    In today's episode we are getting behind the wheel of our friend RB's beautiful Honda NSX. That's right, this is a genuine JDM classic. This mid-engine, rear wheel drive icon is a car that will certainly turn heads wherever it goes, but is it worth the hype? Would you import this right hand drive supercar? Drop a comment below!

      Grew up in Japan and watched my neighbor buy one in 97 new and Ive been in love ever since. Living in the USA now its cringey how people think ... off about them. The biggest thing is calling it a "supercar". NSX was New Sportscar Xperiment not Supercar. Still learning about it. I know 91 was hand made so yes Id say those are worth those higher prices. Aiming at getting a 97 though as those were manufactured to my understanding but they started doing the 6 speed with the C32B that came in the NA2 but is still an NA1 with popups. Gorgeous car, built to do a job and it won and still runs great!!!

    I personally think the NSX is one of the most beautiful cars ever made, in stock form. It really is timeless. Modding them is cool, but a clean, unmolested one really is a work of art.

    • @p9r4ex8dyk
      @p9r4ex8dyk ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately most of them are modded out such as the one in this video with the massive wang. It is quite difficult to find an original NSX and those are the most valuable.

    I lived in Japan during the heyday of these, "Gran Turismo," cars. I saw them in the wild all the time, and just thought it was normal. Now, looking back, I realize that I never appreciated what a special time it was, and what a privilege it was to live in such a place when it was all happening around me.
    To keep those days alive, I still keep a 1991 EF Civic and a Soarer in my garage, both mint. Never gonna sell either.

It does what it have to do, no special features, no surprise. But what you expect from this car... It reaches new dimensions. I love it. There is no need to have fast closing slices. It just need to do what its doing with much modification potential. Just a perfect car for me. I hope I will have the money to buy it someday. Many German Cars have lose their soul. Most don't realize the serious potential they have. Some with zero taste just love to put ugly black wheels on them, or worse, racing stripes. With the direction that our cars went in price, it's no surprise. And then you got people creating biased, misguided, or untruthful reviews. When youre talking about collecting multiples of same car... thats ALSO part of the reason certain cars are pulling upwards of 3-4x msrp's or bluebook values. for example - a 2000-unit example is fairly low numbered as is, rarer cars fetch more, common knowledge... If hypothetically 20-30% get crashed/scrapped etc, another 20-30% being sat on in museums or collections... Now were talking about roughly 800 remaining on-road units..That can dramatically change the landscape of the used car market. Then there are folks doing this with the sole intention of manipulating the market, i think vinwiki touched on this a while back.. anyways, nothing to really do about it lol and i dont think ill of collectors either, its just an unfortunate (for some of us) reality.

      Last I checked (and its been a few years) the NA1s are still decent. The NA2s are stupid but makes them more collectors models. As a car though not many were ever made period and they are getting lost to acts of god, traffic collisions, and theft so right now the prices are still going up especially being an all aluminum body if I recall correctly. I hope I can get one one day. Definitely a goal for me.

      The thing is we all have this old Jdm dream car but at what point do you finally say hey these are old out dated cars and there’s much better choices, you buy these cars for its history and that’s really about it, my dream car is the Rx7 but we all know it’s issues and why would I go that route knowing the location of it’s oil filter lol all I’m saying is you can have a better car for the money you’d spend on an old Honda haha

    • @thefuzzypickle8277
      @thefuzzypickle8277 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@brianreynaga4524 then you obviously don't appreciate older cars. Not many people buy them because they're the fastest or quickest on the track. But more so the way it feels, drives, and even some nostalgia from childhood. The more mechanical feeling the have compared to the heavy computers that are driven around anyday. I'd rather put up with a bad oil filter location (as if thats a problem lol) then driving some boring ass car.

      @brianreynaga4524 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Fuzzy Pickle my guy as said above I love Rx7’s and was really getting close to buying one but instead I’m sticking with my turbo brz(farthest thing from boring) which is probably one of the most analog cars like the Miata, all I’m saying is I’m not rich and most of us aren’t I turned my daily into a project and now looking for a cool $5k “daily” , if I had future old nsx money I wouldn’t go for and old Honda lol

    Have you ever been in a wreak Alex? You may think diff about the harnesses. Unless it wasn't a bad one that may throw you from the car. People come out of stock belts in violent crashes. They rarely come out of harnesses. If you hit 140 in your Porsche the stock belts just became useless. Those belts are rated for normal highway speeds.

    • @thefuzzypickle8277

      How? You have to physically press the button.

    • @rbfortier131
      @rbfortier131 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has an electronic cutout as well. Once you go over 40 you can shift into 6th without hitting the switch

    • @tizodd6
      @tizodd6 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thefuzzypickle8277 Unless I'm understanding it wrong, the button position determines whether the transmission goes into reverse or 6th gear. Foretting to press the button again after going into reverse would leave that shifter position as reverse. So when you're in 5th, shifting to 6th might attempt to place it in reverse.
      Someone mentioned there's some kind of 40mph failsafe though, so that would help.
