Better exhaust routing, more injector (and maybe fuel pump) and you probably have well over 600hp. But, keep in mind, the Lincoln has the aluminum housing 8.8 which can accept an LSD, but is a bit weaker than the Thunderbird/Cougar iron differentials. Of course the CV axles will break first typically... but if you can find a T-bird SC differential with a factory LSD, a quick gear swap will get you sorted for low $$. Or just build the entire thing. Just beware of the stock 2-piece sleeved driveshaft. That's why they had limiters at 130MPH from the factory, due to driveshaft speed.
And if I remember correctly, a carbon fiber driveshaft is about the only good fix for it, because of the length and space. Can't put a big enough aluminum in there to get a high enough critical speed rating. I would hope aftermarket cv axles are available by now, but maybe theyve come and gone already. I haven't had an mn12 for about 10 years now.

The whole "space" or lack there of is the reason we nitrous fed moms 93 back in the day. The thing was stupid fun and total sleeper. Always loved em great car!
My best friend and I put a 4.6 all aluminum explorer engine and GT trans in his T-bird. We worked all night and the throttle stuck on first test drive. Don't use hose clamps there. We made it our unscathed, with the car and it ran great after that. Brings me back... Thanks!
the methanol injection is for cooling the intake charge. I'm thinking that trying to find a place for an intercooler and all the charge air piping under the hood on this car would be just about impossible.
That is impressive. For sure a milder tune for around town, but being able to blow the doors off anything similar is mad fun. And for sure the drag strip will be very interesting. As was intended all along. Mad win this time.
I had a boss that had one and he would do 90 to the stop light, EVERY STOP LIGHT. I just hate the bumper exhaust but whatever, it's cool. Reminds me of the old LSC.
The easiest way to prime An engine with oil is to take out the sending unit and put an adapter fitting in the sending unit hole then pour some oil in a clean bug sprayer pump it up and pressurize the oil throughout the engine, especially on mod motors I do it all the time.
I actually cheered when you guys made the 500 mark...awesome! After all of the work, you guys definitely deserve some applause! Thanks for posting and sharing your work!
Back in 91-92 , I was framing houses in Georgia just north of Atlanta. A couple guys had a LSC mark 6,or 7 don’t remember but we would pile in this car and rip it for lunch hour everyday. We called it the Long Smooth Car, not the LSC car, lol. This car would just rip those rpm’s so high we thought we were floating down road!! Is was so fun, think I was 18 at the time. Come to find out it had no registration no insurance no paperwork what so ever, just a dealer license plate. Cool car’s gotta say
91 or 92 would have been the Mark VII. A bit boxier of a car. I had a 91. Me and 4 buddies would go eat barbecue, and when we would get out the car, the air ride would adjust and the darn thing would look like it had a six inch lift kit. Hilarious.
I had a 74 sting ray we put a high pressure oil pump on, it idled at about 80 to 85 psi oil pressure. At 6500 it ballooned the k&n oil filter and strung a leak at the seal on the filter. You might be losing upwards to 50 hp because of the oil pressure, don't know but 80 at idle seems to be too much in my opinion and experience. Love the car, and the videos. Keep up the good work.
My group chat name, Wolfsquatch. I've watched Tony for years!! I used to wake up every Saturday morning to see what he was working on, on the good ol television.
RIGHT ON BRADA TONY, YOUR BACK ON. USE TO WATCH YOU AND LUCKY ON MOTOR TREND TV. I'M GLAD YOUR BACK ON WRENCHING THE LINCOLN IT'S SICK 514 RWHP. THAT'S NUT'S TONY, GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR POD CAST TONY. GOD BLESS YOU GUY'S TONY. ALOHA, BRADA BEC, FROM: THE BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII.
What about the suspension on your mk8. Does it still work as intended? Don't those cars drop down a few inches as speed increases, steering wheel response speed increases? Lincoln had a cool commercial about the mk8. Back when that car was new that engine was pretty good stuff. I think they claimed a 280+ HP with adaptive/active suspension. For the 90s that was the sht to have. Are you going to put a air filter on?
Pretty sure that was optional, and there's a good chance by now that all of that air suspension has failed and been removed. None of those fancy air suspensions lived nor were they cheap to fix.
