A lot of cosmetologists really believe in the products they use. There’s so much research that goes into it. Many people not in this profession think we’re just selling products for money but it’s not really true. As a professional we pick the products we truly believe will help our clients hair.

I was a teen in the 80's, when every girl had her hair permed and teased to within an inch of its life. I chose to use hot rollers instead of perming all through my late teens until my mid-twenties. Pop the rollers in, do my makeup, take rollers out...perfect hair! I'm glad to see more hair with volume returning.

For people out there with curly hair: Put the rollers in your hair after applying the product and while your hair is still wet. Then blow dry it until it is fully dry and remove the rollers. Go back in after with the blow drier and a brush to neaten up the roots a bit if necessary. I hope this helps
@@godisgood2206 that depends on your hair type, sounds like low porosity hair so it’s holding onto the moisture, it just takes longer to dry than more porous hair. My ex’s mum was the same, she’d spend like 30 minutes blow drying
@@godisgood2206 depending on how curly your hair is. You can dry you hair to like 60% and then roll it. But make sure you tension the hairto stretch the curl. You actually need more water to help stretch the curl
Nope. I wear four rings on my left hand and two on my right and have worn them for years. I use either hand sanitizer, water, or hold my hands above my head when they get stuck. Easy peasy.
I've been using roller sets for nearly 20 years. They're seriously a godsend, as I really just have to plug in my rollers as soon as I wake up, put them in my hair right before I leave for work, and take them out in my car before I go into the office. They're seriously so quick and easy.

Hells yah! My mom would use rollers on my hair for church. In middle school, I used the pink spongy rollers that you would use when your hair was wet and sleep with them in. Shirley Temple curls for the win!
YES! my mom put hot rollers in my hair when I was little and doing dance recitals, but she didnt use big ones, she used small ones and gave me ringlets, I looked like Shirley Temple. She eventually switched to doing my hair with the sponge "sleep in" curlers that were the worst.
When I was in cosmetology school I always had my mannequin heads in my car so when we can me and my girlfriend are going out to the bar and these guys were kind of following that we roll the window down and reset hey do you guys want some head and they said yeah so we showed them the two mannequin heads in the car and we are all cracking up
You should never yank on rings when they are stuck. It causes your fingers to swell and makes it more difficult to remove your jewelry. You should rock the rings side to side while gently moving it down off your finger to avoid swelling. I hope this is helpful to avoid and future panic 😉
@@SshhhTrouble do the front first, and you should have a decent feel for how to do them. Then it is just up to the length of your arms. My hair is slightly too long for me to comfortably do rollers by myself, I have tried.
BRAD To get rings off, use a small pea sized amount of conditioner next to the band and rub it all the way around, then spin the ring off. It helps lubricate to help get it off SO much easier. I have the same problem a lot. 😂

Stettafire you can set your screens so they have like a slightly yellowish tone to them, standard screens emit a lot of blue light which is super harsh on the eyes so it’s good for you to have it on that setting particularly before bed! :)
@@Stettafire there's an app I use called Twilight with gives the screen a red tint, you can turn it on and off, and it helps with sleeping because blue light keeps you awake. I understand it as something like this (please take what I'm saying here with a grain of salt, it's just how I explain it, I'm not a scientist, nor have I researched this) : The sky is blue during the day and your mind thinks it's day, and if you have blue light coming out of your phone it tricks your mind into it being day. Also blue light is just harsher or stronger.
Honestly my hair doesn’t hold aaaany kind of hairstyle! Like I get that beautiful volume but 5 minutes later everything is flat again. It’s so annoying

I have corse waist length hair & have been using hot rollers since the 7th grade. Plug the rollers in & let them get HOT, I plug in before I take a shower so they are heating while I shower & blow dry my hair. Use the all plastic ones not the ones with felt around the middle. Try to leave one roller on the set when your done & leave the rollers in your hair until the one you left is completely cool & so are the metal rods that hold the rollers, I usually do my makeup while the rollers are sitting. Don’t brush out your hair! Let the gravity pull it down naturally. This is my advice if your hair doesn’t hold the curl well.
Oh God same. I can curl my hair for 45 minutes,enjoy the full,fluffy, bounciness for 5 minutes and then.... BLAH. Flat as a pancake. I have to use a ton of hair spray now.
Girl yes. Rollers are so awesome. I use them all the time. I have super short hair (like above my chin) and its the only way I can get curly hair. To me, it works better than a curling iron and takes less time. Plus you can let it sit while doing your makeup. Its a win/win!
I decided to go back and watch your older videos because my mom has been a huge fan of your work and videos for years now. Your channel is so nice; I love your tutorials and I'm also very passionate about rollers/ rollersets. I was a dummy and let my parents convince me to go to university where I spent five years getting a damn English degree when I wanted to do hair. After I eventually graduated I got sick and then the pandemic hit and since I have an autoimmune disorder I'm mostly stuck at home waiting for my health to improve so I can go to cosmetology school. Avoid products that have glycerin in them! Glycerin and other humectants attract moisture from the air, which causes your hair to be over-hydrated and creates more frizz :)
For those of you who don't really want to hear Brad talk about his product for 6 minutes and then do a basic rough blow dry (I dunno why you wouldn't, but whatever) Curlers start at 6:31.
I haven't used rollers since high school and I picked up a set of medium-expensive large rollers (Babyliss) after watching this tutorial and it's my go-to styling technique now. I wash my hair after dinner and let it air dry/sleep. Take my shower in the morning, put in some product, put in my rollers, do my makeup, and by the time my curlers are cool, I'm good to go. So much volume for my fine hair!!! Add a little dry shampoo and some spray after brushing it out and I'm good for a few days.
Honestly, to me, the best part about hot rollers is they actually keep a curl on my curl-resistant head. Perfect solution for me without getting a perm/body wave

