Good morning Angie, you are amazing!! I struggle with "two" hands, let alone one. So sorry to read about the stroke you had suffered, I can imagine what a setback that must have been, but, you conquered and showed you can't be put down. The fruit cake looked so delicious, rich well baked and stacked with delicious dried fruits. My recipe comes from my aunt Bessie, she read out the recipe to me one day, well, many years ago and uncle Tom informed me about the nip of brandy. He was Irish and as we know they enjoyed a good tot or two and even more. He was a lovely person, I have good memories. I was dreading the fact I will have to go and buy marzipan for the cake as it is just so very expensive, alas, I saw your video and decided to open and follow, am I please I did so. We love Battenberg Cake and now I can use your recipe for that as well. I colour my marzipan a very light green and it makes a beautiful decoration for the cake. Thank you so much for showing and sharing, I also use a smoother to hide the small cracks and patches. Do have a beautiful day, love your large kitchen, many blessings. Kind regards, Elize.
Thank you for your kind message, my presentation lacks professionalism but i'm getting much better at it. I am so happy that you enjoyed my videos thank you
every xmas me mum used to make dad marzipan fruits with the left over marzipan. i still remember vividly the detail she went into not only making them but then painting them with food colouring.... that would have been 50 years ago now easy....
This was so enjoyable to watch even though it is now summer. An informative and well- explained demonstration. But the best thing is your absolutely delightful screen presence that is friendly and welcoming.
Hi there, yes, just replace the egg with 3 Tablespoons of syrup, corn syrup, algarve, any light syrup, otherwise the recipe is the same. Thank yopu for your comment
hi there this will keep in the fridge, wrapped for up to 6 days, freeze up to 3 months. however, once you use it and let it dry out it keeps for a few weeks I hope this helps

Hi there, yes, just replace the egg with 3 Tablespoons of syrup, corn syrup, algarve, any light syrup, otherwise the recipe is the same. Thank yopu for your comment
Dear, how long can it keep, since there is a raw eggwhite inside? Thanks❤

@@onehandykitchenangie128 excellent thats what I meant, once spread and dried.
Really enjoyed your video, didn't realise it was so easy to make, thank you
It's cheaper to buy marzipan than the almonds
Not really. And fresher is better, without preservatives or fillers. 😊
I calculate, it costs me 28.50 euros to buy one kilo of marzipan, but 8 euros to buy one kilo of almonds
