Maybe beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but that looks like it would go good with a big cup of coffee on a Saturday morning. We used to have a pointer mix named Mocha. Best dog you could ever want. I hope this pretty Mocha goes to a good home that will love it too.
@@randyyoursewingmachineman9954 That's what's important. I came // close to buying a bunch of old industrials when I was considering a cottage industry before every outdoors enthusiast was making backpacks and various carry gear. Space was at a premium and my sweetheart who made wedding dresses lost interest in her own. I was working too many hours and she went for another guy. Even though I would have felt like a Horder until I made a room to store them, in hindsight I should have bought those machines. If/ when I see someone who needs a machine, I'll send them your way Randy.
Great demo, many thanks Randy! I love the 301. I just got one, cleaned out every part of it, including the old carbon pile foot pedal. My bobbin case is missing one micro bolt/screw. It holds the bobbin lever in place. Where to find one so that this bobbin is back in action? The construction of this bobbin case is a masterpiece of engineering. When you take it apart you realize how beautiful these mechanical parts are. Superb tool and die machined parts. I so badly want that one micro bolt. By contrast, I detest plastic modern machines. Give me a vintage sewing machine, my dog, a cup of coffee and a warm Sunday morning and I am in bliss.
These are great machines. Had a modern Brother PS500 and the stitch quality did not even compare to this 301. Found mine on a curb for $20 with cabinet, chair, and all accessories. I am sure she will love this machine if your customer decides to take it home. Oh!!!! I no longer have the brother or any modern machine 🤷🏻♂️
These precision machines will spoil you once you try one. They are smooth and quite powerful. I prefer them over the 221 featherweight because they’re not as finicky. 😎👍🏼
It’s a work of art in my eyes as well. I’m tempted to improve my machine painting skills and get creative with a couple machines that have been around here a bit too long. I’ve resisted that foolish urge for quite some time. Who knows, if I paint one, it will be featured in a video.👍😎
I just got one of the tan long beds about 4 weeks back and it’s a remarkable sewing machine. I then found a black short bed and it also is wonderful sewing machine. These two are my go to machine since they are so light weight and portable. I also have 503A and that one is wonderful as well…
@@mjremy2605 that black one really sparkles when it’s shined up. The black one wins the beauty contest, but the tan one is just as awesome when it comes to performance.
I have this machine. When I bought it, it came with all attachments, the case and tons of needles. I paid 35$ for all. I LOVE her to pieces!! I love to do all my piecing for quilts on it. Shes a work horse!!
All my customers who have 301’s are big fans of their machines. For piecing quilts, there’s no better machine. It feeds straight and precise with perfect stitches. I don’t know what color yours is, but I’m assuming it’s the same. The color doesn’t affect its performance, but people have preferences, and I understand that. I waited six months for my new Tacoma in the brilliant Silver color that I wanted. I have it. I like it. I get it. 👍😎
Hey there my sewing man LOL Guess what I scored...Kenmore 158.19411 !!! I'm stinkin excited. I'm sewing machine rich lol! I'm going sell 3 of them; need room to quilt!! Thank you for your advise!!@@randyyoursewingmachineman9954
My mom bought this same Singer 301A mocha longbed (new) in the 1950s! Wonderful machine that I learned to sew on as a child. Fortunately it was passed on to me, with manual and attachments. Lots of great memories with Mom. Only wish the 301 longbeds had come with cabinets.
I always learn something new watching your videos. I don't own a 301, but I've read great things about them and the beautiful straight stitch they produce. In your experience, are they easier to service/repair than the 201 or 404?
Yeah Toyotas color like that is ugly too. That said, I have a 401A in the exact same color. I need a plug/pedal for it. It’s two prong and I can’t find one anywhere!!! Help!!

I need to sell all three of them. I can barely move around in my tiny workshop.
They will sell eventually. They always do. 😎👍🏼

Sounds like you have a few nice machines.
Thanks for your comments and thanks for watching. 😎👍🏼
The black has a lacquer top coat that is very delicate. Careful with cleaning. I prefer the tan which is more robust.

That’s a great deal right there !
I agree. If it was black or two tone it would’ve already sold for around $500 at least. 👍😎