Chrissy Logan I mean there are different hair types that may need more or less of a product for it to work. Brad did mentioning in the beginning when he was applying Glitterati that you have to try and see how many pumps you need to get results. Despite the ordering site saying that only one pump is needed, Brad is being honest and shows how he’s using more than 1 pump, and stating what I mentioned earlier.

Last month I got a hair cut. Had it cut to just at my shoulder blades. A couple weeks ago I bought a hair curling rolls set. Today, while using your video as a guide line on how to put hair curlers in, I used them for the first time. Afterwards, as my entire family told me, I now look like a very blonde Shirley Temple.
I’ve learned to love using rollers. They turn out well on my long thick hair, and honestly, it’s a lazy look. As in, damp-doh hair, some product, and 10 minutes later, I can get some sleep and wake up with great curls
I wanna see him try to follow a pattern for a 1940s pincurl set! Honestly I love rag curls and pin curls, it’s often what my mom did when I needed my hair curled for a show (we didn’t own a curling iron for a long time)
This 68 year old Lady, no kids, just dogs, loves hot rollers. Rollers are the only way I can get volume and bounce with my fine somewhat thin hair. All these newer high end devices do nothing for my hair, even in the hands of a pro. I stopped getting blow outs because I would go home and put my head under a faucet. Spray a little windex on the finger. We used to do this when I worked in a jewelry store and people would come in with stuck rings.

just spin them around your finger going slightly upwards, it works as well
Or just run your hands under cold water, blood leaves the hands, skin contacts, rings come off. Or use lube

Have you tried curling the hair then clipping it up and hair spraying onve they're all clipped up and let it sit for a couple minutes or a wet set

I just discovered Marc Jacob's curl creme and it's amazing against curly frizz! It's cheap too, I got it on Amazon
Avoid products that have glycerin in them! Glycerin and other humectants attract moisture from the air, which causes your hair to be over-hydrated and creates more frizz :)

I haven't used rollers since high school and I picked up a set of medium-expensive large rollers (Babyliss) after watching this tutorial and it's my go-to styling technique now. I wash my hair after dinner and let it air dry/sleep. Take my shower in the morning, put in some product, put in my rollers, do my makeup, and by the time my curlers are cool, I'm good to go. So much volume for my fine hair!!! Add a little dry shampoo and some spray after brushing it out and I'm good for a few days.

Guess what Mom gave me just a couple of weeks ago? Literally the same brand, same rollers and everything! One of the few things that mom and I agree on, though, is that those metal clippies suck. Chrissy Logan I mean there are different hair types that may need more or less of a product for it to work. Brad did mentioning in the beginning when he was applying Glitterati that you have to try and see how many pumps you need to get results. Despite the ordering site saying that only one pump is needed, Brad is being honest and shows how he’s using more than 1 pump, and stating what I mentioned earlier.

Rollers were one of the first ways I felt like I could control my curls in the 90s before natural hair was a thing.

Last month I got a hair cut. Had it cut to just at my shoulder blades. A couple weeks ago I bought a hair curling rolls set. Today, while using your video as a guide line on how to put hair curlers in, I used them for the first time. Afterwards, as my entire family told me, I now look like a very blonde Shirley Temple.
When I was little I loved having my mom put my hair in rollers 🥰
I’ve learned to love using rollers. They turn out well on my long thick hair, and honestly, it’s a lazy look. As in, damp-doh hair, some product, and 10 minutes later, I can get some sleep and wake up with great curls

This 68 year old Lady, no kids, just dogs, loves hot rollers. Rollers are the only way I can get volume and bounce with my fine somewhat thin hair. All these newer high end devices do nothing for my hair, even in the hands of a pro. I stopped getting blow outs because I would go home and put my head under a faucet.
