I saw them on this tour in Minneapolis (Bloomington) at the old Met Stadium. Severe thunderstorms, tornado warnings, heavy rain, but the band played on. We cut up pieces of the infield tarp and used it as rain gear. In those days security never searched people so we had pocket knives. I recall Pablo Cruise and Steve Miller were the opening acts. I also seem to remember something about purple microdot. Ah, the 70’s.
Every single member of The Eagles was also a singer. These guys really didn't slack off when it came to their vocal work! Take a listen to Seven Bridges Road if you want a sample of all of them singing and harmonizing perfectly. And then when you want to be absolutely blown away by a single vocalist, watch Queensryche - Take Hold of the Flame, live. I mean it... Queensryche. Your ears will never forget that vocalist once you hear him!
Led Zeppelin at Wenbley,N W London 1975, Pink Floyd with 18,000 @Earls Court, West London in 1973, and in successive weeks both Creedence Clearwater Revival and Deep Purple at The world famous Royal Albert Hall in 1972 and the cost to see these 4 brilliant groups in 4 Concerts at 3 wonderful venues? "2.25 or THREE Dollars:) Led Zep=$1 Pink Floyd $1.34 and Feep Purple and CCR 34 Cents.😀
Red-bandana'd guitarist is Joe Walsh, & his song "Life's been Good" is his uniquely complex guitar+ playing with his cleverly humorous perspectives' hit, Emma! 😜👍
The wonderful music of my youth (high school.) The Eagles, Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, YES, Doobie Brothers, Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, RUSH, Supertramp, and dozens more . . . just dive-in and explore 1968-1977!
It´s important to understand for someone who´s new to the Eagles game that - in this line-up - the Eagles have 4 (four!) main-singers, not just drummer Don Henley (only the lead-guitar guy with the double-neck guitar - Don Felder - is a "background"-singer). Watch more from the same concert! 🙂 For example: Bassist Randy Meisner singing "Take It To The Limit", rhythm-guitarist Glen Frey singing "Take It Easy" and solo-guitarist Joe Walsh singing "Rocky Mountain Way" (backed-up wonderfully by drummer Henley) ... take all these songs from the same Live-concert, this one here.
*Eagles* Hotel California !!! One of my all time favorites and next up by the Eagles another of my all time favorites.... Take It To The Limit... The girls all loved it when Randy (bass) hit those high notes at the end.
It takes a special kind of musician to be a lead singer/drummer like Don Henley. The guitarists are Don Felder with the dual-neck guitar, Joe Walsh with the red bandana, Glenn Frey on the acoustic guitar, and Randy Meisner on bass. Each one can be lead singers on any given day of the week which makes the Eagles a special kind of band, and one of the greatest.
Great Reaction. Your pauses are valid and on-point and, naturally, thanks for not interrupting that wonderful finale. I'm English but when I think of The California that I visited in 1979,I think of The Eag,les.
Those twin-lead guitars.... .descending arpeggios are too gorgeous. Joe Walsh looks so happy to be a part of that collaboration, fun to play and the result is so satisfying! Joe and Don..two of the finest.
love your taste in music. Eagles have a whole library of great songs. Don Henley, the drummer is lead vocal on the majority of songs with Glen Fry , the guitarist with the FuManchu mustache(2nd from the left of the 4 frontmen) singing lead on some, and Rany Miesner(on bass) taking lead only on Take it To the Limit. If you love "Hotel California", also check out the live version from their "Hell Freezes Over" album/tour. It's epic.
I absolutely love the whole album that this song is from. An amazing song from an amazing band. Another song you should check out where the drummer sings the main vocals, is Dust to Dust by The Warning.
Don Henley (the drummer) had solo hits too. You should check out the official video for his song "The Boys of Summer." You should also do the live Eagles song "Take It to the Limit" from this same tour. It's sung by the bass player Randy Meisner, he can really hit those high notes.
