Scott is an actor in Friday Night Lights and Heart of Dixie. He’s a childhood friend of Geoff and Layne and was the group’s original beatboxer. Please take time to watch the tribute at the end-it’s for another friend they lost this year but grew up with.
Scott was the original beatboxer for Voiceplay when they started, but they were called 4:2:Five back then. He turned to acting and Layne stepped from baritone into the beatboxer slot. Scott has appeared in Friday Night Lights and in Lucifer and a few other TV shows. If you watch Voiceplay's video "Just Sing" with the captions on, a bunch of former VP members, collaborators and fellow Sing Off competitors make cameos in that video, including Scott.
Yes! "Just Sing" is an incredible cheer-up video, be sure to watch it with the subtitles turned on because they show the background credits of the guest singers. Love your videos Danielle!

The opening and ending portion where Geoff reaches into the pits of hell to grab that note is original to the Halo theme song, everything else falls under artistic rendition, but still SO GOOD! Nostalgia level: 7 (Halo fans will understand)
Scott was one of the original members of VoicePlay, long time ago. You get a lot of that history if you watch the video to the end.
I'm not sure if you caught it after you edited this, but Scott explained why they chose this: This was done in tribute to one of their fellow bandmates who died this year. They all bonded over Halo.
Also, Scott was actually one of their founding members. He was their beatboxer (hence the ease of making machine gun noises) before Layne stepped in. The reason he looks familiar is actually a famous actor now. He's best known for the TV shows Friday Night Lights and Hart of Dixie. Glad you enjoyed this and keep up the great work!

If Geoff's opening note (E1) was barely audible to you, did you even catch his next note (B0) that went lower? You might need better earphones. :D Hopefully it's not a limitation on your ears.
I think the way Geoff (and the others at times) tends to hit the consonants (mms and nnns and b’s and d’s) makes them really sound like string instruments. I’ve wondered if Geoff plays some of these bits out on bass or bass guitar just to get a sense of how to enunciate the sounds and make them sound instrumental.
Halo has probably the most iconic Theme Song and all of video games.

Its funny, honestly them doing this cover brings tears to my eyes. It brings back so many childhood memories. They did absolutely amazing with this song. Not to sound disrespectful in any way whatsoever but the chills you got listening to this is nowhere near the chills i got, or even the people that understand why this is absolutely beautiful got. For many people like me, this game was my childhood. Playing this game brought me and my brother closer together because we enjoyed playing this game together so much. They killed this. There isnt much that brings me so close to bawling my eyes out like a child but this gets me close lmao. Its one of those things that you just had to experience in the time that it was the talk of the town. Im happy as hell to see that you enjoyed this though. They did an amazing job and will continue to do amazing.

This is incredible! The blending of all the voices is other worldly, and Layne's beatboxing is stellar. Thanks for your insight into this one. Scott used to sing with Voiceplay and now is a working actor.
I don't know about all men but Layne and Scott are both vocal percussionists, and Geoff has sometimes done a bit too. Sadly you stopped short of the important message.
As someone who watched the series Lucifer, i had a small heart attack when i saw Scott :D

I love your reaction analysis. Geoff can beat box as well. You will hear him beat box in the song Death Of A Bachelor. Please do a reaction video of Voice Plays version of Death Of A Bachelor. It is only Geoff & Earl singing it but it is awesome. It's the first & only time the two of them did a song together. It is from their early years. Geoff had short hair & looks so young in this.

Agree, I'm not a reactor and I watched all of it since I saw that it was a 6 minute video. At first I did think it was a 6 minute song lol, but after it was done and Scott appeared, I was like what's this. Glad I watched it till the end :)

idk if you have reacted to actual halo theme song, but if you want the...whole Halo combat evolved experience in terms of sountrack and wana hear martin o donnel being like tHIS is the stuff i can do for you, check out Halo ce ost Truth and Reconciliation Suite. it has everything you want from...."musical adventure"

You have a lot of the best singers on your channel, but some that you are missing are a little surprising. Along the lines of A Capella I didn't see Pentatonix or Acapop Kids, don't let these kids youth fool you into thinking they can't be very good, they make Kids Bop look like beginners. Also you have been missing out on So Hyoung, Marcelito Pomoy and Gabriel Henrique, and you should check out the child prodigies Aurora Angelina Jordan the TNT BOYS and Diana Ankudinova, though Aurora and Diana Ankudinova are both over 18 now. And last for a very different singing style then you have done check out Tatiana of group Jinjer.

The important thing is that they saw the message and the reasoning of the video, not that they post themselves watching it.

@@jamescurfman3284 Learn to read and use your brain a little. I said the main reason of the video is to breakdown and Analyse the *music* , the *song* , not whatever happens afterwards. She's not supposed to do anything with whatever happens after if she doesn't want to. Even in the beginning she literally species or mentions that she breaks down performances on TH-cam.
Plus, as I said multiple times before, as long as she watched it and appreciated it, that's all that matters, not a video moronically proving it to you and accommodating to your foolish needs. Pretty sure voiceplay doesn't need a video of every person reacting to it, just understanding, appreciation, and acknowledgment of the message and reasoning... Not a video.
