However, should you crash the drone as it is an fpv drone after all can you replace everything on it at a low cost? Does dji have a warranty you can buy? I would rather be able to fix my own drone at a low cost then send it back to dji, wait a month to be able to fly again.
Watch the Verge Video about the drone. There he lists all the prices of each single part. Seems like you can replace pretty much all of it. He also says you can order all the parts directly from DJI.
Actually every part of the drone is replaceable which is pretty cool. I think you'll be able to buy replacement parts from them aswell, and DJI does have their care refresh plan that cover your first drone crash for a small fee and then another replacement for a slightly larger fee.
buying a real racing fpv drone is gonna be a lot more durable and a lot less likely to break, as in i've slammed mine into the dirt at around 40 mph and haven't needed to replace anything. EDIT: Just realized you said handled [Motion] Controller. I seriously doubt they'll do that as THAT controller misses the thrust vector that is a key component of the acro/rate mode experience. You can use it in manual mode now: 1) You have to modify the remote controller's throttle stick so it doesn't return to center. 2) You have to enable manual mode on the switch in the Remote Controller submenu using the goggle menu system. 3) Finally, to get it out of M-attitude mode (or acro-trainer in FPV speak), you have to navigate one tab over from the switch configuration to first set your preferred ACTUAL rates and un-check the M-attitude limit box at the bottom of the rates settings. The default rates are SLOW, it's no wonder they put the acrotrainer switch under them :)
That would definitely be a safety hazard, as cool as the controller is. Manual mode is no joke, it takes many hours of sim time to even start feeling confident. Relying on a motion-based controller like this could cause so many problems. It performs excellently in normal and sport mode though. If I had any interest in buying this drone, i'd buy that controller so others could try flying it. It is much more intuitive than a joystick for many.

Can the flying image be transmitted to the goggles and a phone. So if someone doesn’t want to control flight can I put the goggles on them and they just be spectators
Yes but only with this drone right now. They advertised the goggles to have video out but failed to mention that only works with this particular drone.
prop guards dont work on a drone like this, they are not strong or light enough, meaning they ruin the handling while still breaking on impact. this compromise is already done by so-called cinewhoops, where the frame protects the props so you can fly (film) close to objects and people, but the handling and performance really suffers. the repairability of this drone is also not that great, most of the replacements are only done by dji care and not sold seperately
More important questions to answer especially since this is advertised as a beginners FPV drone could include information on the warranty, availability of parts, terms of service, repair time frame, etc....It's not a matter of 'IF' you crash the drone, it's a matter of 'when'. I have not heard favorable reviews from many when it comes to these matters. If you have ever raced in any other type of hobby, you know these things matter.
When it is dropped from heights after turning on the drone, after a certain height fall it should sensor that it is falling and should turn its motors on and hover. This is what I suggest as a upgrade in 2.0 version.

Influencers: Finally a FPV drone!
Everyone else:
I’m still waiting for “Top 10 Favourite Salad Dressings”
Prop guards will probably outsell this drone. I think it's gonna be a necessity to protect a thousand dollar investment.
Gonna need more than prop-guards lol
@@jdc8352 just give it a little cage, maybe just stick it in a safe for good measure
prop guards dont work on a drone like this, they are not strong or light enough, meaning they ruin the handling while still breaking on impact.
this compromise is already done by so-called cinewhoops, where the frame protects the props so you can fly (film) close to objects and people, but the handling and performance really suffers.
the repairability of this drone is also not that great, most of the replacements are only done by dji care and not sold seperately
@@drkastenbrot I'd only buy if it was 400 bucks. And it would only be a novelty item. Build for so many reasons, as you know
1 word. It amazing and just can't wait to get my hand on it. Presentation wise it is perfect. Keep it up.
Those goggles look like they inject WIFI straight into your eyeballs to control the FPV drone!
I was doing pretty well on saving my money until I saw this.
😂😂😂
I've seen potato jet since 50k subs, For real I admire you gene
Nice to be a review from a film maker's point of view, by the way a nice studio equipped to record videos independently!
Sport mode: weeeeeee!
Me: weeeeeeeee!
When it is dropped from heights after turning on the drone, after a certain height fall it should sensor that it is falling and should turn its motors on and hover. This is what I suggest as a upgrade in 2.0 version.
dji is pretty close to making "Edith" a real thing lol
#1 feature is also my the most favorite feature, too. I've been waiting for it for years.
DJI keeps making AMAZING products :)
I knew as soon as i received that email, this was going to ruin my bank account
I’m excited for this, but mainly because I think this will drive demand and price down on the dji mini 2
Good to know dji is going to keep on evolving though
Favourite features:
Every single thing the drone does
Wow. Well done, DJI!
All the wonderful Sci-Fi features implemented. Amazing!
I'm sure no one's fully watched the vid before commenting😂
I did
lol im on #4 and i had to see what people say about it
I cant believe people think this is "new" technology... lol holy shit
The first iphone was not new tech, many models of smart phones before it......but you know the story since then.
Launch is actually in 23 second from now... lol
Excellent review. Great job of quickly and comprehensively covering all the features!
Got yourself a new subscriber! Can’t wait to see more of your videos! Hopefully I can pick this drone up before the end of the year!
If I'm going to get a racing drone, I'm not wasting a dime on Dji crap.
Have fun flying with a connection that looks like a 60's television. Digital is the future my man.
@@alexanderwoolverton2813 obviously you haven't heard of Epson Moverios. Go do some research and then get back to me kid.
@@busterhoodstar4447 it literally runs off of dji software, it says right on their website LOL
@@alexanderwoolverton2813 so are going to be stupid sheep and buy this Dji junk, or are you going to buy some Epson Moverio goggles and use them with ALL your drones?....
