    If u wish to remove henna stains from ur hands, immediately after u finish mixing, wash ur hands with water and rub some lemon juice on the stains. The stains will either disappear completely or become very light and can disappear within a day after washing with soap twice or thrice. I do that and it works like magic!

    I've been using the two step method for years, to dye my ashy light brown (with lots of white) hair deep black.
    Never mixed in anything, never let the henna 'bloom' or anything. According to the instructions that come with my henna/indigo (brand Khadi) you don't need to and my experience that's true.
    I let the henna do it's thing for about an hour and the indigo for about two.
    Oh: and according to them, henna should be mixed with boiling hot water and applied as hot as possible, whereas indigo should be mixed with 50*C (120*F) water, to prevent a greenish tinge.

    Hiii Irene!! 😀😀😀😀😀Thank you for this video. Question for you. What if the 2nd step organic indigo powder that you added salt and water to doesn't turn indigo color before you apply it on the hair??? 😥😭😭😭😭😭 Usually, the indigo powder turns indigo/bluish within 10 mins of mixing the indigo powder, salt and water, however, this time it remained green at the time of application on my hair. Will it still turn my hair black? I did the 1st step and it was fine. Thank you so much if you can reply. 😊🙏

    • @Ireneathanasiou
      @Ireneathanasiou  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi LA! The only way to truly find out is to try it. Are you sure it didn't turn indigo color? Did yo mix it to see under the surface? In any case while you are placing the dye on your hair, that should give it more time to activate.
      Have you tried it yet? If so, what happened?
      Thanks for watching ❤❤❤❤❤

      Hey, Jan all the way from South Carolina! Welcome to our channel. ❤️
      I don't think you can make your hair lighter with henna. Henna will either color over blond with shades of red, or color over dark hair with a subtle tint of red. If you have dark brown hair with some greys, the only thing that can be done is what I demonstrated in the video which is dyeing it with henna first and then dyeing it again with indigo to achieve a dark brown or black. I hope that helps, Jan! I
      f you have any questions I'm here. Much love to you. ❤️❤️

    • @TracyD2
      @TracyD2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could use a one step process with henna and indigo. Like 50/50 or maybe less indigo then that. It could dye your gray a lighter brown mixed in with your darker brown. I would research the proper proportions you want in regards to the color you want to achieve. There are ways to make it less warm toned using Amla and cassia powders. You can make up a medium less reddish brown mixture and try that. I think the overall look of your hair would be lighter. Definitely strand test first. It’s hard to undo henna treatments though not impossible.

  • @katashley1031

    Anyone using indigo on your hair please note, you cannot use any chemicals over indigo, ever. This is what results in melted or green hair, which is often mistakenly attributed to henna, lawsonia inermis. Pure henna can be lifted with chemicals, you can use chemical dye over it, etc. I did it myself, for 15 years. But indigo is only for use if your color is meant to be permanent, or you have to grow it out and cut off the growth with indigo before using any chemical over it.
    Just wanted to share that. Indigo is fabulous for creating a beautiful, healthy, shiny black color, but it's very much a permanent color, total commitment. 😊

    I also dyed my hair with henna and indigo, but I thought that this is how you generally get the dark or black hair🤔 not just for the grey hair. I don’t have grey hair. I jave couple of questions, my hair became black -purple. I don’t mind the color itself, it’s nice, but is it normal that it comes out purple? I ordered I think from quite decent place witch is selling natural product. And I checked with some tips it should be the right henna. I also added a little bit of lemon juice, but next time I don’t add cus for some reason my head is very itchy after many washes. I dont know why its itchy. But next time can I just color my hair with indigo for the black color or what should I do? Oh and can I do amla treatment to my black hair sometimes?

    I want a natural approach to dye my hair without using the chemicals, but black peoples hair cannot stay dry and Hannah is very dry. Even putting it into your hair is hard for a black person because her hair is not just straight like yours. When I saw you putting it in you just kind of laid it flat because your hair is thin but our hair is thick, so what is your recommendations to make it an easier journey because I tried it last week and it was the worst for my hair.

    • @Ireneathanasiou
      @Ireneathanasiou  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello and welcome. You must use your hands to apply the henna on to your hair. Using a brush won't work. Apply with your hands ( wearing gloves), and try to section your hair parting it so that you can apply to the roots. If your hair is dry after using, you must oil your hair one week after this process is over before you shampoo.

