I LOVE my black fudenosuke so much, it seriously changed the game for me as far as lettering. I hope they come out with as many colors for these as they have for the super popular dual brush pens. I like this type of brush pen a lot better, but there isn't really a variety of colors from pretty much any brands that I've seen. In that sense, I kind of enjoy the more subtle/muted look these ones have, since other brush pens I have are already those super bright colors.
I actually really like that the colors aren't super saturated - it's what I've been looking for! But I can totally get that you'd want more saturation in a primary colours type pack. The red is the only one I'm not super happy about, I think it should've been, idk, darker? Maybe cooler? More red, even if it's a less saturated shade.

I didn’t notice the lack of saturation until you pointed it out. I think I was too distracted by how much I love the tombow fudes in general haha

I am SO glad you mentioned that "flop"! I wasn't sure if my tips were ruined!
They're currently $22.50 at JetPens with free shipping over $25 order. Just got a set yesterday and I LOVE them!! I am much more comfortable with smaller brush pens and these are the best for me. I guess I wasn't bothered by the saturation. Happy no bleed through. My second favorite are the pentel sign brush pens. Ease of use it top priority for me. Love your videos!!

I got these in the specialty box about the same time that I ordered my Funwaris And when I swatched out both of them on the same page you could totally see that the zebra Funwari were much more vibrant! I hope you are going to consider the zebras in the ThunderDome…
I noticed mine weren’t as vibrant as I expected as well! Not very inky. Still great though!
I'm not sure if you have considered this brand for your brush pen thunderdome (I love your thunderdomes!), but could you examine the MozArt line? I've heard varied reviews for them, mostly positive though. Thank you!
Wait there are Pentel brush pens different from the sign pens? Is that why I'm struggling? I'm going to say yes!
I found them to be ever so slightly brighter in my Nuuna than my STM, but only a tiny bit. From everything I've seen on them, they are just not as saturated as ppl had hoped.
As for the pen colour names, they are on the pen (or at least on mine, I have the Japanese packaging) just above the barcode, but as you said they are just red, pink etc

I would love for you to review the Prismacolor hand lettering set. I think everything that's in it is also sold separately, so you may already own the components. I'd just love to hear your thoughts on it.
I've seen it at Walmart and Target.
I have this set - and I love them. In my experience you do NOT have a bad pack, this is how they are. IDK about you but my brown is weird - thinner than the rest? Anyway, I do love the pens but I totally agree that you can get better saturation with Kelly's. (I don't have the pentel pens yet, but have also compared the Fuds against a lot of others and they stand up). The one thing would recommend is the next time Michael's puts paper on sale, grab yourself a Canson marker pad. Those work the best for marker swatching and practicing with lettering. Speaking of Michael's, KrissyAnne is on sale this week. I had to pick up more Steves and saw the whole line was marked down so I grabbed some stickies and other stuff - Steve is my favorite though...that's my boy right there. :D Love you Cindy...have a great weekend!!!
Amazinggg reviewww!!! I waited so badlyyyy for my tombow colored fude! I felt like amazon sent me dried out pens seeing their saturation.. i really expected juicy bright colors...!! Like you mentioned the control is amazing but i m disappointed with saturation...! I might return them. 😢
Erin Floto also reviewed these and had similar issues with saturation. She compared to the Tombow dual tip with matching caps and the color difference was stark. I don't think I could bring myself to buy these pens at that price.

I've been hoping and waiting for this review. I got my set on launch day and I was curious about your thoughts on this set of pens. Mine aren't nearly as inky as I was expecting and hoping they'd be. I like the color and vibrancy well enough, and I LOVE ALL my other Tombows, but these didn't live up to the hype imo. Maybe I just have a bad batch?
I have heard that from quite a few people so you aren't the only one saying it!
i feel the same about my set .... there cannot be that many bad batches .... I'm not a fan of these pens

i actually like the look of the saturation you got, if i can find them i would love them if this is the actual color they are supposed to be :D
I love the brightness. It's why I use Mildliners. The brights in my planner makes me have anxiety...lol . I f I add anything that is bright, it is a sticker or Flakes. You might like Japanese Masking Seal Flakes vs stickers. That would be a cool review. Kiss-cut stickers vs Flakes.

What notebook are u using?
Tomoe River paper is coated so they should be really saturated on it. I can send you some pages from my hobonichi if you want to try it.
I got these from Tombow as part of a special box. I love these! I need the dual tip grey! I can actually letter with these because even after taking your class, I still suck at lettering... just saying. Also the Pentels for me shadow and these do not.
are these pens good for beginners?
Have your tried/ or wanted to try the KARIN brushmarker pro pens? I caved and ordered the full set of 60 + the metallics but I’m super impressed. They do sell singles and smaller packs as well. I’m so new to lettering I thought it would be awesome to see someone I “know” use them- majority of the TH-camrs I find are from Germany or Poland ... I would just love to see your take on them ❤️🍆