Eagles are my favorite band. I saw them live 6 days before this concert was filmed. I suggest Desperado, Best of my love, Wasted time and the Last resort which are all song by Don Henley the drummer. I have seen them 11 times in concert and Don Henley once as a solo. They never disappoint.
Nothing sounds like a Gibson EDS-1275 Doubleneck guitar. That flourish when Don Felder is playing the upper neck sounds incredible. The instrumentation and vocals are top tier,…. Next level stuff. My favorite song,..then Stairway and Freebird!!! Loved your reaction on this one Emma!!! 🔥🎸😀✊✌️
Welcome once again to the fabulous 70s! Love watching your expressions hearing this. The vocals were so tight with their whole repertoire! Don Felder and Joe Walsh on electric guitars in this collaborative solo/duet was something at the time was unheard of. 😊
This is the music I grew up on. The Eagles were a great 70's band with so many hit songs. They were known for their great harmonies. "Take It Easy", "Lyin' Eyes", "Witchy Woman", "Desperado", "Already Gone", "Best of My Love", "One Of These Nights", "Take It To The Limit", "New Kid In Town" etc. Before they went solo they were the back up band for Linda Ronstadt.
I was a teenager in the 70's and grew up listening to them. They were one of the greatest. I love your channel, and the way move. Beautiful. If I'm not mistaken, Glen also sings their song Life in the fast lane.
Cuando les rindieron tributo en el Hall of Fame , me dí cuenta de la gran injusticia que el grupo sacara a Don Felder porque sin él no hubieran logrado tanto exito
EMMA.. You want to hear a beautiful voice? Try Take it to the Limit from this same concert with the bass player Randy Meisner as lead vocal.. ir is AWESOME!
They all sang incredibly good! I saw them live 12 years ago, it was amazing. Desperado is a super beautiful song by them. I could name so many but i'm just gonna go with that one lol
Eagles are one of my top three favorite bands. When my sister and I were very young, around 3 and 5, (around 1980) my dad had an 8 track of their greatest hits album. Mostly we listened to vinyl, the 8 track was sort of a special treat. We loved that tape. Also, I nearly spat my coffee out when you mentioned your goldfish memory.
one of my earliest memories is jumping on my sisters bed listening to the eagles when I was 3 or 4 in the early 80's. that and ozzy's first album shaped my entire musical life.
Don Henley is the drummer. He went on to have a semi-successful solo career. My favourite songs from him are "Boys of Summer", "For My Wedding", "Everything is Different Now"
@@markvanderstelt8999 Well he is more successful than i thought. I live in the UK; the only song anyone except diehard fans will know here is Boys of Summer as none of his other singles made even the top 80. Album sales outside the US were quite weak. But apparently he's sold over 12million in total worldwide which is decent.
Several band members went on to have solo careers, and had hit songs. One of the guitarist, Joe Walsh, "Life's Been Good." The drummer, Don Henley, "Boys of Summer!" And the regular guitarist, Glen Fry, "You belong to the City!" All hits!!!!
Huge Eagles fan here, going back to the '70s. Now that I've qualified myself as not a hater, I'm going to tell you how Don Henley is able to drum and sing like that. He lip syncs. Don't even bother coming at me because it's been proved over and over beyond the shadow of a doubt. When you consider the amount of money the Eagles charged for tickets, yes, it's a scandal. Having said that, trying to perform a three-part harmony whilst drumming is going to be extremely hard to pull off. Still it doesn't change the fact that it's a sham. And I love the Eagles and I'll never stop listening to them. This song in particular holds a special place in my heart, but the truth is the truth.
All stars who had their own careers who came together to make great music. They all sing. Different songs have different lead singer. Love your reactions..
The Eagles are Legends! Great song. Listen to "I can't tell you why" or "Desparado" of Take it Easy" or "Witchy Women". Just to start with Emma! Thanks for sharing my friend!❤️❤️💛💛🦅
If you want to hear another Eagles song that will blow you away with a completely different vocal style, you really need to react to I Can't Tell You Why.
Back before they started miming. This is a great track from a great album. Here in the UK the song was everywhere. This reminds me of long hot summers listening to Capital Radio, who played the song at leat a dozen times every day.
