    Your foil testing brought back memories for me - well nightmares really, it’s definitely trial and error ! I would highly recommend the minc machine. Also you may already know this but if you set your laser printer to the labels setting it feeds through more slowly and lays down more toner, don’t forget to change the default settings to make sure the economy setting is off.
    Love your videos 💕

    • @HanmadeDesigns
      @HanmadeDesigns  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Georgie!! I tried it a few years back properly and it was hit and miss...so put it aside, found the materials lying about and thought If it would be worth getting a minc machine. I know so many people love them, but I’m not sure if it’s better for just a day to day hobby.
      Did you decide to no longer do foiling? Or do you still do it, if so, do you do prints or more sticker based?
      I usually do show the experimenting side, but It’s been great to have a discussion with everyone about it ☺️☺️
      Thanks again 🤗💖

    Hi Han, lovely video. I would recommend using a gloss paperstock around 200-250gsm and the minc machine by Hedi xx hope that helps with your foiling. Love your vlogs ☺️

      Thank you! How do you get on with yours? Has it been worth buying? I’ve been thinking about getting one for a few years and just never got round to it. So thought I’d see if my prints work as a print first, before investing. They look so lucky fun though! Thanks again ☺️💖💖

      Absolutely! I love making a list, and trying not to put down big over whelming tasks seems to help me actually be more productive ☺️☺️
      🐶 She has missed being in her routine, and couldn’t help keep popping in as usual 😂😅 I used to spend so much time trying to film around her or cut the scenes out, but was a struggle so I’ve learnt to embrace it 🐶💖💖

    • @Unukadesign
      @Unukadesign 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tell me about it 😫 it sux seeing an overwhelming to do list 🤣🙈.
      I had to create my own To do list template in the most fun visual minimalist way that I could, so that I can tick them off one by one lol
      I use a countdown timer to keep me on track too if I get distracted like usual lmao
      Need to be more disciplined 😥🙏🏽
      Naww Lunas the cutest! She deserves to have her little spotlight hehe
      She doesnt realise shes got fans all around the world too and shes not even trying lmao
      Anyway I'll let you get back to work.
      I'm getting back to work too 😫🙈 stressed because I'm opening my Etsy shop tomorrow FINALLY! Hahah
      It's really rushed BUT I need to get my feet wet and bite the bullet lol
      Didnt really have time to prelaunch:/ it's ok I'll figure out a routine in the next few days and I'll see what the outcome is in the next month or 2 :/ or more, jesus lol
      Bye for now 🙏🏽🙈👋🏼🥰🥰

    Oh need a browse on typo now 🙈 Oh those shoes 👟 I love foil but see lots of people not getting consistent results & that would drive me crazy!! 🙈 oh love the acrylic pieces! Hey 🐶 the bow is soo cute! 💕

      Hi Clare ☺️ I popped on a birthday present and ended up with new stationery 🙊
      Regarding the foiling, it seems so hit and miss for so many people! I made a few stickers for the outside of parcels today, and it seemed to work better but definitely seems like a headache if it came to making orders and it not being consistent!
      💕💕💕

    Hi Hannah,
    After watching your latest TH-cam Vlog update I was wondering if you have tried using the printers multiple purpose feeder/bypass tray in either of your laser printers when using heavier weight media stock instead of putting the media through the normal paper trays.
    The multiple purpose feeder/bypass tray can handle the heavier media stock much better, as I noticed the specking and lines on your printed media stock after you printed them out for the second time in studio Vlog 19.
    I had this problem only once before, and when I switched media trays it solved my problem permanently, just a suggestion for you to try, anyway I hope it works for you.

    • @HanmadeDesigns
      @HanmadeDesigns  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cassidy,
      I tried doing this properly years ago, and attempted to use the bypass tray, i completely forgot about it this time, so thank you for reminding me 😁
      Would you recommend the foiling machine? I’m really in two minds for one, i think I’d like it for my own personal projects but not sure whether or not to get one for the business 🤔
      At the minute I’m using the foil I was from a ribbon foiling machine I had, but I think the minc machines look super fun.
      I made some stickers today to decorate my parcels, so I think it would be good for this, just not sure whether it’s worth it 🙊
      Thanks again! 🤗

    Where do you buy your acrylic sheets from please? Thank you

    • @HanmadeDesigns
      @HanmadeDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Andreia, I get them from various suppliers...from what I've found it's all pretty much the same product. Some just charge more or less for the particular smaller size I order in. I've also ordered from Amazon before and it's worked out pretty well 😃💕
      (I usually just google A4 acrylic mirror sheets and way up the cost of what I need and their shipping, as they vary so much depending on what I need for the job) xx

    I know I’m super late with watching but I really recommend you to use a simple laminator for foiling and a monochrome laser printer. The more pressure and heat - the matter it gets. I do this myself and at the very beginning it was really annoying because the foil looked so messed up, but the more I played with the paper the more and more it looked exactly how I want it to look. And amazing vlog like always

    • @HanmadeDesigns
      @HanmadeDesigns  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oooh Brilliant advice Marie, thank you so much!! I think I have a basic laminator somewhere 😃 💕💕

    • @HanmadeDesigns
      @HanmadeDesigns  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jodi,
      Gosh, it’s so old now but washes well. It’s a ‘soft shell’ jacket from the wholesaler and is easy to print onto. It was limited stock a few years ago, but I’m sure if you search soft shell Jacket, you should be able to find something else similar ☺️💕

    Wonderful vlog! Two questions for you - how do you handle returns? I can’t imagine wanting to return one of your pieces but it happens. Second question is about Skill Share - sometimes I’ve seen two months offered do you have any of those sponsored at the moment? Thank you Hannah! ❤️

    • @HanmadeDesigns
      @HanmadeDesigns  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, firstly thank you :) To answer your questions, regarding returns....if something is personalised/completely custom we don't offer returns as it cannot be resold etc (we have policies, in line with government guidance regarding this) however, we do have returns where a customer has put the wrong address etc, and we offer a refund if the item hasn't arrived for example, as well as on the odd occasion if the item is damaged in the post, it I will always remake and replace the item of course. This happens from time to time, so it's important to take this into consideration when working out cost prices. Regarding the Skillshare, I just hoped on their to talk to someone who is taking one of my classes, and I saw a link for the 2months free, so I will have a look if I can find it and will pop in the reply box for you.
      - Hannah x

    • @HanmadeDesigns
      @HanmadeDesigns  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello :) The printer used in foiling technique is a simple Brother laser toner printer (Brother Hl-2130 Mono Laser Printer). The toner is relatively cheap, and lasts a year or two which is great for what I need (I also use it to print orders).
