My guys! yYall have inspired me! My dads 2014 fiat 500 abarth has been sitting broken down undiagnosed for years now in the garage... seeing this project makes me actually wanna take that one on!

Take things little by little and it’s easy to get even an engine swap done lol. We’ve never done it before but doing things in an organized manner helps a lot

Also next time the axle nuts need a thin walled socket. The black impact sockets are too thick.

Great video you guys. You knocked that shit out fast! Great work!

That frame extension at the beginning is held by two bolts from the low center cross brace that go through the two welded nuts.
Also the axle nuts are one time use so it's best to get new ones anyway.

So there not being any going through those two welded nuts is definitely not good

@@wellseegarage did you have a lower cross brace when you started?

Feel really dumb rn if that’s what goes through there, yes we did. It was the first thing to come off lol

You just needed a socket with a thinner wall and you would have been done. I think walmart or harbor frieght has a 12 point socket that works perfectly

I know this is old but that wiggily frame thing at the beginning is held in by the two bottom frame bolts on each side that hold that metal bar that goes across the bottom of the oil pan.

Felt like I did the first motor wrong but I still loved the car/didn’t get to enjoy it. Now I wanna do everything right to push the car to its limit and hopefully enjoy what the car can potentially be. Both mechanically and cosmetically. While documenting the whole process to hopefully share and gain info all the while.

I might add a couple more things as I see it but in the future home Depot sells sockets that are perfect for things like those axles, they are 16 points and very skinny

I'm watching this because I'm trying to figure out how to remove the line going from the top of the transmission to under the car.

The shifter linkages? Just gotta pry them out with a pry bar or something, might take some force.

@@wellseegarage ooooffff that's a scary idea and what I thought I might have to do but needed to be sure before I put some force into! I hit the sub button thanks for the video!!