      Hi Vany!! Great question! t's natural to see Indigo going with water during a shower. It wi ll happen the first few times you wash your hair. It happens to me as well but after when my hair is dry the colour is still very dark brown.
      After applying indigo it is important not to wash your hair with shampoo or conditioner for 3 days for the colour to set. How often do you wash your hair? The more you wash it, the more it will fade like any other hair dye. Try not to over wash your hair and also stay away from very hot water. what brand o f henna/indigo are you using? I wash my hair once a week so that it keeps the colour and also moisture as I tend to have more dry hair than oily.

      No, that's indigo. Pure lawsonia inermis/henna can be colored over. The problem is that most henna for hair contains other things. This is why using body art quality henna is important.
      Indigo, however, cannot be colored over, and has to be grown out. Colorinf over indigo with chemicals will result in green or melting hair.

      Henna is only one color, a vibrant orange red. It varies very slightly depending upon region, rain levels, etc. Most henna for hair is sold with other ingredients or additives to change the shade and color. Be very careful with that. Henna itself can be used after or before chemical colors, but other things like indigo cannot. Just FYI. There are no different shades of henna.

      @@irenerainy8only use per body art henna on your hair. Indigo cannot in any way be used on top of or alongside any chemicals. It will turn your hair green, or melt your hair. Henna shouldn't contain chemicals. Use only pure lawsonia inermis. And if you use it with indigo, you need tkm grow the hair out before changing color. Pure henna lone can be colored over.

    Amazing video! I had really bad reaction due to hair protein treatment last September. So I can’t use any boxes dyes! My only way to try is henna. My question most of my hair around my face is grey. The rest dark brown from my last dye.. I need to get my grey as brow light clour ,, I will use henna for 2 hours then apply indigo for maybe 10 min? Your thoughts please?? I don’t want to get black colour.. thanks sooo much for your reply! Regards from Ontario!

      Hey, Nadine! I'm also in Ontario!
      Ok, so if you have greys then you must first use henna ( which is a red hair dye) on your hair in order to move to the second step which is dyeing your hair brown. for a brown colour you can check out Khadi natural hair dyes. They actually have all kinds of colours and in your case there is a dark brown shade that you can try! That way, you wouldn't have to risk it with pure indigo if you don't want a black shade! :)
      Hope that helps! If you have any more questions pls let me know! Here is the link to their products!

      @@Ireneathanasiou thanks so much for your advice! I didn’t know about khadi products. From your experience, I could either buy from them dark brown and I don’t need to put henna at all , right? Thanks a bunch for your guidance!

      @@nadine6463 you always have to use henna first if you are trying to cover your greys. Without dyeing your greys red first, you won't get grey coverage if you directly use the brown.

    I have brown hair, which has greys at the forehead and temples, with a little bit throughout. I am wanting to have an Auburn colour throughout.
    I have had it dyed with commercial products lately
    (ie. L'Oreal, Nice & Easy etc.)
    Can I use Henna to get an Auburn colour?
    I live in Canada and will be needing to order the products
    I require.

      Hey, Coleen! Welcome to our channel! So, to answer your question, if you have brown hair you will not get an auburn color after using henna. henna will give brown hair a tint of red but not the rich auburn color you are imagining. More like the kind of red you can see in the sun. if you were blond and dyed your hair with henna then the blond would turn into a bright red or auburn shade. Also, if you have greys and directly color with henna, then only your greys will turn bright orange and the red of your hair will be brown with a tint of red in the sun . I hope this helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

      @@Ireneathanasiou I thank you for your clear explanation. It has been very helpful. I understand there is a 2 step procedure that can be used to get an indigo colour and covers the grey. You went through that procedure in one of your posts. Now I need to decide what to do personally. Have a good one. I'll be watching! 😊

      You have to make sure not to use very hot water when shampooing your hair and not to shampoo it too often. I wash my hair about once a week and I make sure I don’t use very very hot water tries to preserve the color for longer. For fresh look at you probably have to do it every two months or so. ❤️❤️❤️

    after say, the 30 min of henna, you say you wash it out with water, but you didn't say you dried your hair, ...And Then..... put the Indigo on.
