    I use a whisk to add the oils/EO-FO/Preservative to the sugar first - to moisten it without having to worry about the waxes thickening and clumping it. Then I add the melted butters and waxes and whisk again and it doesn't clump. A canning funnel with a 1/3-1/2 measuring cup as a scoop - it fills the jars super-fast and doesn't make a mess. The rim stays clean and dry. Thank you so much for sharing the recipe. My first batch came out perfect. I use small amounts of colored clays to give the mixtures a color to compliment a fragrance.

      Ellen, should we be worried about destroying properties when melting the hard butter? I make my scrub in a crock pot, I melt the butters and waxes on LOW, then add the rest when it's cooled down considerably. Even on low it got to about 190 , maybe I should melt in a double boiler. Have you temped the butters coming out of the micro?

      My canning funnel didn't fit in these jars... But it's a great idea.

    This is great! Can you make an emulsified whipped soap and body butter if you haven’t already?

    These are so gorgeous, thank you so much for sharing! May I ask, what is that incredible font on the label that says "bergamot and mandarin"? It's such a delightful font!

    Thanks for sharing great recipe. It made my skin very soft. I did notice the oils kind of sat on the top, so everytime I use it, I would have to stir it in again. Any suggestions on how to have the oils not sit at the top after cooling? Thanks

      You can add a bit more sugar, and they won't seperate

    Made this recipe today, turned out fantastic. Could Polysorbate 80 be added? What would the recommended amount you would think?

    • @EllenRuthSoap

    I absolutely LOVE all of your videos! Thank you for taking the time and explaining everything so well! I would love to try making my own. I’m just a little confused about the fragrance oil calculations. Could you explain which numbers your using for the “by volume?” Might need to treat myself to some of your products for Christmas 😊 they all sound heavenly.

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The volume, or weight of all the ingredients is the "total volume". That's the # you use to calculate your F.O. and preservative.

    Hi Ellen!
    I love the products & labels you've made. Thanks for sharing your recipes, but I have a question about your labels, are they waterproof since they're bath products by chance?

    • @EllenRuthSoap
      @EllenRuthSoap  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks 🥰 the Kraft labels I use are not waterproof…. In the future, I’ll probably switch to a plastic label…

    Happy thanksgiving Helen, one suggestion, when making my scrubs I use the pitcher with spout to fill the jars. It’s easier and less messy

      I've not worked with it, so I suggest a small test batch to see how you like the finish.