The best version of this song is the extended intro from the History of the Eagles tour. There is a video from their performance in Sydney Australia. Video was amazing, seeing it live later that tour, no words. I've seen them several times over years luckily with all of the original members still alive (if not on stage There is a song they used to do as a warm up exercise. It wound up being included albums & set lists. 7 Bridges Road. I can't reccomend it enough
Desperado is a good one from Henley's time with the Eagles. End of the Innocence is another good one from his solo career which he co-wrote and performed with Bruce Hornsby
The greatest rock song of all time... I was 23 when this song came out in the college.. The days of the 33 1/3 RPM..LP ies & the record players... cassettes were just coming out.. Don Healy is a great singer & drummer...he has lots of his own solo song singing..latter Love ❤ from Madras ( Chennai ) TN Southern India 🎉😂
Don Felder wrote the song"s music. He's the tall guy playing the main theme on the double-neck guitar. He recorded the music at home on a tape recorder and took it almost ready for the others; only the ending double guitar solo was worked out with Joe Walsh and their manager. But the lyrics were written by the singer, Henley and Frey. It became a timeless work.
The first of many times I’ve seen the Eagles was in Frankfurt in 1977. I was stationed there at Rhein Main AFB. Joe Walsh the guy with the bandanna had some great hits before the Eagles and Don Henley the drummer had many hits after the Eagles:
Great reaction, to here another song by the drummer [ Don Henley ] do the song, Desperado. To here Glen Frey sing, do Lyin Eyes. And also listen to Randy Meisner do Take It To The Limit.
I saw them on this tour in Minneapolis (Bloomington) at the old Met Stadium. Severe thunderstorms, tornado warnings, heavy rain, but the band played on. I also seem to remember something about purple microdot. Ah, the 70’s.
Love this band, they can sing, harmonize and play instruments like no other
So many amazing Eagles songs. So many singers in the band.
One of my fav groups and songs, just a lot of memories attached. Glad you heard it.
Please listen to Life In The Fast Lane. The dude playing the guitar in the red bandana is the legendary Joe Walsh! ✌️❤️🤘
Saw them a week later in Virginia. Admission was $8.50 ! Still have the ticket stub. Great concert!!
Red-bandana'd guitarist is Joe Walsh, & his song "Life's been Good" is his uniquely complex guitar+ playing with his cleverly humorous perspectives' hit, Emma! 😜👍
Randy Meisner Take it To The Limit live.
Great Eagles song for singer's reaction!
Please respect the Eagles boycott since they block their original recordings from YT contributors.
Almost everyone of the guys in the band sings songs in the band. They take turns. Almost everyone of them had a amazing solo career as well
For more of Don Henley (the drummer), "Desperado" would be a great example of his voice and songwriting prowess. 🤘😎❤
Take It To The Limit, live is from this concert as well.
Make sure its the old one
I've seen the Eagles in concert three times, and they were fabulous at each one. I'm hoping they will tour in my area sometime in the future. 🦅 🥁
Excellent reaction such an iconic song and super band later beautiful.❤️😎🇺🇸
The Eagles are a supergroup. Several of the guys sang lead on their various hits. Each having a distinctive voice. Very impressive band.
Each one also divas and primadonnas. That's one of the main reasons why they broke up. 😂
The Felder/Walsh guitar battle is legendary.
You want to hear more of that singer? Lucky for you, Don Henley had a nice solo career too!
You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave. One of the best lyrics in Rock and Roll history.
Please respect the Eagles boycott since they block their original recordings from YT contributors.
Amen!
One of my all time favorites
"Some dance to remember, some dance to forget"
Nah it sounds cheesy, there are lots better
One of my Top 5 bands, with Beatles, Pink Floyd, Doors...
It´s important to understand for someone who´s new to the Eagles game that - in this line-up - the Eagles have 4 (four!) main-singers, not just drummer Don Henley (only the lead-guitar guy with the double-neck guitar - Don Felder - is a "background"-singer). React to “Desperado”. Don Henley, the drummer, also had his own solo career with many great hits.
