Now that you've seen VoicePlay's version of Halo, another reactor "The Charismatic Voice" Elizabeth had the Halo composer himself, Marty O'Donnell on her reaction to VoicePlay's Halo. Marty is massively complimentary of the VoicePlay version. It's worth a watch here (th-cam.com/video/ivqFcmplyDc/w-d-xo.html). As others have mentioned, Scott Porter was an original member and the group's vocal percussion. When he left to further his acting career (Jason Street in the NBC drama Friday Night Lights), then Layne took over. And, just fyi Eli is pronounced like Ellie (not E-Lie). Love that you selected Halo from the various options. Great reaction as always!

Scott was their original beatboxed. He left for Hollywood to do movies and television. Layne took over that position.

Scott Porter was their original beatboxer. He left in 2003 for a very successful acting career. Layne took over as the beatboxer as well as baritone. His other nickname is Carrot Lord which he portrays very well in their "In The Hall of The Mountain King" video.
Eli is pronounced ellee. Short for Eliezer.
Scott was in their video"Just Sing ". Done during covid lockdown. Captions a must as it tells who each person is and how they are associated with Voiceplay.
Rek Dunn did a cameo in their "Boy Bands In 5 Minutes" video handing Earl Elkins Jr a sandwich. He passed away shortly after.
Earl Also left the group shortly after. Earl was another original member along with Mikal Kilgore. Who is also in Just Sing.
I once watched a reactor scoff at the tribute at the end. I never watched him again. I don't remember their name, and frankly, don't care. They had maybe 20 people subscribed, not difficult to see why he had so little. This is one of Voiceplay's best videos. The morphing and staggered filming is amazing. Hard not to love it!💙
I don't understand why anyone would do that, although many reactors have either not watched the outro (or not shown it as part of their reaction)! Please keep reminding all VP/Geoff reactors to keep it going through the Patreon credits! 😉
@raycardy4843 this is something I've never understood. Why would I run it through the Patreon credits? Things like that are terrible for audience retention as it's, to all intents and purposes, dead space
Because sometimes it’s not actually over yet. And there is often BTS snippets and/or Geoff’s dry humor. Trust us, let it run.

@@TheCharlieSmithChannel That's true with some groups. But at the very least, Voiceplay includes more of the song, or the karaoke version, and the cover art, which is usually very cool! So never assume a black screen means it's over! LOL!
And as fans, we enjoy the little extra bits. We also interact in video comments with some of the higher level Patrons, which is cool, and it's nice to see their name or hear them mentioned (sort of like a family). Huldra Draco, for example, puts out awesome Voiceplay and Geoff videos and Social Updates about the boys. And in recent VP and Geoff vids they have clips from BTS or just a little message. For a good example, check out "What Do We Do With A Drunken Sailor?" or "Sleeping In The Cold Below," both by Voiceplay. And lately Geoff always has a message at the end of his videos, and honestly, who doesn't love listening to him speak? That's why the readings of stories like "The Raven" by Poe on Geoff's channel are so great!

Names are correct, only Eli is pronounced "Elly"- it rhymes with jelly, and is short for Eliezer.
This arrangement is a real masterpiece, as is the performance. This is one of those pieces that really showcases the absolutely crazy vocal talents that make up VoicePlay, as well as one of the stellar talents that have been part of the group in the past.
And thanks for watching the video all the way through. A lot of reactors skip the tribute at the end, which is both a disservice to the creators and the loss of an opportunity to get this glimpse into the heart of VoicePlay, and the kind of people these guys are.
Not to mention them skipping the end of ANY Voiceplay or Geoff video is just annoying. I think most Voiceplayas like listening to the music and seeing the artwork at the end, no matter how much we've seen it before.💙
When they did this I had to pull out my old PC version to play again. Eli (Ellie). Scott Porter left the group to become a actor. He stared in Friday Night Lights. He was also in the last season of Lucifer.
You are in for a treat. Do watch it all. Scott Porter was their 1st beatboxer. Layne gave up his baritone to do the beatboxing. Names are right but Eli's is like jelly.

If you have a little time, the original composer for Halo was featured on The Charismatic Voice's channel (Elizabeth Zharoff) when she analyzed/reviewed this video, and he was really impressed by the version VoicePlay did - it's worth the time to watch it if you enjoyed Halo!
This video had Geoff's first B0 subharmonic, although it is very short and still somewhat uncertain - some reactors say he did it, some aren't so sure. But just the timbre and tone of those long sustained notes is enough for me - I don't really care that much what note it is, just that it sounds like it's magma moving through the earth's crust!
Rek will live on for eternity through this dedication. Thank you for seeing it through.

Thanks for a great reaction - that last low note Geoff hit was a B0!😮This was the first recorded time he'd done that, though he did it 3 more times in Valhalla Calling! (And hit a brief A0 in 'Enemy'!) You can see a cameo appearance from Rek in 'Boy Bands in 5 Minutes', handing Earl a large sub! 😊
Such a wonderful tribute - they are so talented and it shows the integrity of the group and what amazing people they are. I don't play games either, but I love their game covers regardless! (Dragonborn (Skyrim), Valhalla Calling (Assassin's Creed), Sleeping in the cold below (Warframe) etc.) Dragonborn is my favourite because Geoff "went over the top" with the production 😄. Mind you, so did Layne with Valhalla Calling.

That's Scott Porter, not Parker. :) He left VP to go into acting and is a tv star now. Scott was a beatboxer for VP until he left and Layne took over. Eli in this case is pronounced to rhyme with jelly, and is short for Eliezer.

Another artist to check out is Gigi de Lana. One of the best Filipino singers, a cameleon, the Queen of covers, but that's not the best part, her band is so great. They have done many livestreams, and they don't take themselves too seriously. So much fun!!!