Find you a small propane tank, flush it good, weld a 2” fill bung into it, a siphon tube with a fitting to attach to the oil sending unit hole and weld in a schrader valve with gauge. Add a gallon of oil, connect to sending unit hole and give her about 50psi, rotate the engine while its force feeding the engine and when its empty fire it up. Works on any engine and already has 4qts of oil in it
I have a 07 Pontiac G6 GT Sedan. Factory it is a LZ9 3.9l with a F40 6-spd manual. The 3.9 isnt much / not much has been done with them. However, that trans is a direct bolt to the ls4. You just need to add starter pervision on the trans as the ls4 doesn’t have it. Fiero guys do LS4/F40 swaps and get a nice 300hp stock to those. I want to use their R+D and a little of mine and put an LS4 into my G6 sedan. Talk about sleeper. A baby sky blue g6 sedan with tan cloth interior. Frame rail fitment is the only issue as the 3.9 is tight. Adding 2 more cyl will be tricky. But you give us home guys insperation. I can buy an LS4 car for $1000 with a blown trans, and have everything I need as far as mounts, wiring, ecm. Fuel pump. Whatever I may need aside from clutch and flywheel.
I love a good sleeper and this build has to be my favorite yet. I have always thought the Mark VIII was a good looking car and it makes a hell of cool sleeper. I am sure Brad didn't mind lounging in that comfy leather interior on the dyno either. It was fun to watch that exhaust tip slowly melt its way into the bumper cover while you made those big HP numbers. I can't wait to see the car hit the streets of PA. Keep up the good work!👍
I remember these cars when they were new. The shop I worked for eons ago built one with a procharger that did 550 wheel and was dead quiet. Loved driving it around and melting brains.
Y'all are one of the most fun channels to watch out there. Way to much fun and looks like y'all just have an great time. Can't wait to see this one tearing up the streets.
So, my father has this silver Lincoln LS. Great body style. Yes, I know, different engine. His has that 4 cam out of the Jag. For whatever reason, guy can’t can’t get rid of it. He goes and grabs himself another nice secondhand piece, and doesn’t trade it in. He’s had it for over 10 years now. I’ve brought it back from no start conditions more than a few times. Wrenching, more wrenching. Runs like a sewing machine now. All I’m sayin’ is. He’s going to enjoy watching this buildup. Next time him and I sit down to watch some tube together, I’m headed to Stay Tuned. He’s definitely going to enjoy this buildup. Thanks, boys. And congrats on the numbers and keeping it together this time. Gotta’ feel good!
Great job guys! I know space is tight, but please add an intercooler when you install the bigger injectors. Then you'll be drifting grandpa's Lincoln in second gear with that Gearstar.
Every time you keep yelling “Double it” I could see the top of the engine explode again. There is a limit to reliability. You guys are a small operation with big ideas and balls and we all appreciate it. But, damn, y’all got to back off a bit. 515 at the wheels and 520 torque is awesome for the grampa machine!!!! And it is still a luxury model…..with cloudy headlights and tailpipes coming out the front quarter panels!!!! Anybody who tries to beat that sleeper is going to regret it…..well, we’ll see how well it performs on the next episode, I guess! You need to be slumped a bit in the driver’s seat with both hands on the wheel, wearing a white hair wig, big horn rimmed glasses, a red farmer flannel shirt, blue jean coveralls and old work boots to complete the look of the sleepy sally!!!! Oh, and one more thing…..a bumper sticker that says “I might be slow, but I am ahead of you!” Go get ‘em!!!!
Glad you moved back and enjoy all your builds. Nice to see you get through the dyno session without blowing anything up. Can't wait to see what that Lincoln does in 1/4 mile.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE this car and this upgrade. How many people think about doing a cool car like this. Mid 90's 2dr Lincoln's and Caddys can be bought pretty cheap and even though they're TANKS they can be built to SURPRISE HELL OUT OF THE GUY (or gal) IN THE OTHER LANE and YOU can ride around in absolute, unequalled LUXURY! Hmmm,, wonder if you can find a "RELATIVELY CHEEP" (older) Rolls or Bently out there? Wouldn't THAT be a hoot?!!
Absolutely awesome, we don't see many of these small V8's in Australia. My LS1 is a 5.7ltr sedan with a LSD, but, my sleeper is a LS2 6.0ltr with over the radiator intake, 3" stainless exhaust and rebuilt true trac LSD wagon, unbadged. Love the content, can't wait to see it on the road and drag strip.
Honestly I wouldn't be afraid of going to near 100% DC, I run 60s on my terminator and make around 600 wheel, been running it like that for 6 years and that's with a blower eating horsepower, you should be able to hit 600 easy with that combo assuming you have a decent enough fuel pump.
Didn't know about the filter housing pre lube trick- cool! Another good thing to do is disconnect the crank position sensor and you can crank it over without any fuel pump or injector spraying
Is there any reason not to leave the charge pipe off and get it running/do a little tuning to get it started NA first with a new/somewhat unknown engine build like this? Seems like it would greatly reduce the number of initial variables you're dealing with and also give you a better idea of what sort of power numbers to expect with boost so than when you do add it you can more easily tell if it's properly meeting expectations or have a narrower idea of where the issues might be if it doesn't.