*Eagles* Hotel California !!! One of my all time favorites and next up by the Eagles another of my all time favorites.... Take It To The Limit... The girls all loved it when Randy (bass) hit those high notes at the end.
Most of the band members are great singers (as others have said), but your descriptions of Don Henley's singing was spot on....love his sound!
Love the eagles 👍🏼
The guitar solo is one of the greatest guitar solos ever recorded l
This is a Masterpiece !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He another Phil Collins in the air tonight playing drums and singing! Great Talent
It takes a special kind of musician to be a lead singer/drummer like Don Henley. I'd like to suggest Joe Walsh, Rocky Mountain Way.. its excellent!!!
Seen them live in concert at the aud in buffalo new york awesome concert awesome band good memories ❤
this was a great tour (1977). I also saw Lynyrd Skynyrd that year in concert
The dual guitars at the end make it worth the wait.🤩🤩
Great Reaction. Your pauses are valid and on-point and, naturally, thanks for not interrupting that wonderful finale.
I'm English but when I think of The California that I visited in 1979,I think of The Eag,les.

You must listen to the song (Sometimes love just ain't enough) performed by the Eagles drummer Don Helney & former Scandal lead singer Patty Smyth.
Don Henley (Eagles drummer/vocals) - Boys of Summer, from his solo career.
This is such an iconic performance...from both The Eagles and you.
I absolutely love the whole album that this song is from. An amazing song from an amazing band.
Another song you should check out where the drummer sings the main vocals, is Dust to Dust by The Warning.
It's new compared to their other stuff, but I really like "Waiting in the Weeds". The drummer (Don Henley) sings lead on this one. Great song!
Since you asked…
Take It To The Limit
New Kid In Town
Both Live 1977 (same concert, different singers)
Don Henley (the drummer) had solo hits too. You should check out the official video for his song "The Boys of Summer." You should also do the live Eagles song "Take It to the Limit" from this same tour. It's sung by the bass player Randy Meisner, he can really hit those high notes.

Lyin' Eyes, Seven Bridges Road... so may great ones
Best guitar duet ever! Great, great band to see in concert! They're currently playing a residence in Vegas! Go see them while you still can!
Oh Yeah! Love it!!!
The Eagles ,true legend American band
Life in the fast lane. Same singer
The theme of my youth! You need to listen to the entire album. Not one clunker on the whole thing
Emma, with your musical knowledge and the love you show for music, it's hard to believe you have missed out on a lot of these classic songs.
And they all can sing lead! Linda Ronstadt put this band together!

It’s been up for 5 hrs and Diqhed Don hasn’t struck yet? I’m surprised.
And for you Hitchhikers' Guide To The Galaxy fans, 'Journey of the Sorcerer' from One Of These Nights.
Only 2 members of the Eagles were members of Linda's band. 😊
A great list, but also check out Seven Bridges Road!
Please respect the Eagles boycott since they block their original recordings from YT contributors.
"My goldfish memory" lol
I was a teenager in the 70's and grew up listening to them. They were one of the greatest. I love your channel, and the way move. Beautiful. If I'm not mistaken, Glen also sings their song Life in the fast lane.
Cuando les rindieron tributo en el Hall of Fame , me dí cuenta de la gran injusticia que el grupo sacara a Don Felder porque sin él no hubieran logrado tanto exito
"One of these nights", features the same lead singer.
The guitar duet with the descending arpeggios is unmatched!
What does arppegious mean. I know spelled it wrong llol
One of the best bands ever!!
EMMA.. You want to hear a beautiful voice? Try Take it to the Limit from this same concert with the bass player Randy Meisner as lead vocal.. ir is AWESOME!
She did react to Take To The Limit in her old Channel, before it was stolen.
