    You are such an amazing person, I watched more than 20+ videos for body butters, you are the only one who mentioned every small and important detail, also in a very smooth easy way, you made it smooth and not complicated, you’re really a positive person, thank you for everything, you made me more open for the idea of making my own business with body creams cuz I wasn’t so sure 💛🙏🏻

      Coconut oil dries out my son's skin. He has eczema and even though alot of people say it's so good for people with eczema, that is not the case for my son. I've used Babassu oil and it has worked great too.
      Just wondering, how you combat the grains? It's nice and smooth for me at the beginning but over time, grains develop when I have a high percentage of butters.
      Thank you, I enjoy watching your videos.

    Ahh. So after watching this video countless times and slowly accumulating all the ingredients (I’ve been spending too much on soap items 😂), I finally made this yesterday and it is DIVINE. The scent stays on even after I wash my hands in dish soap! I honestly did not like the scent of Love Spell when I smelled it in the bottle, but in this lotion it’s just amazing. Thank you so much for this tutorial and the recipe. ❤️❤️❤️And merry Christmas!

    It feels so luxurious and the Arrowroot really cuts down the greasiness and helps absorbtion.

    The problem with coco butter and coconut oil is they can clog pores. You could use muru muru butter and kokum butter. I also noticed you are using bleached and deodorized shea butter (it's white) it's better to use the natural stuff (light yellow) and melting can cause the finished product to be grainy.You can still whip the butter without melting it. The rest of the products you're using won't clog doors but I'd eliminate the coco butter and coconut oil, especially if you're selling it.

    You could omit the coconut oil altogether, the rest of the butta's in this whip are sufficient the only other thing I would leave out is the arrowroot powder, for me using the lighter oils help with quicker absorption and are not greasy or oily feeling.

    So I’ve never used Babassu before but I always think of it as a liquid oil. Is Babassu a solid oil like coconut oil? Because if it’s a liquid oil, won’t that make the body butter recipe more fluid if you just swap it for the coconut oil straight across??

May I ask, do your butter still have a chocolate scent when you are finished? I have been trying different ways to mask the chocolate scent so that it won’t overpower the actual scent that I’m going for. LOL You ride the struggle bus? 😂 I have many years experience in graphic design & believe me, I don't have a lot of fun doing labels either. I can come up with great concepts, sktech them out, I'm great at getting everything aligned, choosing fonts & so on, but god almighty, labeling is something I dread every time. Currently figuring out how to make it less of a struggle bus ride for myself 😂
    I wish Online Labels didn't hose Canadians so much for shipping, otherwise I would use them. Their shipping prices are pure thievery. I ended up ordering a load of kraft labels from Mr Label - $5 or so shipping for a huge stack - and got thousands sent to me from China. Now I'm going through the layout process *ugh* and then having my local small community printer run them off for me with her commercial laser printer.

      It can beige it up a bit, but I haven’t had any major color morph.

    Does this need a preservative? Also, will fragrances with vanillan in it discolor the body butter?

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Vanillin can discolor lotions, but not as drastic as in soap.. This formula does not require a preservative because it doesn't have a water phase. That being said, I do suggest using one if you're selling the product.

    Ellen, thank you so much for giving us such amazing recipes . I was just curious do you think you could substitute the arrowroot powder for some calamine powder . I have a daughter in law with eczema . Just thought this might be a calming effect?? Would appreciate any thoughts you had. Thanks as always- Janet

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I don't think calamine would be a good sub, because it would sit on top of the skin and leave a "color" behind. It would make a good salve or lotion for irritated spots, but probably not an all over butter... I haven't tried it, those are just my initial thoughts.

      @@janetcaird6807my son and nephew has eczema and Ellen's formulation should be fine for your daughter in law, given she does not have any sensitivity to any of the ingredients.
      The key I found with my son is to put it on right after you take a shower. When his skin is irritated, it is best to apply multiple times a day.
      My nephew who is in his early twenties does not like body butters. Even with arrowroot, he says it's still too greasy for him. Instead, he likes a thick cream type lotion (water based emulsion) where it does not leave an oily feel. Maybe, also give Ellen's thick lotion recipe a try? I found, even with my son, water based lotion really help because their skin is already dry so some type of humectant really helps. I formulate with 10% glycerin and add aloe.
      Good luck finding something for your daughter in law.
