Recipe
Yield: Makes about 1 lb (450 g)
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
1 ¾ cups (200 g) ground almonds (almond meal)
1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar (caster sugar)
¼ cup (60 mL) honey
2 Tbsp (30 mL) water
1 tsp (5 mL) pure almond extract
Directions
1. Place the ground almonds into a food processor. Stir the sugar, honey and water in a small saucepot over high heat until it reaches a full boil and the sugar has completely dissolved. Pour this into the food processor while it’s running. Add the almond extract and blend until the marzipan comes together. While it’s still warm, shape this into a log and wrap in plastic wrap well. Leave at room temperature to cool and store well-wrapped until you are ready to use it.
Marzipan will keep, well-wrapped, for up to a month, or can be frozen up to 3 months.
CHOCOLATE DIPPED MARZIPAN
Yield: about 4 dozen pieces (depending on size of cut-out shapes)
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Set Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
½ recipe (225 g) homemade marzipan
1 ½ cups (270 g) dark or milk chocolate chips
icing sugar, for dusting when rolling
Directions
1. On a clean work surface, gently knead the marzipan to soften it, using a sprinkling of icing sugar as needed on the surface to keep the marzipan from sticking. Roll out the marzipan to about ¼ -inch (6 mm) thick and use a small cookie cutter (1 1/2-inches/40 mm is a nice portion) to cut out shapes. Place these on a parchment-lined baking tray.
2. Melt the chocolate in a metal bowl placed over a pot filled with an inch of barely simmering water, stirring gently until smooth. Remove the bowl from the heat and dip each marzipan piece into the chocolate half way and shake off excess chocolate before placing on the tray to set. Let the chocolate set (or chill for just 10 minutes) and then store in an airtight container.
The dipped marzipan will keep for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container.

Made the marzipan for stollen. Substituted maple syrup for honey. Worked like a charm. Delicious!
Excellent, no non-sense, obviously professional lesson on marzipan. I checked a few others and believe me this is the best, clearest, most concise instructions. Thank you!
This marzipan was so good dipped in dark chocolate! I used maple syrup instead of honey and added a bit of salt. I'm excited to make it again!
I just made some of this to do a Battenberg cake on Saturday. I had no idea how easy it is to make marzipan! Thank you for this video!
Thank you so much for your amazing clear, simple presentation. Thank you for not giving a complete story of who you are or what a marzipan is! I made your recipe and your way for my sister's birthday and the result was perfect!🥰
These Marzipan are so adorable !!!
My absolute favorite type of candy!
My absolute favorite, Thank you Anna, I have never been brave enough to try making my own but your recipe and instructions just clicked, guess I will be treating myself to a whole block of marzipan soon, Thank you once again and take care.

Thank you for a no nonsense straight to the point instruction video. I like this recipe and will try. I love marzipan and only buy at Christmas. Today I had a few with my espresso and though, silly me.... I can make this!
Anna, when will we see a blooper reel? I would love to see it.
finally homemade marzipan
I love marzipan! Absolutely delicious and my favorite cake is a princess cake... my husband loves it too
So concise and perfect in every way thank you for the tutorial!
Goddess of baking
Marzipan is made with confectioners' sugar and rose water, what Anna makes is almond paste which is very similiar to Marzipan
Yumm🥰 love homemade!
Thanks for sharing!
My jaw dropped when you added so much almond extract. I only put 1tsp for my cookie dough that makes 12 large cookies and the flavor comes through even after being baked. This must have been 1Tbsp for such a small amount of marzipan. O-O
She's like Sandra Lee with her vodka

Thanks so much. I have been working my way through the internet looking for instructions to make a Princess cake. I would love to see a video from you on making a Princess cake since your instructions for making marzipan are easy to follow. The other recipes I have found use powdered sugar instead of granulated castor sugar. Is there a difference when using marzipan to top a cake?
Amazing and delicious recipe, love to eat , thanks for sharing
Thank you so much for sharing how to make marzipan recipe, very usefull
I have a lot of almond flour to use up and I didn't want to make macarons again. Thanks for the inspiration! Love the honey/sugar combo idea.
I come back. And I learned again what you did. thank you
How do I soak raisins in wine and for how long before I use it to make rich Christmas cake
I always make it but a different recipe. Excellent one, can i use it to cover a cake with it, without breaking, or i need a different recipe for that?
Thank you
Nice :) Thanks for recipe :) greetings!
Do the marzipan dipped cookies harden over time? They don't seem that firm...
Oh dear! You are a treat for my eyes :) love your all recipes.❤