They all sang incredibly good! I saw them live 12 years ago, it was amazing. Desperado is a super beautiful song by them. I could name so many but i'm just gonna go with that one lol
Just commenting to say hi before Don Henley has this reaction blocked. :)

And I love the Eagles and I'll never stop listening to them. This song in particular holds a special place in my heart, but the truth is the truth.
Seen this video many many times, but I was too young to have seen them in their pre-1980 best phase.
Song those shoes off of The Long run album is one of Don Henley's best vocal performances
The singer is Don Henly. He did a great duet with Stevie Nicks called "Leather and Lace"
I hope this video wont get blocked. This song/video almost always gets blocked. Great reaction Emma!
We just have to count ourselves lucky to see it before Don Henley finds it.
@chrissmalley83 yes don should just leave them alone! The reactors are doing free PR for the group
Love the denim jacket. Back in the day the more cool patches u had on ur jacket the cooler it was
Best guitar duet ever.
Drummers are musicians. Many are multi-instrumentalists. Why should they not be good singers too.
All of their songs are great. Listen to “I can’t tell you why”.
This was my parents favorite band. This became one of my favorite songs of all time.Great job on your reaction Emma.
Don Henley. Dirty Laundry. Glenn Frey. Smuggler's Blues. Don Felder. Heavy Metal (Takin' a Ride). Joe Walsh. The Confessor.
I never knew how to feel after listening to "Hotel California." It's a song that's hard to react to, even to this day.
The Eagles are a great band. A few different versions throughout the years. This live show was one of their best. Emma!!! ❤️😍🥰💕💘
Joe Walsh one of my favorite guitarist since the James Gang rides again check it out Funk #49. Here is the one with the bandanna on his head.
Love your reactions. Be careful with The Eagles, many people get a strike from their team of lawyers.
Awesome reaction! If you can find it there is an "unplugged" version of this song that starts off with a beautiful classical guitar intro.
The best version of this song is the extended intro from the History of the Eagles tour. There is a video from their performance in Sydney Australia. Video was amazing, seeing it live later that tour, no words. I've seen them several times over years luckily with all of the original members still alive (if not on stage
There is a song they used to do as a warm up exercise. It wound up being included albums & set lists.
7 Bridges Road. I can't reccomend it enough
Drummer is Don Henley, as a solo artist check out BOYS OF SUMMER.
Desperado is a good one from Henley's time with the Eagles. End of the Innocence is another good one from his solo career which he co-wrote and performed with Bruce Hornsby
You should listen to Riff Raff by AC/DC Live at Apollo Theater 1978
Listen to "Desperado", then listen to Linda Ronstadt's version. They were her house band before going out on their own.
The greatest rock song of all time... I was 23 when this song came out in the college..
The days of the 33 1/3 RPM..LP ies & the record players... cassettes were just coming out..
Don Healy is a great singer & drummer...he has lots of his own solo song singing..latter
Love ❤ from
Madras ( Chennai ) TN
Southern India 🎉😂
If i was 30 yrs younger.....
One of the greatest songs ever written!
But it's a copy.
Classic rock 101
Desperado is one of my favorite albums ever, end to end. The Eagles are quintessential American rock. Thank you for the reaction.
Oh, nearly forgot, if you want to listen to some crazy harmonies by the Eagles, "Seven bridges road" is a must !!!!
Absolutely! For me, it's their best song.
OK! WIll do! thank you!😘
One of my favorites, also Those Shoes.
The first of many times I’ve seen the Eagles was in Frankfurt in 1977. I was stationed there at Rhein Main AFB. Joe Walsh the guy with the bandanna had some great hits before the Eagles and Don Henley the drummer had many hits after the Eagles:
Eagles were definitely supergroup but Henley is still very protective of the business side. Careful .
Live versions I believe are always safe, but I am not a lawyer, so, who knows.
Great reaction, to here another song by the drummer [ Don Henley ] do the song, Desperado. To here Glen Frey sing, do Lyin Eyes. And also listen to Randy Meisner do Take It To The Limit.
Hi Emma - Please react to I Can't Tell You Why AND Take It To The Limit. You'll love the Eagles journey.
