Sound like you need to bleed the fluid there is air stuck in it re grease the calliper springs and put everything back together and see what happens. Usually air in the hydraulic system will compress before transferring the energy to the calliper so you get a pause before it engages

Blow off valves, or atmospheric dump valves to give them their correct name, are just for sad posers and have no positive effect on performance. Proper drivers would rather keep the boost pressure up between gear changes for quicker throttle response.

After four years of ownership and 121.300 miles (averaging 34.1 mpg) of my 2018 Civic EXT (CVT), I pretty much follow all those techniques. I've never redlined. In fact, I rarely exceed 4K rpm. I rarely take short trips where the engine/transmission doesnt properly achieve operating temps. I drive about 60% highway. I always apply the parking brake, even on flat terrain (good driving practice). When reversing, I come to a full stop before shifting to Drive. I only use top-tier fuel. And for about three years I was using Shell 93 Octane exclusively . But over the last year, due to the explosive rising cost of fuel, I had to revert to Shell's standard 87 Octane (I recently started filling up with Shell 93 again). I change the oil/filter early (between 3,800-4,200 mile intervals). Change the engine air filter every 10,000 miles. Changed the transmission fluid three times. Cleaned the fuel injectors once. Changed the spark plugs early (at around 70,000 miles). Replaced the water pump, drive belt, and PCV valve at 117,000 miles. Thats it. Wth this aggressive maintanenace, I plan to get at least 300,000 miles on the engine/transmission without repair.
