    brushes scratch the paint

    This is pretty cringe worthy...
#1). How do you keep your brushes clean? They will eventually pick up stuff, I don't see a gritguard or anything similar in the bucket. I think you are just picking up small pieces of dirt and just brushing it all over your car.
#2). Your cleaning method goes over the same spot tons of different times in several different directions. Meaning, high chance you will get scratch marks whenever you pick up any sort of dirt/dust/particles/etc...
#3). When cleaning, you should probably stick to top and work your way down. On the front driver side you started top and bottom but them hit the bottom of the front driver side and the proceeded to go back up to the top on the front hood part of your car.
I understand the whole aspect of speed but then why not just get a pressure washer and go to town? You mention washing it several times a week meaning you would not get too much dirt/grime/pollen build up that a pressure washer and good soap will not knock out. Your method will show lots of micro scratches to your paint at the rate you are cleaning your car.

exactly my thoughts. even on my brand new 2017 hatchback (base model), I still use the two bucket method. takes me about an hour and a half, not perfect, but more than enough to do the job.
you NEVER use brush on your car except wheels (even some people use a very light brush). this hatchback will eventually look worn out when those micro scratches begin to merge and go deeper.
if you don't have the time to do it, then find a better way. use tarp tent, hire a detailer once every 2-3 weeks; there are a lot better options than rushing to clean your car in 10 minutes. this is no better than going inside a car wash drive thru.
just do it right, and do it right the first time.

Lj Castillo I can understand his desire to want to get it done quickly. I need to devise a quick, easy method of washing. Living in New Orleans, this summer heat will kill a man and bi-weekly details would become a massive financial expenditure over time. I'd like to find like a hand mitt on a pole basically. would allow for faster work without the scratching of the brushes. Personally I'm not agaisnt a good auto wash, but my girlfriend's sport touring has too many crazy angles and bodywork that I know an auto wash would completely miss.

man, and he put this video out there basically telling people that this method is absolutely okay and wont harm the cars paint. Imagine now 7000 people are at walmart buying brushes to clean their cars . He is better off leaving it dirty for 2-3 weeks and then just doing a proper wash. this is nuts. Please change the title to "How to NOT wash your car in 10 minutes" please, for the love of cars. PLEASE

Great video! Top notch editing. maybe a video about leather care? or cosmetic/performance modifications that either will or wont void a Honda civic warranty.

I would've liked more information on the exact cleaner you are using. Looked like a type of Tuttle wax cleaner but I'm not sure. This video is great - but I'm still too lazy to wash my car myself so I just take it to a car wash lol I just got my 2017 Honda Civic EX-L Sedan in white yesterday and I love it so much!

What kind of cleaner do you recommend for leather seats. Plus to make them shine as well.

Never ever use brushes on your car , soft washing mitt and a large micro fibber drying cloth and two buckets with grit guards. Hose off the car first before washing. If you don't have the extra 20 minutes to do that, don't wash the car at all

Hello Friend Greetings. I wanted to ask you if your honda civic, has information system of dead angle and cross traffic system. I do not know what your civic model, but here in Spain there are only three finishes of 1.5 turbo.
What I wanted to ask you is if you get ahead on the left or right you get a luminous warning in the exterior mirrors. The camera system in right mirror in europe is not available.

Majority of the cleaning is blurred out. And the video is time lapsed. No guarantee that your cleaning literally took 10 min. That would’ve been 10 min worth of video. This just looked like it was done in a rush. If you’re going to narrate the entire video, you don’t need to take up 1/3 of the screen. Sorry, it wasn’t the kind of video I thought it was.

How did you dry it? with the sun or with something else?

    • @grahamlancaster9587
      @grahamlancaster9587  7 ปีที่แล้ว

No drying for me. Just sunshine and the breeze. Sometimes a fast drive. One of the reasons I got a white car.

Graham Lancaster doing it that way could result in minerals from the water etching into your clear coat, giving you permanent water spots. It would only add a few more minutes to dry the vehicle down with a towel.