The whole "space" or lack there of is the reason we nitrous fed moms 93 back in the day. The thing was stupid fun and total sleeper. Always loved em great car!
My Friday night ....her: hey babe let’s have a date night? Me: sure, gimme 48 minutes after stay tuned vid just dropped!!!
YES! Let's GO! Appreciate that lady.
That was so satisfying to watch those numbers go up with every pull and the engine stayed together! Good job! Can’t wait for the next video.
Can someone please send them a couple of mario and Luigi out fits from plumbing to turbos they do it all 😅
My best friend and I put a 4.6 all aluminum explorer engine and GT trans in his T-bird. We worked all night and the throttle stuck on first test drive. Don't use hose clamps there. We made it our unscathed, with the car and it ran great after that. Brings me back... Thanks!
Tony you really need to intercool this thing.. That should be the next thing that goes into this build
the methanol injection is for cooling the intake charge. I'm thinking that trying to find a place for an intercooler and all the charge air piping under the hood on this car would be just about impossible.
Where would this operation be without the good help Tony has.
We have a killer team for sure!
That is impressive. For sure a milder tune for around town, but being able to blow the doors off anything similar is mad fun.
And for sure the drag strip will be very interesting. As was intended all along. Mad win this time.
I like this build! I’d love to see a set of stock wheels on it widened out back and narrowed up front. Then throw the drag radials on the stock set. 😎
I'm digging that green Mustang coupe in the background of the dyno shop.
I had a boss that had one and he would do 90 to the stop light, EVERY STOP LIGHT. I just hate the bumper exhaust but whatever, it's cool. Reminds me of the old LSC.
Your boss sounds like the man!
The easiest way to prime An engine with oil is to take out the sending unit and put an adapter fitting in the sending unit hole then pour some oil in a clean bug sprayer pump it up and pressurize the oil throughout the engine, especially on mod motors I do it all the time.
Glad to see you guys finally get a real win on the dyno!
I love the mark vIII, so glad you got back to it.
Hilarious.
Always coming with the unique rare builds . Love it
Going from memory the biggest issue with the MN12 chassis is installing a solid axle rear.
Power has never been an issue.
Always wished someone would do this. Tiny engine bay is rough to work on. Love this car.
Right on! thanks for watching!
I love this build too. I'd like to put a basic 400 sbc with a turbo for my '66 chevy C10. love to get a reliable 400 rwhp if possible.
Best channel on youtube for car guys and gals.
Works on any engine and already has 4qts of oil in it
It's nice to see you that excited about a Ford Tony. That car is going to be a super sleeper.
Awesome. I remember dropping a Taurus SHO in a Tempo as a teenager. Shenanigans ensued.
The level of stoked they are at the end just makes me smile, such a cool project!
Would love to see the look on the first guys face when you smoke them with the grandpa car. Sleepers are the best!
Hands down best car content on TH-cam !
Thanks, appreciate it!
Thank you for making my day in a tower crane that much better .
Y'all are one of the most fun channels to watch out there. Way to much fun and looks like y'all just have an great time. Can't wait to see this one tearing up the streets.
It shows how impressive that S10 is. You've got less in that than you do just engines in this thing.
Center housing reciprocating assembly sounds like a fancy way of saying short block.
Cleaver build! Drag and drive car? Love Greyhound Grampa! The ultimate unusual Sleeper!
Turbo 4Vs sound WICKED. That thing is gonna fly with the auto too! Good build; great hot rodding.
#CommodoreEnvy
Great job Tony and Stay Tuned crew! Can’t wait to see the 1/4 mi Rip!
You and me both bud!
This engine sounds absolutely amazing! I can't wait to see it on the track.
"Sleeper" with the exhaust coming out the front bumper
Didn't know about the filter housing pre lube trick- cool! Another good thing to do is disconnect the crank position sensor and you can crank it over without any fuel pump or injector spraying
I had a 93mark8 loved that car now i want another built one find a clean one goto a car show u never see them
Is there any reason not to leave the charge pipe off and get it running/do a little tuning to get it started NA first with a new/somewhat unknown engine build like this? Seems like it would greatly reduce the number of initial variables you're dealing with and also give you a better idea of what sort of power numbers to expect with boost so than when you do add it you can more easily tell if it's properly meeting expectations or have a narrower idea of where the issues might be if it doesn't.
You get a nice comfy ride in a Lincoln too.
