    It will do 85-90 mph! Your not giving it enough room to get up to speed! I've seen it do 89 mph flying with a 5 mph wind

    You probably were going faster than 70. The drone wasn't coming straight on at the radar.
    You will get a lower reading if its not coming straight at you. Its called the cosign effect. Approximately 1% lower reading per degree its off.
    Best reading will be when the drone is further out as the angle is lower.
    Its the same reason that when you are driving by those speed signs that your speed drops when you are close to them.
    You were probably doing about 75.

    I had my DJI FVP drone read 99.9 mph in the goggles, going with the wind and full throttle in acro/manual mode, not sure if it reads higher than 99.9 or that's the max it will display. This drone rocks.

    70 is pretty fast for that drone's size. It's rated to go at around 85 mph so there's some discrepancy there. Still, good showing for a version 1 drone. Definitely the faster DJI pre-built drone.

    Great Video!, can't wait for mines to arrive. I was wondering, while flying with the goggles on, are you able to determine the direction of the Aircraft in relation to the R/C, I'm curious as to if it is necessary to have the remote pointed at the AC while flying, on the video, you appeared to have your back toward the AC while it was making it approach to the fence, was also wondering if being that near to the fence may have interfered with the signal to the Aircraft

    Agree with other comment. The target needs to be almost directly in line with the radar. DJI states 87 mph which I believe to be accurate. All the Mavic Series drones give an approximate top speed which I have seen to be extremely accurate. The aircrafts speed is regulated by the firmware. MA2 at 42.2 and M2P at 44.7. Those are both within a mph or so of actual speeds recorded. Enjoy.

    I'm curious when Tate was reading off his numbers what was the goggles reported speed? I'm interested to know if there is a large discrepancy.

    • @readysetdrone
      @readysetdrone  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's a good point. The problem is that I can't really look at the speed in the goggles while I'm flying that fast...I really had to focus on the center of the screen (what the camera is seeing) to keep it going straight. It would be cool if the goggles could give you a "top speed" after each flight.

    • @Canyon76
      @Canyon76 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@readysetdrone Yeah I was thinking that might be a problem. Doesn't the Goggle (Screen record) record everything that is on screen including all the HUD data? If so, you could review the speed later and pair it with the radar speed. Just a thought.

    • @marcoreviews
      @marcoreviews 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Let's agree that unless you know what you are doing 40 is already super fast considering how heavy the drone is. People were saying it can 90 but maybe if 70 is the max that is a good thing. Most people don't have the reflexes required to control a drone at 70 so you did an impressive test run!
