I was ready to accept defeat but decided to click on one more video. THANK YOU!!!! There are times I'm just not in the mood read. Now, I'm going to restart the video, I forgot to pause before coming to the comments. I'm subscribing, simply because I didn't have to read

This reminds me of "National loaf" a type of bread here in the UK largely made in ww2. I use it to black fast, its so filling and if I have any left over I bake it in cubes and store it to use as a type of cereal for days I dont fancy having porridge!
    The recipe is:
    1lb Plain flour
    1lb Wholemeal or Wholegrain flour
    Pinch of salt
    Tablespoon of honey
    Handful of Oats
Pkt yeast and one pint of water (but now im going to try it with oatmilk!).
Mix ingredients / knead for several mins. Allow to rise for an hour. Similarly flatten and roll and put into the tin and allow to rise for an hour.
Bake for approx 40 mins 180c (350f?). Turn the oven off, take the bread out of its tin and turn over and pop back into the oven to harden off the bottom.
A little Julia Child tip is to put a ramilin of water in the bottom of the preheated oven to create a steam effect which keeps the bread moist.

Hi Annette, I have been enjoying all your videos and I would love to ask if you can make a video about the different flour we should use. In here you mention, spelt, kamut, hard red (is it wheat?). How can I identify them in the store or where do you recommend me to buy them. I want to make the sandwich bread for my family since it is the only fast and available food I get in my house.
I really appreciate it! If you already have a video, let me have the link please.

Hi Annette. Thank you so much for this video in the recipe. I love oats. And I do make oat bread. And I’m going to substitute the Spelt flour with either Sorghum, Millet, Oat, Buckwheat, Quinoa Flours. But, my question for you is, do we have to use yeast, and if so are there any substitutions. And do we have to use butter. Can we have a substitution for butter? And also as I’m watching the video, can this bread be made without salt or again, is there a substitution.? Thank you so much for your channel and being biblically grounded. I enjoy so much hearing how to eat and take care of ourselves God‘s way.

Well, in Isaiah 65: 21, 22 says "They will build houses and live in them, And they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage. They will not build for someone else to inhabit, Nor will they plant for others to eat. For the days of my people will be like the days of a tree, And the work of their hands my chosen ones will enjoy to the full."

Being a "christian" I hope you're using bourbon free vanilla. If not, 2 tsp of regular vanilla which is basically all bourbon and or just alcohol makes a really boozy bread. I use another oatmeal recipe. I use oatmeal flour, buckwheat flour, a Tb. of pysillium to replace the gluten and add elasticity and maple syrup and of course yeast.

I made this bread the other day. It rose beautifully, baked thoroughly, and came out of the oven looking like it belonged in a food magazine spread. Then I tasted it. It was terrible. There was no sweetness to it, no hint of vanilla at all, or even the slightest suggestion of oats. In fact, it tasted just like cardboard-the worst tasting bread I have ever tried. It must somehow be my fault, though for the life of me I have no idea what went wrong. Because I can't isolate the problem, I will not, unfortunately, try this recipe again.
