Hey Varomix, thanks for the video. Would you be able to help me out with explaining; how to set up that group nodes use $OS as their default name?
Edit: Found the solution.
Create group node -> Set Group name to: $OS -> Click on the cogwheel, in the topright corner of the group node -> Select: 'Save as Permanent Defaults'

nice!... but i have houdini 18 and it doesnt work... when i pin line at one or two points - rope starts to be infinite when falling down... changing mass doesnt help.
note: now i find that i must add vellum hair node (constr type -string) but now glue doesnt work

Maybe something changed between then and now, but it should be simple to make it work

You need to add uvs and apply the texture before you simulate
