1. Oil (pull up records, or if they changed themselves, be mindful.)
2. Check valve covers for oil. If any oil residue or smell burning oil, the covers have to be changed (can mark the car down for this)
3. Turn on the car. Make sure ur not blowing white smoke. White smoke is bad vibes.
4. Any mods. Make sure the mods are not harming the car. Also tuning. If tuned by a reputable tuner, could be a potential buy. If not, decline car.
5. Interior: door locks. Window motors. AC/HEAT run thru every mode. Make sure they all work. Make sure radio works. Steering wheel analogs (cruise control) make sure they work.
6. Control arms. If they’re leaning towards frame, they’re shot. An ez fix. Can mark down a little bit.
7. Drivetrain. Make sure it starts up. If it doesnt, starter prolly going bad (dont buy). If spark plugs are bad, ez fix. At idle/rev if idle drops, there is a vacuum leak, ez fix. Oil light are BAD vibes. If there are any engine lights, ask what is is.
8. Transmission. Test all gears, if they go into gear, good trans. Test at 3-4k rpm. If it goes into gear, good if not, bad. If any grinding, transmission is bad. 03-04 trans are bad. Go up to 05-06 trans.
9. Steering. Important to know, could be control arms or couldve been in a wreck.
If white smoke that's bad? Why? That's just too much engine oil right?

Can you explain the transmission a lil better im new to this. What do yhu mean on the last sentence saying 03-04 trans are bad. Go up to 05-06 trans. Do yhu mean year of the car (03-04)? Or the gear ratios?
This video might as well be called “what to check before buying any car” he didn’t even cover real problems of this actual car lmao. Didn’t talk about the cam sensors, crank sensor. Also don’t know why he said “u can mark the pride down if the valve covers leak and just say hey nissan charges 800” who takes their car to the dealership to do a valve cover change. If you’re buying a tuner car you gotta have the basics of doing mechanical work, valve cover change is not hard.
what bout the 07 trans
I bought a 2004 model because didn’t want the burning oil rev up engine. Overall I love the car. It looks fresh even in 2023. Truly timeless.
I go an 04 the beginning of this year and unfortunately oil consumption is a feature of VQs lmao

Saving up for this car and this was extremely helpful as this would be my first car purchase as I was gifted my first car by my grandma so knowing all these things to watch out for helps a ton, still got about a year to save up for it but I finally have a goal in life

Something else to look/listen for is the rear diff. I just bought a g and didn't notice the rear diff whining and now i gotta replace it soon.

Hopefully picking up a 06 G35 end of this week. Great maintenance, bunch of replaced wear out parts, 145k miles but almost all highway, almost no rust, aftermarket rev9 catback, stage 2 competitive clutch, swapped headlights. Selling from 5000. Sounds good?

Need ur input, buying a 04 6 speed g35 this week for 4.3k, already drove it and check it, apparently he put a engine with 87k in the shell and the odo is 137k from OG engine, coolant temp gauge on dash does not work, need passenger side window motor as it’s stuck at a certain point, definitely need alignment and new set of lug nuts. Did not see any leaks or damage underneath, it drove and pulled fine and the motor sounded very healthy. Is it a good deal? Or should I just buy another Miata haha? LMK ASAP PLS…
You def want the coolant temp to work if you do buy it. I’ve overheated plentiful times from air bubbles in my coolant system. Ofc if you do it properly in the first place you don’t have to worry about it but

I am looking at a g35 that has 170,000 miles on the body and 103,000 on the motor for $5,500. He says it runs and drives the brakes might need replaced soon. Good deal or no?
Just make sure the person isn’t lying to you about the motor. But the price is pretty high for that g35.
@@tridentfd8482 He has paperwork from the dealer to prove that the engine was swapped. What do you think I should offer him and any problems I should look for?
Because the chassis has so many miles on it I’ll prolly offer him $3,800-$4,000. Also you should look to see if the suspension is in good condition because it has so many miles and check for oil leaks on the engine. If you could, ask the person if they can take the g35 to a local mechanic shop for an inspection offer to pay for the inspection and make sure your there with them. If they say no then that’s a red flag.

Yeah you could ask for the inspection from Nissan it might be like $100-$150 ish , but it’ll be worth it. This will make you feel more comfort about the purchase. Just call a Nissan or Infiniti dealership and ask them if they can inspect a Infiniti g35 for you.
