How To Fix E02 Error - Lay Z Spa Hot Tub Hire | Hot Tub Fun | 01494 355410

- If you a getting an E02 Error displayed on your Lay Z Spa Pump / Heater during your hire then these are the steps to take in order to resolve the problem which is essentially a water flow issue detected by the pump.
The normal cause for E.0.2 is a Hot Tub which has been subjected to a period of heavy use with grass, hair and/or other debris being entered into the tub, causing a slight blockage on the pump / filtration system reducing the water flow.
This process should clear all E02 Errors unless there is a faulty component and will only take a few minutes to complete - getting you back in your Hot Tub as soon as physically possible.
A) Throughly clean the filter and filter housing of all hair, debris and scum on the filter.
B) While the filter is removed check for water flow from the pump
C) Check the water level of the tub is between min and max without anyone in the tub, preferably closer to max than min.
D) Reset the unit
If the above steps fail to resolve the issue then you will need to:
E) Turn off the pump / heater unit
F) Remove the filter housing and chlorine dispenser unit, replacing them both with the provided stoppers
G) Remove the pump / heater unit from the Hot Tub by unscrewing the three connectors
H) Using a hosepipe flush the connecting tubes from where the pump unscrewed from, while flushing remove the stopper cap from inside the tun and rub/brush the debris screen inside the tub while flushing. This will dislodge any debris on the debris screen. Do this for both debris screens individually.
I) Flush the water inlet our outlet of the pump by placing the hose in each for 2-5 minutes, this will flush any debris from the heater element and pump inside the unit.
J) Look into the tubes that go through the side of the hot tub, ensuring they do not look twisted or crushed which would stop / heavily reduce the water flow.
H) Re-attach the Heater / Pump Unit before powering the unit back on, pressing the reset button on the RCD and then holding down the power symbol to turn the unit on.
K) Finally, turn the pump and heater back on using the control panel.

Mine had a worn impeller shaft in the water pump. Replacing the impeller, or just the shaft should fix the problem.

The black flaps in the filter housing is what was causing my e02 error because they were restricting water flow. I pushed them down so they are under the filter top and no more issues and the water is beautiful!

I keep getting the NO2 code. Cleaned the filter and still throws the code. Also changed the filter to a new one and still throws it. Kept the filter off and works and throws no code. What would be the cause of this you think?
When you get error E02, does it trip your gfci? Or is something else wrong with mine. Thanks
Replaced the pump armature….was badly split. The magnet actually ruptured. But it hasn’t solved the problem yet and water is not flowing. Came on momentarily and threw the 02 code. Now it won’t work at all….comes on for a few seconds and then no codes, nothing. Have done several resets. Any ideas short of the pressure sensor which is my next guess. Ty
hi i had an error saying the pump was to hot. I carried out all the checks as per this video..the water is sitting at 27 deg and not getting any hotter..i also removed the pump insulation cover that was on it.. any ideas.. filter clean and renewed did wash out and resets
Mine was new doing this first day. My problem was the filtre was screwed to tight. Hope this helps someone else! And i removed those black flap backflow things

Hi can anyone help me, my pump is only heating up to 22 Celcius then stops going. I've tried all the resets.
Do you know if you can purchase a replacement black rubber that is inside the filter housing? I've looked online but to no avail. I have the lay z spa Paris.

I’ve followed all these but still E02 code. I thought it was a squashed pipe but I’ve sorted that. Could it be flow meters?
Have you come across any yet? I havent been able to find the stoppers either. So frustrating.
Hi I've a bent pipe ( the bottom one ) from the fillter housing to the water pump , can this be replaced?

Buy a copper pipe cut and insert that will open the bent pipe up and let water flow
When I watch this video at 6:35 you detach the pump and hardly any water comes out of the last large pipe. When I detach the pump (after putting both black caps on) tons of water is gushing out of the third pipe. Could this be my problem? What is causing it?

That's a problem, in the tub itself. The big pipe is where the air comes out of the unit and bubbles into the tub. There should be a one way valve in the tub side so it doesn't let water out.

@@matthanson4720 yeah it was because of the cold when the machine just can't think that is just an error goes to so we set it up inside until it got warm and then it was fine.
I just got.mine yesterday and with the filter on it pops up that code take the filter off and it is fine is my.pump bad?

Had E02 error. Went to turn back on after changing filter n it will not unlock??????
Have you tried holding down for a few seconds on the unlock button? It takes a few to work
Got sick of the E02 fault, so, Pantyhose, change(throw away) every 1 or 2 days according to use. better flow and general better filtration.
I've had mine for 3 months and I tried all of these things- still giving me the E02 error code ...so sad. Does anyone know who I can call if the pump is bad?
If water is not coming out of the top filter, I could be the pump but chick to see if any water is getting through your filter. I got a bad filter in the mail, and it was not letting any water through it. We pocked tiny holes in ours, and it fixed it for us, but just small holes, it still needs to do its job and be a filter. Best of luck.
Superb. Water level was slightly too low (slightly above the minimum line)...5 minutes later with the hose, and the level resolved the error code.

It’s the plastic vanes that make the water move. The shaft is a magnet and I just replaced mine bcuz it was badly split…but still throwing the E02 code