I love marzipan, nice one 🤩
what a great pan! what brand is it? thanks for the video
That's so easy to make:) Have a beautiful weekend, Anna!
Looks good and easy to make.
Thank you.
What's the difference between almond paste and marzipan?
While they both are made of almonds, marzipan and almond paste are completely different creatures. Marzipan is smooth, sweet, and often dyed and molded into shapes. ... Almond paste, however, is coarser, less sweet, and used as an ingredient or filling for baked goods.
Hello! Can we use almond flour? Thanks. Love the video.
Almond flour is ground almonds, so yes
@@Kaz-zp4pq Almond flour has had the almond oil extracted, so it will not be equivalent to freshly ground almonds. However, if you re-add some kind of nut oil to almond flour, it might turn out similar to regular ground almonds. It would be an interesting cooking experiment.
Thank you Anna
So nice and healthy
Hello Anna another recipe to try it what's lot of fun your halloween recipe live see you soon stay safe
I have a marzipan recipe that uses powdered sugar and an egg white, but yours would be great for the marzipan potatoes and things that don't need bakes. Thank you.
can you please make chewy brownie in microwave without chocolate
Hello Anna, will these chocolate dipped marzipans need refrigeration if made three weeks before xmas?
Awesome recipe Anna can I use this recipe for covering my Xmas cake. Thanks
I did and it was wonderful so delicous on my traditional Christmas fruit cake topped with fondant.
Can you add colour to you paste before you finish making it?
You are just amaziiiiiing !
Super test👌🏻🌷
Finally thank you 😗😗😗
Love u Ana😘😍😍
Lots of love from kashmir paradise😇🥰
Can you use without almond extract ?
I made the marzipan recipe but was too sweet. Can I just use honey and not the sugar? Would it work
I only use honey. Work well.
Looks yummm
Can I keep it in the fridge and then make it the next day? Will it have the same texture?
Hi Ana. The marzipan recipe I tried yesterday but the marzipan is pretty hard. What do I do? I did exactly as your utube. the taste is excellent!! please help
Sounds like you boiled the sugar to hard crack stage. Cook just to dissolve.
I made this and broke my food processor. Maybe pouring hot sugar in the food processor is not a good idea😅 but the marzipan turned out great and tasted amazing. Maybe use a better quality food processor next time😂
This looks (and probably must taste, except for the almond flavour), like the Indian sweet kaju katli (though it's not dipped in chocolate and don't use honey)
I ❤ U cooking ...very good ...🎉🎁💐
Hello Anna. Can Marzipan be used as Fondant for cake covering. Love from Nigeria...
Yes it can. That is one of marzipan’s traditional uses in Germany. Happy baking!
This made me smile -- thinking about people in Nigeria enjoying traditional marzipan. I love how people around the world share experiences and culture in this era. Love from America to you! I hope your marzipan turned out well.
Thanks Anna. Can this be used to cover rich fruit cakes?
Instead of almond extract can one use Frangelico since that's an almond liquor?
Marzipan still reminds me of Mother Love - a deliciously evil Mimi-series starring Diana Rigg.
how long can these sit out before becoming soft again? they don't need baked?
Delicious
I'm fairly certain that my plastic food processor would not appreciate me pouring molten sugar in it...
Very nice
Can I add vanilla instead of almond extract?
Can I use cashewnuts instead of almond powder in this recipe
I tried it with cashew and it works well
For a vegan version would maple syrup or something else work?
Yum!
Can you do this with almond flour?
I tried this recipe and it tastes good but is incredibly sticky, do you have any advice on what might have gone wrong?
U can add icing sugar confectioners sugar to eliminate d stickiness
@@oceanicblues2496 awesome thanks!
Are ground almonds the same thing as almond flour?
I've asked this question before but never got an answer. I have a bag of blanched almonds ready to use but 🤷♀️
One keeps the skins on the almonds the other skins are removed before ground
Almond flour has had some of the oil extracted, so it will be drier than a paste of freshly ground almond.
Did she just keep her sugar in a bin in the drawer?? That's genius
Can anyone tell me from what year this episode originally is from?
Season 2 episode 4 came out in September 2015
@@brendakay3087 thanks!!
Mazapan 😋😋
I didn't understand if the cut cookies should be baked in the oven
Mine came out a little too hard… anything I can do to fix it?
can you make a video making cat shape cookies with black ears? i always try but when i start manipulating the cocoa dough placing it on top of the yellow one and shaping it as a ear it starts melting for some reason. thankssss
COOL
Z= tz sound. Mar-tzi-pahn ♥️
Oops, the ground almonds I bought must have had the skins still in there. Tasty, but not pretty enough to put on top of a cake ... I will try with whole scalded and peeled almonds another day. I really like using a sugar syrup instead of all that powdery icing sugar to make marzipan.
Can I use the same amount of cashew nuts instead of almond or almond meal
Did you try it? Did it work?
I tried cashew powder instead and it works
Those look so pretty. No baking, very interesting. I thought you would dip them in chocolate after baking...but there's no flour, so no need to bake. I guess these are more like a candy...
I didn't know the ingredients were so boring, just a few are used. Sometimes, it best not knowing how foods are made.
Can I use this marzipan to cover my cake?
Yes, of course. You should have fun and experiment while baking. I think a thinly rolled sheet of marzipan between stacks of a layer cake would add a good flavor and chew to the soft cake. I think adding the marzipan after baking will work best, because cooking the marzipan with the cake batter will probably break it down to an almond syrup (could still be tasty, but no longer really marzipan at that point).
Who's here because of SNL? 😂✌️
How stressing is to hear all the unit in imperial
I roast mine at 200.
its just badam barfi with chocolate coating .
What can I substitute for sugar. I've noticed that American recipes are way too sweet.
