To sell a modified vehicle to the public can hold you responsible for any liability as a corporation in some states especially Cali. If someone was to have an accident because of a failure of a modified part it could result in a lawsuit for the Corp. and not worth the risk for a couple dollars when you are worth millions. Supplier donates the parts and gets advertising in the article of builds and whomever accepted the parts typically sign a contract saying that they will not sell the parts on a vehicle kinda like the scenes that show the hub being installed incorrectly, could have ended in an accident on public highway best case scenario being bad publicity for the supplier because of failure and could have ended in death or property loss lol
too much liability. Anything breaks and someone gets hurt Motortrend can be held accountable, especially in effed up states like California. Not worth the $1,000-$10,000 they’d maybe get for one.
The Warn Premium and standard hubs use the same guts, the only difference is in the dial section of the assembly. the premium hubs have better sealing for mud, but they are not any stronger than the standard hubs.
@@spamanator666 Have tried HBO Max (and other US streaming services), they block a bunch of VPNs, and those they don't I cant get through billing because they wont accept my AU credit card. They only want to destroy an talk bad about every car they get. I don't think they know the ppl watch bc we love the old cars. They are always calling trash garbage junk etc.
The hubs and locker problem may be the result of a 3/4 ton truck with more traction than an M1 Abrams. Let the tire spin before the drive shaft twisting.
Having Steve on episodes like these is like your mom telling you that you have to bring your little brother to your best friends house, he try’s so hard to be cool but just ends up getting awkward. Honestly second hand embarrassed for the guy.
Probably a combination of production/episode time constraints, Roadkill-ish repair theme ethics aka bare minimum and it not being someone's prized personal vehicle.
@jimjoe9945 as a mechanic i agree with you. But it wasnt leaking. So the repair was only a new yoke. The start was to repair what did not work. So no leaks no repairs.
Usually when it doesn't leak you really don't want to touch it because it can possibly make it worse. If it does then by all means do it, however usually the seal rides on the yoke and seals against that. If they got a new one already then it has a perfect sealing surface already and if it didn't leak before then it really won't then. Like your cam seals and crank seals if they are leaking do it if they are not do NOT touch them can give you more headache than what it's worth. That just means you kept on your oil changes and kept those seals good.
I've been watching Road Kill for years,I get the concept, but it's tough to watch them beat the starch out of this old Chevy..Why not use another brand? Then beat flipping Hades out of it.
I still think this truck should have that stupid “trail rated” badge from the jeep’s,it did the Rubicon right? If a Jeep liberty or whatever the new smallest wimpy jeep gets a trail rated badge the Chevy deserves one!
I used to wonder what it would feel like to watch an extended video about wrenching on a truck with s***** music in the background and now I don't need to wonder anymore.
How do you think the boys did fixing up the K20?!
Awesome truck . Looking to build the same truck
How do I get a job like that?😂
Awesome! I really appreciate whoever is uploading these. I miss both Dirt Everyday and Roadkill.
I liked tuning onto Fred Williams
You can see roadkill on discovery + is still going
The clowns at Discovery + management shut down Dirt Everyday. I won't give them the time of day.
@@talon0863same!! I like Roadkill. But not at the expense of Dirt Everyday.
Fred and crew were so knowledgeable.
Great to see this rig get used and not forgotten.
Squarebodies. Rule 😅😅😅😅
I miss Dirt Everyday. Bring back Fred and Dave.
I don't understand tv shows. Buy a truck, fix it up, use it for the show, park it to let it rot. Sell them off , someone will drive them
well, the parts get donated so no cost to the show, then they sell ads building it, and toss it aside for the next episode.

because content
Ain't nothing better than a square body pickup I think they're the coolest pickups ever made
Favorite duo ! Thanks for sharing and keeping the love of junk alive !
One of my favorite trucks, love a long bed
bring back Dirt Every Day
This brings good old 2015 Youtobe Memories . .. Glory days!
This was a perfect episode for me. Squares, dole check, and fried burger.
I love that truck.I love the mid seventies chevy's
Nice being able to work sitting under the truck without haveing to jack it up!

When zapping the rear yoke with the impact.... doesn't that pull the pinion out of mesh?
This is my exact truck that I’m currently fixing up
We do some rock crawling. That truck looks very capable. If you don't want it, I'll take it. Good job
I loved my SM465 in my Chevy so much I put it in my Joop CJ7.
Am I high or did the truck turn green?
I think we might both be high lol becuase I saw it too.
@@davidhawthorne9637😅
Im high and i saw it change
Is it an either or situation, or could both possibly be true?
The rear driveshaft was also rusty/dirty on the green truck.
love these old videos! Great truck!
Oh my god, mine was green, thanks pal😊
Dirt Every Day was a great show!
That's alot of basic repairs that the 4x4 guys should have handled.
I dig that front winch mount, would like to see more of it.
If I was a tv host for motor trend I'd put it in my contact that I would get to own all the project vehicles 😂
Hahahaha yeah frame twisting an old square body can be measured on a speed bump , especially around the steering box area 😂
Man, that hurt watching the intro with DED destroying the straight bodywork.
I never understood why MotorTrend pulled out of Australia. I loved watching this and Roadkill with my subscription.
It's all available on HBO Max now, you might have to use a VPN.

first time I've seen him not wearing flipflops hahaha
it magically turned green!
Nice flex whipping out the benchmade griptillian
Shame they took such a straight truck and purposefully smashed it against rocks and trees.

magic green paint.
not magic, it was shown in the full episode on motor trend.

The cheap warns can be your easily replaced mechanical fuse for the front drive line.
From orange to green in a blink lol.😂

The fast way to air down *flick (cuts valve stems) haha
need worlds greatest drag race back😊
I kinda hate when someone trashes a rig like that just for entertainment.
Its green I love it
Wait, what happened to the street drivability after the new hubs? And how did the truck turn green?

I'm slowly entering that club 👍😂
Man I didn't think Steve could get any cooler
I see Dulcich building a Simon and Simon Dodge Macho 4x4
Detroit lockers are the best
I had a K20. Granny gear was so slow and low ...
Man, they really ruined that truck.
Yeah😢 at least fryburger saved it the guys on dirt every day ruined it😢
@@amandastyles-uh6zx they destroy everything including fryburger that why I watch
yeah, not cool.
Tell whoever at discovery is editing the shows to quit destroying them by editing them to death!!!!!!!😡😡😡😡
Good show but it’s so odd after all these years of watching you David having those shoes on it just doesn’t look right
What may be odd to us is normal in california😂
I blinked and the truck was green, I guess they skipped that part
Next time bring a Cybertruck to tow the truck out of a jam. 😂

Looks like a driveline angle issue as well.
