DJI FPV - Flight Time Test - How Long Can You Really Fly It?

DJI claims that their new FPV drone can fly for 20 minutes on a single battery charge in perfect conditions. But what about in the real world? We test the flight time in acro and normal flight modes, plus compare those to how long the drone will hover in place. We took each fully charged battery down to 25% and then calculated how long it would theoretically fly if the battery went down to 0%.

As usual Kelly, great field experience testing and video edit for us droners to review. I slowly am starting to warm up to maybe getting the DJI FPV Drone? I am not a acro droner but understand how this DJI FPV is a game changer for flight time from traditional FPV custom or almost ready to fly FPV drones. Filling the nitch between camera drones and hard core FPV droners... actually pretty smart of DJI marketing department.
I know the effort that goes into making these videos, so thanks for that and sharing it.

Great testing, this helps showcase what you can really expect with different flying styles. The last result was the closest that I have seen someone come to the advertised flight time on the DJI FPV drone so far flying it steady and normally. I'd say based on your testing it's probably safe to say that for most real world scenarios (not controlled flight style/path or hovering in place) 10 minutes or less should be expected.

It’s not that hard you just have to be ready to fix stuff after every session. Force yourself to learn acro in a sim then transfer to actual quads, one day it’s like a switch flips and your brain goes “oh ok now I get it” then going back to a gps drone will feel so foreign and constraining. Keep at it you won’t regret it (well your wallet might)!

This product is great for people just getting into FPV with it's trick software that enables anybody to fly immediately. You definitely pay for the convenience it gives you, ($150 per bat) but hopefully it will make people want to become more interested in the FPV hobby as a whole and maybe build one in the future👍🏻.

if i have an SD card on the drone and goggles and push rec does it record on both sd's? noob question, i know. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to record directly on the drone it only seems to record what's on the googles. I feel the quality would be better if I'm getting it directly from the drone.

I ordered one of these and will prob wreck it in the first min lol.....but I'm so disappointed on the battery life. Especially when the mini mavic is rated 30mins.
I just want to know if this is actually good for the speed etc it does. Do proper racing drones do much longer than this, batterys ways....and is this battery life kind of expected of something with the power it has?

    20 minutes promised
but you might add 3 footnotes ... explaining
    * flying in normal and eco at same altitude up n down bring 18.30
    **
*** under 8 minutes arco - full power at 15°C
real word is more or less just 10 minutes ... 6 batteries to recharge each used to fly battery after battery and to give each battery after charging a 20 minute cool down phase ... would mean 750€ in spare batteries at least.
too much money or too less flight time ... unfortunatelly.
