Lets not forget that the GSXS has 150cc LESS.... Would have been better off bringing the GSXS1000 ... The GSXS 750 and street triple are kinda in a class of their own. I love my GSXS 750 by the way.
The GSXS 1k is 12 grand and has like 20 more hp than the Z900. The 750 with about 112hp at the crank is actually a better match to the Z900 which has around 125hp at the crank.
Stamp Rides actually Suzuki is 200 cc less.. kawa is 950 cc...not 900..the motorcycle magazine riders is trying to be cool, hahaha much fun bigger engine, no traction control, novice needs bla bla. Such a smooth tc is and Bridgestone battlax tires on Suzuki super sticky on road...90 percent of riders needs Suzuki, if you are summer rider/poser buy kawasaki...you don't need to go fast, cruising bike, mt07 style wheelies because of bad chassis and bike dynamics.
Absolutely. Test rode one back in the summer and what a hoot. Great performance with a super silky smooth throttle response [unlike the Yam MT 09]. The only bike in this category that would give the Z900 a real run for it's money is Triumph's superb 765 Sreet Triple R. The RS is considerably more expensive so is not really in this class.
The Suzuki for me also. Better handling, better brakes and the engine is enough for me to be happy. No it doesn't have LED all over and a TFT dash but I have never ever broken a bulb anywhere but in the headlight of a bike and that is so easy to change. The dash on it is better than one thinks. Very easy to read. The Kawasaki has 3 years less warranty here. The Aprilia is Italian. Do I need to say more?
you do realise LED is not for economics/lesser broken lightbulbs. it makes you see way further. once you ride with LED, you never wanna ride with a bulb again
I have z900 green with performance pack.. great bike super smooth... I tried the gsxs1000 & 750 and it felt I was sat on top of the bike , I prefer the z900 where you are almost sat into the tank with higher bars, rider modes are not necessary for me the bike copes fine at low speeds in any gear :) seems great so far!
I test rode the Z900, I felt that it was so smooth and controllable despite its huge power output that riding modes and TC weren't needed. The same can't be said for the FZ-09 which literally explodes with torque right off the line and was virtually unridable before the 2017 changes. Its also kinda strange, my current bike is a Versys 650 and I find that you sit on top of that bike, the Z900 felt very low compared to the V. The Z actually reminded me a lot of the Suzuki Bandit I used to have in terms of ergos.
Comes with.... Exhaust , bubble screen, seat Cowell and got a free tail tidy, (get to keep original exhaust and seat) tbh it just tidys the bike up.. works out cheaper as the bundle I think £600 more for everything... as I'd never pay £190 for a seat Cowell etc haha!
it's my 1st naked bike having had a zx6r etc.. the bike is quick but smooth so it doesn't always give that huge rush! part of me would love to be selfish and get a zx10r but naked bikes seem the way forward for all roundness.. plus I use it for work and days out wrh family/ friends haha. There doesn't seem much coverage on the z900 on TH-cam yet, I had my mind set on a gsx s1000 but felt physically too small same with the gsxr1000 think kawasaki are built just that bit bigger for taller riders
Thanks for the reply., I was waiting for someone to talk about this. What about the grips or tc? Aren't they useful in taking turns or without it the power can't be controlled right.?
My Brother has the GSX-S750...and he added the Corbin seat, for even more comfort and just a bit thicker padding. He LOVES the bike, and even though the 'power' comes in at different RPM ranges, he does a Great job of keeping up with my FZ1, and of course, leaves me on top end at about 200mph vs my 170mph. [Both bikes have Power Commander V's and full exhaust, and 'super flashes'...]
With a notable displacement advantage over GSX-S 750 in this test,, how does this shootout's winning Z900 fare against the (only slightly) larger GSX-S1000?
My thoughts exactly! They agreed that the Suzuki had the best brakes, most comfortable seat, most agile, best sound plus more than enough power to keep up with a litre bike! So go figure....
Wait a minute. So has the Suzuki has more a comfortable seat, better brakes, is more agile and when you unleash the throttle, goes like a cut cat; not to mention that Suzuki build quality excellence, bullet proof gearbox and is the cheapest. Result the Z900. Riiiiiiiiiight.
I rode Suzuki GSX-S750 and then the Z900, Z900 pulls stronger, but I liked the Suzuki better, sounds much better, seat is better...besides, here in Slovakia GSX-S750 costs 1000,-Eur less then Z900
bro triple street is good but now speed triple has launched there engine is 1050cc with 3 cylinders and 150 ps you can also compare street vs speed triple samratbiketech.com/naked-bikes/triumph/

