Quadrajet. Why in the world anybody wants a freaking Holley is beyond me. I find Q-jet`s very easy to tune, lots of parts out there. Most people don`t understand the Secondary air door setting and just complain about the infamous Q-jet bog, which is nothing more than a misadjusted air door. I replaced the 360 with a 440 and rebuilt the Thermoquad that came on it, it is sweet and dialed in perfect on the A/F ratios. Instant throttle response, great mileage, no leaks.
I'm glad I ran across you TA your personality is awesome
Killing it with tunes budlo. And I've had like 2 of those in the early 90s
I appreciate that you play music that doesn't suck.
This was an awesome find and y’all made an awesome video!!!!
My 1st car was an 89 cherry red w/ chrome bumpers. Mint. Loved it
I had a '70 K5 Blazer in high school & have always liked other short wheelbase trucks. Cool build, wish I still had mine.
Tony is awesome. Great truck. Thanks for the mid-week work!
You bet! Thanks for supporting!
What a surprise upload ! Awesome content as always Tony!
Trying to pump out some stuff between Fridays. Hope you enjoyed it!
@@StayTunedTA absolutely did thank you for the extra uploads, keep on pumping them out sir
I love watching you work on an 80’s smogger engine!
Dude that is like gold compared to the bad decisions i make.
Been watching on my tv for months now, finally subscribed on my phone. Was hoping I’d put you over 200k 😝👍
Love your work. Don’t stop
Something about those Ramchargers. I just love them!
Extra content!! Hell yeah brothers!!
Hell yeah! Let's Go!
More great content. Gotta love the Mopar dolphin noise when starting.
My step dad had one of them when I was super young, had a Chrysler 400 swap and mild build. Thing was a blast in the sand dunes, sand drags! Cool to see!
Very cool! a 400 would haul the mail pretty well.
The 360 likes more initial timing, around 36 total (depending on how efficient the later heads are), and really likes to have a recurved set of mechanical advance springs in the distributor. If you have a distributor that originally uses a ported vacuum source, switch or modify to one that uses manifold vacuum, because a ported vacuum distributor is difficult to get running correctly. Running that much timing may require using a higher octane gasoline.
Great episode my man!! Love this channel. Keep em coming cNt wait for Friday!!!
I absolutely loved and dearly miss my '86 Ramcharger. By far my favorite truck I've ever owned. Everyone called me OJ cause they thought it was a Bronco
I've had my '86 for 16 years now, threw a stroker kit in the 360 earlier this year for 410" inches.
Tuesday upload!! Living like a king!
Let's go bud!
Man i always wated a ram charger, i loved my bronco, never really wanted a k5 blazer but i love the look of the dodges of that era
I've been rockin those Falken AT3's for a little over a year now on my Jeep. Good all around tires. Good in snow, mud and on the street. Little squirrely in the rain but not unpredictable...🤓
Guys, all of you there, I just want to say I really appreciate these videos, this style. It feels like its been missing for a while for me. Just nice to "hang out at the shop", I mean its not super edited to just the best al all pretty effects, its just working on cars at the shop, but shot really well and high quality and good audio. its great. Long way to say, keep it up, I love it.
The second gen ramcharger's were the best looking. My grandpa had one and that thing as a kid i thought was unstoppable when i would get to go along with him and he would take it through the mud.
I heard a riff from the band The Sword playing! Love your taste in music and your taste in vehicles!
Oh fuck yeah another Stay Tuned video... ALREADY?! Kickin ass Tony!
I like the song at the 11:38 mark lol The Sword!
The Sword rules!
Alex from Maine! Hello from the east coast! Thanks for the mid week video!
That's awesome. I've always wanted an early Ramcharger or Trailduster. I ended up with a 77 CJ7 that I now daily drive.
Cool episode 😎 👌 👍 keep it coming
those old Ramchargers are awesome! that engine sounds like she running smooth too!
The channel is getting pretty good! Glad to see you're human and make mistakes like the rest of us!
Good Lord, I saw this and have never clicked so fast. I love Jeeps, especially XJ's and ZJ's, but there's something about the BIG three, the Blazer, Bronco and Ramcharger, I've always wanted one but finding one that's not a basket case here in Ontario is impossible. I don't know where this video is going but I want more. Please! 😊
Thanks, dudes! Nice Bronco!😂
No really, I love these trucks. Capable, and you can still park it! Nice work! ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
Hell yeah. Gonna be a blast.
It's a really solid truck, with tons of potential.
What a nice surprise, bought a shirt to say thanks!
Love your show.
This channel will get a lot bigger in audience and our bro tony will keep pushing out episodes
Love those Ramchargers.
My week just got 10x better 😄🤘
Man, thanks a bunch!
Got an '83 Ram 2wd short bed slant six 4 speed, been slacking on it hard the past few years. Wrenched and daily drove it through my early 20's and fell in love. Can't bring myself to get rid of it. Felt like you were talking to me at the end there
❤sick, brothers great score 👍👍
Good work guys! Let's gooo
so funny I just purchased three months ago the exact same 87 ramcharger same color for 2000.00 the 360 motor needed work head liner had be removed all of the same things with that and I put it on the TH-cam also three videos of it
keep up the great work love your videos
What a great way to start the week.
Hey, thanks! Appreciate it!
