24min in and I've learnt more than in 2h of other tutorials. Amazing stuff, and very well explained!

A bit late to the party seeing how this was made for h17. But this video is really solid and still completely valid for h20.

This is how Houdini should be taught. I find that almost every tutorial lacks real in-depth explanation. You cannot understand Houdini without understanding what's happening underneath the parameters.

around 1:46:13, the simulation still works perfectly without that int pt = primpoints(...)[0] function, and by replacing pt with @ptnum.
    How come?

Is there a way to use the attributes "pintoanimation" and "stopped" with the soft pin type?

Very useful master class !! Finally get a chance to know what is going on beneath .here I have a question.I was following the example around 1:24:10,is it right to set the first input to DOP data ?but when the welded point was broken in my sim, there 's actually nothing in my broken group. All the welded points stayed 0 in the geometry spread sheet>group:broken. Is there any other settings that I missed?

Are these still relevant with Vellum in H19?

the graph editor looks so weird in this software. it's sad to see so much effort put in the simulation tools, and none in the editor's UX design.

material is badly given, it is very tangled and is not full.

I've worked with Vellum and this vid has helped in my understanding. I just discovered the link above for downloading the scene file so that should help in our ability to follow along and understand. Online documentation for things like the graphcolor node are little more than an ingredient list telling us what sugar and flour are rather than how to bake the cake.

@@vger2 I anyway understand houdini and I work also with documentation. the speech not that it is necessary to tell everything and much, the speech about that in brief to stack useful and correct information. the dokumenattion and masterklassa at them weak and empty generally if the purpose of these videos and documentation to finish an essence and that let is correct to submit information to these and are engaged.

@@BOOSTresearchlab hm, it might be a language barrier? I'm finding this masterclass very useful the further I get into it (still only halfway). I'll definitely be referencing it in the future when I have questions about certain aspects of Vellum. I was a bit lost at times until I downloaded the project files. Now following along is much easier.