I’ve hated Suzuki and Kawasaki styling for so long, but wow those two super naked versions are starting to really grow on me. Not interested in the FZ-09 anymore lol
After a near-fatal crash with a careless Cager years ago, I am not as flexible as I wish I was... with a fractured back and artificial hip and knee, I can no longer ride a super-sport...so the Nekked Bikes are my best option. And the truth is that I don't ever plan to be 'racing' anyone, and I Love the versatility and better comfort for a long day of riding... I still do an occasional Track Day to keep my skills sharp, and there are no 'chicken strips' on my Q3+ tires! But I can also comfortably ride with my Cruiser friends, or even take a modest 'road trip' without being in agony. With a little bit of 'tweaking' my FZ1 is putting a dyno-tested 140 HP to the ground and hits 170mph on top... And that gets this "disabled" 65 year young Marine Vet. around pretty well... BTW -- my 61 year young Brother has a 'Gixxer 750' that he LOVES! He had an '06...and when he wore that one out, he got a new model of the same bike...

lol kawasaki obviously did not make it to compete with the GSX 1000. The GSX is quite a bit more expensive and has 20 more HP. Word has it they are going to offer a supercharged version of the z900. The Z has H2 pistons in already so that GSX is gonna be slow as fuck for the price here soon

Great vid ! Having ridden FZ-09 (or MT-09 as we refer it in EU ) is a superb package with crazy delivery and intoxicating sound but the GSX also looks great and I have ridden its big brother , a monster of a bike. Great dilemmas 😁
You guys are marvelous. Get more of this kind of videos please. Amongst all the nakeds, I still say the Kawasaki Z series ie the Z800, Z900 and Z1000 are stunning, it looks macho with the transformer head lamp and a fatty fuel tank, what more with the very reasonableprice it offers compared to its competitors. That should be the style and design of super muscle naked, meant for fun, easy and happy riding, daily use in towns and cities along the winding conering hilly roads. It is not for racing or on track, as the RR versions in all the brands are already meant for track.
I've had the last gen FZ1, and I'm now on my second 2012 Kawasaki Z1000. I absolutely love naked bikes, and the Z1000 is perhaps the best bike I've ever had since I was a young'n starting out. I love the Z bikes. I wish they'd keep the 1000 around, though.
If you are willing to shop around and perhaps drive out of your area, you can get the Suzuki at a really great deal....at least in my area where every rides cruisers or does 4 wheeling. I'm looking at 650's and there was not an SV 650, MT09 to be had in my area at all...nada, zip, zilch. Found just one z650. .....although I did find one GSX-s750 available at a dealer.
Rich Dubbya Worse specs of the 3 Too heavy with the horsepower and torque not high enough to make up for it. It does have some really nice premium features though which the main guy points out more than once.
Suzuki Gsx 750s is made for people who love Fancy electronics like Traction Control or people who are Suzuki Fanboys. But people who have a even a little knowledge about Motorcycles, would take the sensible decision of buying the Z900. No Comments for the Aprilia
Mottorad tested the Z900. GSXS 750, MV Brutale 800, MT O9 and the Triumph 765 Street Triple S against each other and the Z900 trumped them all. Nuff said.
I agree the Z900 is arguably the best bike, however for me it is ugly and more importantly not that comfortable (as shared by the testers above). I don't understand why Kawasaki would compromise the ergos on a middleweight naked, when really it should be very comfortable. These are not 20K superbikes, they should be fun and usable.
I notice every single shootout they always pick the fastest one lol. I don’t think it’s fair for a 750 to compete with 900’s. But ya it’s almost to predictable now when you guys have shootouts lol.
$10,995 for my 2023 brand new Triumph Street Triple RS in carbon black a month ago. I think the extra grand or so was worth it over comparable competitors
The only problem with this is MSRP means nothing on sportbikes, most esp. Suzukis Ive never heard of anyone paying retail for one in the States, In real world shopping the Suzi is probably another 1-2 grand cheaper.
Why isn’t Aprilia’s middle weight naked bike not a mini tuono?? Seems like with the tuono factory unanimously and consistently being called the best super naked, Aprilia might decide to win a bunch of sales down the market a bit too
Think you guys might need to get the FZ and Striple into a 5 way with these 3 ;) Maybe add a Monster to make it a 6 way. I've test ridden the Z900, amazingly good bike, a steal for what they are asking for it. You don't even care that it doesn't have TC or riding modes, the engine is so smooth and controllable that you don't really need it. Very easy to ride for a fairly light 125hp bike, even floating the front wheel slightly in a 2nd gear pull it felt stable as can be.
I have no idea what's up with the Shiver 900. Is it super restricted or something? The old 750 makes 95 hp at the crank and 80nm peak, but the 900 also makes 95 at crank and only 10 more nm at peak.. Where did those extra 150cc go? It should be no problem passing 110hp at crank with that displacement in a twin.. But why would anyone ever get the Shiver 900 over the 750 when they are so identical and the 900 is more expensive. Makes no sense at all, what's the purpose of the 900? It doesn't bring anything new to the table.
Should do this video again but with the MT09 and not the aprilia. The newer GSXS 750's have 112 hp which bring them much closer to the Z900's 125hp. I went with a GSXS last summer because the dealer offered it out the door for $8000, the Z900 out the door was $11,200. For ten horse power more. no thanks. GSXS also can get 200 miles per tank, which means 160 miles of super cushiony no fear riding before needing fuel.
Hello from Vietnam! Good comparative! I will never understand why Kawasaki decided to make so uncomfortable passenger seat in the z900... I guess this is why a lot of people will not buy this bike...
You might find the seat to peg distance a little short - I did and I'm 5'11" but I was asking Kawasaki UK about weight range and the said quote 'The Z900 maximum recommended load including rider, passenger, baggage, and accessories must not exceed 180kg (397 lb). ' - so you should be fine!
No one else seems to want it, I'll take that Suzuki.
It's so underrated and I have no idea why
Suzuki all day long!
Rider modes
standard abs
sweet sweet induction howl exhaust note
best tires
best brakes
Seat height is fine and I’m 5’ 8”
Sit on it the riding position is terrible
I’d take the Suzuki 1st Kawasaki 2nd and aprilia 3rd
Playdoh Doodoo literally sat on one today and it shits on the mt09 for seating position.
Just depends what suits your body build.
Test drove the 750 today and loved it
I have the gsx s750 and i will buy it again any day of the year i have put 9800 miles in 8 months i love it
Suziki every time... best looking , best sounding and best quality for money 🤙
Lets not forget that the GSXS has 150cc LESS.... Would have been better off bringing the GSXS1000 ... The GSXS 750 and street triple are kinda in a class of their own. I love my GSXS 750 by the way.

