In this video I correct the issues which caused the gun to clog, the runs, and the stripes. So here is the deal, in my first attempt to spray metal flake in clear coat I went to heavy with the flake coat. I was watching the flake and not the clear. I also did not have enough flake in the clear which forced me to use more clear laying it on to thick. The gun also clogged with the 1.8 tip so I ended up with some stripes on the hood. I ordered a 2.0 tip which did solve the clog issue then added more flake to the mix allowing one heavy fast pass which gave me exactly what I wanted and expected. I am by no means a professional painter. I am learning just like most of you. As long as I am able to resolve my issues and end up with good results I have nothing to complain about. Its all part of the process. I had fun learning and now have a solid plan to finish the rest of the cab. After the rustoleum paint job is complete I will start the air suspension install, stay tuned.
