- For the first time in actual decades Tombow has added new colors to the Dual Brush Pen lineup! Do these 12 colors enhance the collection or are they unnecessary? Today I’m taking a look.

Loving them. Got them. Already had the ninety-six colours. New marker colours are indeed a very exciting thing!!!!!! Had to have them.
Wow. You do great swatch tests and I love your commentary. Tombow truly should hire you as a consultant. As many markers and pens that you have and taking in to consideration how much you love markers and pens, you should dedicate a specific journal for your swatches. You could even make specific formats, specifically for pens. It would have specific spaces for specific tests with explanations of what you’re looking for. You know, bleed through, shadowing, smudging, fading after erasing over graphit, smoothness, opaqueness, etc.

Swatch pages are the main reason I want a Happy Notes notebook. Add in new colors as they come, keep companies or medium together.
I have the 131 and 569 of the new set. Nice colours 😊
The Mauve color is GORGEOUS
What about one bullet journal just for swatches so they are altogether instead of spread over more than one journal??
My Creative Life I’m thinking of doing this with all my pen sets! I have a ton of EC dot grid books!
@@JenSteed I have mine swatched and added to my happy planner disc system,this way if i want to redo any swatches for any reason the page can be easily removed and pages can be easily added.
@@MyCreativeLife I bought a happy planner notebook to do just this, as I need things alphabetical/numerical and can easily switch pages around, awesome idea!
@@ChelleBeeby I got the happy planner punch and make my pages using white Rhodia dotted paper....so it looks like a bullet journal just with discs
I use an A6 Nuuna for all my swatches. The paper is bright white and doesn't bleed or shadow. The dot grid is too small for planning so I'm glad I found a use for it.
Michaels has the new Tombow Tropical 10 pack and it has 6 of the new colors in it!
These new pens are outstanding. I love the vip box options too, and the fact that it’s a pick & choose rather than another subscription box (I seriously don’t need another subscription in my world). 😹

I was most excited for the Jet Blue. I needed that color for my September spreads. I am also a completionist and have to have ALL the pens. I'd be interested to see how you store them. The case that came in the VIP box is kinda worthless and the new 108 pencase won't fit in my pen cart.
I've been waiting so long to hear what you think of the new colors! I'm hoping to get them for christmas along with the 108 case and I totally agree. I love pastel so Alice Blue is definitely on my radar but I haven't seen someone compare them to existing colors. I love all of the new ones so much, but it's good to know that some of them are like must have additions and others are pretty similar to existing colors

Great overview! I kept thinking Alice Blue looks a lot like Glacier Blue. Is it really significantly greener side by side?
They're all pretty. My surprise favorite was the Mauve.
I will probably pick these up later to complete the set.... as far as other markers, I feel the Ecoline brush pens have the best color selection. I also like the consistency of the ink. Ecoline does not promote this but they are also easily refillable.

Half of the new colors are in the tropical 10 pack so it will probably be cheaper to buy that and the other 6 colors separately.
I wish I lived in the USA/Canada area right now...I'm in France and Tombow didn't release those colors yet. I'm looking at the Tombow Europe website every damn day, since Tombow USA website doesn't ship overseas *tears*
Loved your video though, I have a very clear idea of where those colors place in the Tombow color chart ! Can't wait to get them now :P
I got these on the VIP sale and love them! Used the N52 (?) to do all the lettering on the front of my Christmas cards this year! Have you seen the new Sharpie brush pens? I know that Sharpie has had giant brush pens out for awhile but these are in the pen line and I think they are pretty good and have a nice price point for using to practice - when you don't want to waste your "good" or expensive pens on practicing. I'd love to know what you think. BTW I got mine from amazon.com - prime, of course.
Thank you so much girl, I have been waiting to hear about these and wondering if I need to get them if I already bought all the other sets they put out. AND now I see they have a limited edition Citrus set and some other set and I think I need them both BUT I probably already have all the colors. Unless you see new ones in those too? Sadly I do not have the Tombows charted out in any manner. I bought the big zipper case for them and the holder that you can put like 96 in, and right now they are organized into duplicates and regular. Duplicates in a giant zipper bag for when I use up the regular one. My dog keeps stealing things off the coffee table so I put them away but now I wish I had left them set up :(. I had them all nice and pretty and by color family and everything! Gah. Such is the life of a Golden Retriever and 9 year old parent, right? I think my kid actually knocked them over which was the reason I put them away. I think he was playing with the dog. Anyway. THANK YOU and I am struggling not to buy the citrus set over here. #tombowtroubles

Have you tried the Punctuate Double Ended Brush Markers? I believe they might be exclusive to Barnes and Noble. I’m just barely starting to learn brush lettering (I’m quite awful) and haven’t tried a lot of brands (no tombows yet which seem to be the gold standard), but I tried the punctuate and found them so much easier to use than the other pens I have tried. I was finally able to get a noticeable difference in my up and down strokes. I’m interested to know your opinion.
Hi! I´m building my collection on Tombows brush pens. I´ve discovered that I have one brush pen that says Acid free and one says Waterbased. Do you know what´s the difference? Is there any difference? I found thar the acid free works as watercolor and the water based is more of a regular brush pen.
I got most of these in a new set I found at Michaels just before Black Friday - tropical, was the name. I think I got all except the grays. But I’m not sure :).
It comes with half the new colors: alice blue, jade green, pink punch, mauve, bright blue, and tiki teal. ^_^

Call me weird but I had NO IDEA TOMBOW was that old!!! Holy shit I’m 38 I had no flipping idea... I jumped on the wagon with my bible & planner and throwing coloring in them both about 5 yrs ago with tombow... so I’m all about getting these new colors.
I really hate that most of my numbers have rubbed off on the Tombow. So annoying even with the swatches I’m searching and comparing...ugh
same ughh😭 they need to step up their game like Copic markers.
i think Copics have a coating so the number doesnt come off.
@@alnino5293 I agree. In the meantime I used transparant nail polish over the numbers so they wouldnt fade! Maybe it could help you too in the future😊

You could get the new folding box it will hold all the old n new colors! They carry it at michaels to so you can use a coupon!

Carrie Young it's the tropical palette. I just picked it up from michaels; it has 7 of the new colors, two from the originals, plus a colorless blender. The image on the package is of a tropical fish.
Since when do tombow colors have names and not just numbers? Or did you come up with the names? Mine only have numbers lol