I paid 8k otd for my 2016 gsxs 1k. Stupid awesome deal

exactly. The Z900 is actually a 949cc engine if I'm not mistaken. Between the two, I really preferred my GSXS1000 over the z900.
Z900 is the perfect package, Almost touches the litre class benchmark and comes with raw performance.
Don’t forget that it comes with the cheap insurance of being a sub liter bike as well
I like Aprilia!
That Z900 is a beast.

Best MC review ever! Keep coming back to this great piece of wisdom!
Aesthetically, I like the GSX S750 and it will surely be enough on our roads here in Philippines.
This frickin' virus is separating me from my brand new Gsx-s 2020 😭
Suzuki for the looks and Aprillia for the V Twin sound!

They are not in the same price range nor horsepower. Z900 competes with fz 09
GSX S1000 Needs to be compared with the Z1000...
Kawasaki z900 is the best of the bunch!

No.. not really
Limited in scope, but a thorough, succinct and enjoyable review.

I'm 6'4" tall and 220 lbs. Would that Suzuki be a good fit for a tall rider like myself?
I'd pick the Shiver over the other 2 if the damn thing didn't weigh so much.
that Suzuki sounds great
I purchased a 2022 Suzuki GSXS-750z earlier this year and it's been perfect. The only issue is that damned stock seat!

I wouldn't mind having any of them.

It is not fair to judge the GSX-S750 to the 900 cc bikes. Suzuki has the GSX-s1000. That should be the fair way to choose the best bike.
I agree! It would be a much closer in displacement, but they wouldn't dare pit these 900s against the K5 at 150 hp.

You don't even care that it doesn't have TC or riding modes, the engine is so smooth and controllable that you don't really need it. Very easy to ride for a fairly light 125hp bike, even floating the front wheel slightly in a 2nd gear pull it felt stable as can be.
You
I got to admit this Aprillia shiver ia very trending for this recent day, how come,,,,,
I like the z. Would be great if they could tweak the GSXS. Probably not that far off the weekend pace and great looking bike.
Why do they always compare the gsxs750 to 900s ?
cause gsxs 750's a beast
Naked threeways are always entertaining.
😝
Nice review
Guys plz do the striple s and z900 comparo
Super vid guys! How does the Honda CBR 650R compare with the Suzuki 750?
Farzan Khansaheb unfair competition IMO. The Hon is really basic whereas the Suzuki is a detuned sport bike engine.
The Plastic Collector thanks mate!
The Plastic Collector what about the handling though, which one handles better?
nicely explained
Should do this video again but with the MT09 and not the aprilia. The newer GSXS 750's have 112 hp which bring them much closer to the Z900's 125hp. I went with a GSXS last summer because the dealer offered it out the door for $8000, the Z900 out the door was $11,200. For ten horse power more. no thanks.
GSXS also can get 200 miles per tank, which means 160 miles of super cushiony no fear riding before needing fuel.
I owned gsx s750 for one year. Next will be shiver
My 750 ape dose wheelies in 2nd gear..and the ape sounds so dam good with some leo pipes..the Suzuki and kawi still sound like a blow dryer..
The Aprilia sounds like a lawnmower so pick one. Dryer or mower.
Hello from Vietnam! Good comparative! I will never understand why Kawasaki decided to make so uncomfortable passenger seat in the z900... I guess this is why a lot of people will not buy this bike...
Adu, passenger, that's more weight
I'm lookinging into the z900 but I'm 6'1 at about 250lb. Whould that affect the shocks or springs on the 900 ?
You might find the seat to peg distance a little short - I did and I'm 5'11" but I was asking Kawasaki UK about weight range and the said quote 'The Z900 maximum recommended load including rider, passenger, baggage, and accessories must not exceed 180kg (397 lb). ' - so you should be fine!
