    I love the Moroccan henna powder. I use this first and let it sit for about 1-1 1/2 hrs. Then I follow up with just indigo. I let the indigo sit for about 1-1 1/2 hrs. This colors my greys perfectly. I also add aloe vera powder to both mixtures for moisture.

      Yes, my grey's were stubborn too. There is a video on Henna Sooq's TH-cam channel about the timing of henna to get certain color outcomes. This is what really helped me finally get my greys covered.

    • @dumbgenious1960
      @dumbgenious1960 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pamlats8113can I ask how you were doing the timing wrong? The only thing I noticed in her video was the different ratios in time. As I understand to get a dark color like black, you just leave the henna on for as long as you want, and follow up with indigo for as long as you want.
      Is there such thing as leaving it on too long?

    That is the way that I dye my hair black. It works for me. The only thing I did differently was the liquid that I used. I used distilled water with both of my mixtures.

    Very helpful upload. I like to soak hair in tub and fan it out while soaking and use strong shower head to further rinse out prior to using a cleansing cowash. The aloe helps as I do not compromise color by following with a deep conditioner. I use about 200g + aloe + Amla to maintain coils.

    I rinse out the henna as best as I can with water first then I start putting on conditioner . The conditioner helps the henna slide off the hair shaft easier. I keep a cheap conditioner just for this because it takes quite a lot. Rinse, then more conditioner etc. i find its the gentlest way to get the henna out. Last step I shampoo.

    My hair is like a soft black, so it still has a hint of brown in it naturally. When I do the two-step process, my hair never gets jet black. I’ve tried so many times. After applying the henna and then I apply the indigo, It just basically matches my white hair to the color of my natural hair. On the bright side at least there’s no more white hair.

      Try doing a 50% henna and 50% indigo mix (you have to mix them separately according to the directions, then combine them) for the first step. Then for the second step do all indigo. I find using indigo in both steps provides deeper coverage and darker color. Also I leave the indigo in my hair for 6-12 hours.

    So I've been taking meds for thyroid for many years and unfortunately, the meds have thinned out my hair mainly my edges which are grey grey grey. Because of my thin edges I wear wigs and box dyes changes the texture of my hair, I found myself dying my hair every two weeks smh. I'm definitely going to try this because I'm tired of wearing the wigs and I'm tired of the greys.

      Some people have been successful with the one step process with the indigo and henna. It all depends on your hair. My low porosity hair doesn't take to anything well. I do the one step process first and then follow up with indigo. When doing the one step process, make sure to mix them separately before blending the indigo and henna because the dyes release at different times.

    • @HennaSooq
      @HennaSooq  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello. When using pure henna powder (body art quality), and herbs for hair, you can use stainless steel bowls. Traditionally, they have used iron bowls, as it has been shown to bring more dye release. We typically use a spatula to mix it. We don’t usually use plastic bowls because they are porous, and the herbs will stain the bowl. The commercial boxes of henna, and henna “colors” that contain other ingredients, herbs, additives, metallic salts, etc..would cause reactions with metal bowls, then 100% pure herbs would.

    Can henna and indigo be mixed as a one step dying process instead of a two step process. I would like to mix 100 grams of henna with 25 grams of Amla, wait for dye release. After dye release add my 100 grams indigo mix to the henna and Amla mixture. Is this possible? And if so, do I still get black? Or a brownish color? Thank you!
    Edit: I found your video for the one step henna and indigo process ❤. Thank you!!!

      @isobel64 ปีที่แล้ว

      get both to do their individual dye releases (henna - 3hrs, indigo - 30mins) then add them together in one bowl.

    Does it matter if your curl pattern is loosened? My curl pattern is erratic anyway. My curl pattern changes depending on where you on on my hair strands so it tangles horribly. I thoght it may be a deficiency in my hair strand, and I was hoping henna could help make it more uniform. I love your henna products and the aloe vera powder really helped with the moisture. Any other advice is appreciated.

    Estonkon arvka? Greetings!
    I could use recommendations/suggestions. I’m giving detailed information hoping it helps with a solution.
    The Problem:
    My henna treatment is not lasting as long on certain areas of my hair. Within a week or two weeks after, a fresh henna treatment. I have visual gray hair around my front edges and the front widow’s peak area.
    Hair type: I have hair locs (15 months).
    I’m not new to using henna. I also used henna on my loose nature hair for a few years.
    I like my henna color more copper tone vs redder tones.
    Length of Locs: My hair locs reached the back of my neck-will not fit in one ponytail.
    Henna Treatment mixture 75 grams:
    37 grams (2-1/2 TBSP) Moroccan Henna Powder.
    37 grams (2-1/2 TBSP) Organic Cassia Obovata.
    1 TBSP Organic Amla Powder
    1-2 TSP Organic Aloe Vera Powder.
    Room temperature distilled water
    I add a few drops of essential oils
    I mix my henna treatment at night, in a glass bowl. It sits on my kitchen countertop.
    The next morning. I wash my locs with a clarifying shampoo bar-right before applying my henna treatment.
    I allow the henna treatment 4 hours-before I wash it out.
    What has changed? My henna mixture. I used to use Organic Red Raj.
    Mvto! Thank you!

      I guess they feel like they have to accept old age when they still look younger than their age? But it’s also societal pressures and self esteem issues too it’s a bunch of everything .
      For me it is a matter of feeling age has knocked on my door telling me “love your days are numbered “ 😂. But I think I look younger and I feel young!
      But I have been hating the orange brassy fade from henna lately . 3 yrs ago I didn’t mind but lately I don’t like the faded colour approaching 4-6 weeks. Most my hair is black so that orange I think makes me look tired ? I’m thinking why pay to look tired when I can looo tired naturally with those white strands?
      Plus I was thinking when my white hair goes beyond my ears do I want a head of ginger hair with brown skin? I think not I definitely won’t be dying my precious eyebrows and lashes 😂
      So essentially you’re right about me I need to come to terms with it. And in my early 40s I need to accept it’s just another part of life , go with it not against it .I think I’m very close to accepting it mostly because I don’t see the long term benefits in henna anymore . Perhaps other herbal powders for conditioning, because I do enjoy the henna hair mask it’s strangely relaxing!
