    I have been trying to get blue black results with henna and indigo for a long time. My hair is naturally meduim brown. It seems like i always have some red popping through and i have been getting frustrated. Almost to the point of going to get a box black dye. However, i have been having some issues with my hair health, so i really didn't want to do that. I have never heard before about using the henna indigo combo in the first step. This might be just what i need. I will try this tomorrow for the first time, and let you know how it goes. Thanks for the tips.

      Update. I used the henna indigo combination for the first step, and I ended up with a WAY better base color. Instead of that auburn red color, it was more like a rich dark brown. In the second step I left the indigo on for a full 4 hours. After the rinse, I was so much happier with it! It's not completely blue black, but it is definitely almost there. By the time I finished it was dark outside, and my light in my house isn't great, so I will have a better idea of how it looks tomorrow. However, this evening my hair definitely looks quite black, and any highlights are really dark brown instead of red. So much better! I will continue to use this method in future, and maybe it will eventually get to blue black. If not, and I continue to get this black with a hint of brown, I will certainly not be unhappy with it. Thank you so much for this video. My hair looks so much better, and I am extremely pleased with my results.

      @@jbach1738If henna and Indigo don't get the results you want, as Indigo will eventually fade after a few months and your hair will go back to brown, you can try Adore hair dye in blue-black; it's a semi-permanent but very pigmented and in my experience lasts a long time, it's also really conditioning and won't damage your hair at all (im not a brand ambassador or anything just a fan of that hair dye)

    Addendum:: Tried it last night. I added Amla to the henna and aloe powder to the indigo. I also clarified with your Cassia and Neem hair wash and then washed the Henna and Indigo out with your Co-wash. I didn't get the black I was looking for the but brown is very dark and most of the copper is gone.. Most importantly the gray is covered and my hair feels amazing!!!!! Thank you!!

HS is a brand that can help grow out hair, with consistency and the correct products. Anyways, I'm getting gray TOO fast, I think I will try indigo for the first time ever... With HS of course!!

    Thank you for putting this video together. I've been using henna and indigo for years by mixing them together and applying it to my hair to keep my black hair jet black. I'm just now starting to get gray hair, I found about 4 strands, and I noticed the gray hair is turning reddish brown because of the henna and theres only a few spots within the gray hair itself that has black marks on it. The next time I do my hair mask I'm definitely going to back in for a 2nd round and just use the indigo powder like you mentioned I'm option 2.

    I have a lot of gray now especially in my temples. I always do my roots dark brown black with a 25/75 henna indigo but will do the rest of my hair (when I refresh the lengths) with a 50/50 henna/ indigo or sometimes straight henna. Sometimes I mix up some of my root color with a hair mask to refresh the lengths. I kind of tackle it like I would salon color. Just do regrowth with something strong and a glaze or lighter color on my lengths. I just don’t look as cute with jet black hair anymore sadly. Actually with chemical hair dye you shouldn’t go in with straight black you just put red underneath as well. Same concept with henna with indigo . Thank you

    With my hair I have to do an entire pack of indigo. I only mixing in the indigo about 15 minutes before I’m applying the entire thing all together Then I have to mix only a tablespoon or less of Henna. If I use more Henna than that, my grays come out orange. When I mix my henna separate, I add the aloe vera powder and the fenugreek. The combination smells amazing but this is the only way I could get my hair, dark dark brown. The maximum amount of time is 2 1/2 hours to three on my hair. If I do more than that, my hair comes out really dry. These are the only products I’ve ever used and I have it down to a science now.

      I followed step 1 directions, and added 2 tbsp amla and 1 tsp aloe. I used 50g Jamila henna, 50g indigo. I let the Henna sit for 4 hours, and indigo 25min. I let sit in hair for 4 hours and rinse with one of the the cowashes from Henna Sooq. My hair is originally dark brown. There a minuscule, MINISCULE, amount of red undertone now. No super visible different. I am doing the pure indigo with 2 tbsp salt and 1 tsp of aloe today.
      One thing I will note is I got a massive headache for 8 hours. I had to take Tylenol max strength twice. Please use caution and beware.

      Results are in. After the 2nd step, pure indigo, my hair is a noticeably darker, deeper, cooler, brown black. It looks blue black indoors. Outdoors, it shows dark dark brown (almost red) in direct light. I’d say this is a success. I will keep repeating with pure indigo a few times to see how it builds over time. I am thinking maybe monthly for now. Hopefully I can achieve a blue black. If I do, I will update here.

      Indigo is primarily for hair dyeing and doesn't do anything from growth that we're aware of. You won't need indigo if you don't care about the coloring unless you don't want the henna to make your hair reddish tinted. Or consider other hair growth herbs like amla and cassia instead to avoid coloring that henna does.

    Hi Khadijah.
    You mentioned in one of your comments to dye hair every four to six weeks but do root touch ups in between. Do you mean the entire length of the hair must be dyed every 4 to 6 weeks ? And the root touch ups in between the four to six week period ?
    If that’s the case why does the whole hair need to be dyed regularly… will this whole thing wash out every four to six weeks?

    • @HennaSooq
      @HennaSooq  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hello. Henna can sometimes fade over time as does any type of dye (weather and elements cause this or heat over time) and it also grows out so it’ll eventually come out on its own fully over time. Henna hair dye lasts 4-6 weeks but depends on hair growth. That's why we recommend to color usually 4-6 weeks. People choose henna hair dye as they do not want to use chemicals so this is a true natural alternative. We hope this helps you make your decision on what would work best for you. Good luck!

    Well, I watched your video while I was waiting for my 2nd step to end. Sadly I started to have headaches and nausea after 3h so I rinsed. My hair is drying right now but it already seems dark brown to black. But I read that I should not do it again considering the headache... It's the third time I'm doing an indigo and first time I got this. Is it the mark ? Is it me ? I also had kind of an allergy to red henna when I was pregnant (same mark as this indigo). And no problem since the baby is born. So as an expert , what do you think? have I become allergic to indigo ? Is this mark toxic ? I've used it a few times before 😢. Thank you.

    • @HennaSooq
      @HennaSooq  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello. We can’t predict that as we can’t say how your body will react. But you can do a patch test on your inner arm to see and monitor this. If it’s only headaches then some take headache meds before or wear a mask or Benadryl. We hope this helps some. But do monitor it as we would not want it to get any worse for you or unbearable so always take careful steps. We hope this helps!

I then did the same with the indigo & left on for an hr to get black. I've had no issues getting great coverage this way. Is there a reason to wait for the dye release? @@HennaSooq First I did Indigo alone (now I know that was wrong). Second I did 50:50 henna:indigo, got a VERY light orangey brown; 3 days later I did straight indigo again, this time much darker, but my grays are still somewhat resistant. Do I include the 50:50 mix on subsequent monthly applications, or straight indigo? Thanks!

      @@itsawonderfulrvlife I'd recommend 50/50 in the first step and then indigo alone and which henna and indigo are you using from us as well? It'll eventually catch up but do use our Soapnut Hair Wash to clarify and open your hair up. Color your hair and then use our restorative conditioner afterwards

    I’m allergic to indigo. I’m looking for something else that can give me the black. Is there something else natural out there that can give the same effect of indigo? I’m stubborn and still use indigo but it hurt me when ever I use it. 😢

      Use a mask when mixing/ applying indigo. If possible, open windows or even mix and apply outside. Maybe try to see if wearing a mask, etc, might help? I don't know of another powder that can replace indigo.

      I think the allergic reaction is with contact on her skin/scalp.
