How interesting! I found these 3 parts in a box of attachments. I had NO idea what they were or how they were used. Thank you!

Nice demo. I used my chsin stitch on my 600E to put in tucks of various widths in my daughters skirts and dresses when she was growing so fadt. Judt haf to snip the chain and pull it out to lengthen it. Sometime I would sew ric rac if the fold had left a mark, but it proved to be very handy. Too bad the T&S machines ended up not being tje best after the 600 series. I purchased mine in 1964 and it is a great workhorse.

Never had chain stitch parts until recently. Very nice video that explains it completely

It works well on knits.. I sew the seam and turn around and "double stitch", then overcast the edges. I have made tee shirts and tank -tops using this method and it does not "lay down" a lot of thread.

Great demo, I didn’t understand what these parts were for on my Singer 401A I just purchased. I will be using this for sure in place of basting. Thank you!

Could you point me to the video of the sew in place bobbin?

I wish you had said something about how to thread the hook that holds the thread. Otherwise I liked the video.

I did all that you showed but when I start my stitching I get one loop of thread to circle the bobbin area and then it continues but will not advance. No more loops. Machine sews fine in regular mode. No broken gears. Do you have any suggestions

The threading is easy. You bypass the take up lever and use the snap in thread guide instead.

Hello Lisalu910. I went to your blog and did not see the part numbers or the threading for this. Would you mind sharing how to do this?

Where did you find the extra pieces needed in order to do chain stitch?

you can probably pick them up on ebay IF you know the numbers. Did you understand how to thread the machine?

I apologize, I found your part numbers but not the threading.
