I am 64 and this is the music I was addicted to in the 70s when I was a teen and early 20s. I also change that lyric and have every year since! Who knew that it would be 40 years SO SOON!!!
As a 12 year old playing at my friends house his older brother was playing this album I stopped playing and just stood there listening to this track and the following track "great gig in the sky." Still has this overwhelming effect 46 years later.
Guys I would recommend you listen to the whole album. It will take you somewhere else. Just fantastic. If you do a full album start with this one 🙏 appreciate you guys
They say Floyd is rock and roll for the intelligent. It surpasses time and space. You don’t simply listen to them, you experience them. Their music will impact ur life. I’m glad u both are enjoying ur journey with PF. ✌️
And keep in mind - no PC's back then. So they had people running around manually tweaking these clocks so they'd go off in the way they wanted. It makes this album even more amazing, when you think about some of the the tricks needed - that could be simply done today.
My favorite transition of this song 5:04 gets me everytime... I love your interpretation of this song. I think that not only are they trying to describe how Time runs faster the older you get, and that before you know it, your time is almost up, but also that time becomes more valuable with time. Namaste 🤘🙏
I love that music bridges cultures, races and ethnicities. Pink Floyd is just different. Absolutely brilliant! I never get tired of listening to them. Thanks for your reaction.
I am an American. This music was, kind of, 'underground' music when I was growing up in the '80's. I enjoyed your perspective on this music. Having seen it brought to the light, out from under the ' underground', so to speak, was cool to watch. Thx for reacting to this song :)
Your reactions are always so appreciated. Not only are you two so cute together, but your respect for each other is seldom seen today. Love you two. Great reaction!
The irony of this album is Roger always felt this was childish in its lyrics, and yet almost 5 decades later it's as true as it will be 1000 yrs from now. Great reaction folks, have a wonderful day. This is one of the greatest concept albums ever made, it is about all the shared human experiences in life including death, it's downright genius. Then there is the wall, I struggled with whether to outline the story but I think it's a better experience if you listen and figure that out on your own. I will say this the whole album follows a man as he is born, grows up, becomes a rock star and the rapid decline into isolation and drugs and insanity that follows. It's even better than darkside as a concept, not sure I would argue it's the better album, they are different.
They were the most patient and sincere song writers... album came out when I was 11, blew me away then ... was the sacred album of my youth, in its own category throughout my life.
David Gilmour on playing "Time" live: “You know, once you’ve had that guitar up so loud on the stage, where you can lean back and volume will stop you from falling backward, that’s a hard drug to kick.”
My favorite part of this song (one of a hundred) is how the British accent was carried through the song. It (for me anyhow) gives it a genuine feeling of being there. The loss, the contentment and the urgency. Killer song if there ever was one.
One of the engineers on this album was Alan Parsons who was involved in the production of a lot of famous and classic albums. He had a performing career of his own as well that is worth checking out. Great reaction!
This reaction and analysis is wonderful. One listen and they get it, that means they really listened and are not just after views and likes. I saw the face change when the female background vocals started, that is a pure sign that they are into the song. This was great.
Feels like I was 25 only a couple of years ago, and I'm going to be 58 in a couple of months. Time seems to accelerate the older you get. I like you two. Great analysis.
Join the club. Life is like sound. A lot of silence then sound, then silence again, then sound again, etc. etc. Terrence McKenna said about death, " you don't have near enough information to worry about dying". Worrying is the worst thing you can do. Enjoy the time you have. Everything is now. Don't plan to live or your life will be spent planning to live. For a future time that never comes. Making plans for the future is incapable of someone who can not live in the moment. How true.
I like your thoughtful reviews, you take the time to really analyze the song. The "tick-tock" sound is played on the bass by muting the strings with one hand and sort of plucking the d and g strings back and forth. You can see Roger Waters do this during his live shows.
I enjoyed your reaction to this song. Seeing your expression change when certain phrases or imagery hit home was interesting. And from your statements after, it was clear that you "got it", that the deeper context was fully formed. I have seen many reaction videos to this song and too often it is clearly a surface level understanding. So, yes, you got the message of the song perfectly. But there is another aspect to this song as well. "Time" is about the realization and regret of that squandered youth. When you are young, you think, "I have plenty of time to learn this and plenty of time to do that." But, that was never true. Very soon, life kicks in. No more time to kill. You move out. You get a job. You work day after day. Before you know it, a decade has gone by, then two, three. You realize that you are never going to learn this or do that. You are out of time. But no one told you that you were running out of time for those things. You missed the starting gun for your life. (The song right after "Time" on the album is "Great Gig in the Sky" which is about death, first the desperate struggle of clinging to life then the inevitable surrender of letting loose the mortal coil, and finally ascendance to a higher plane of existence. So these two songs are intimately connected and almost always played together as they tell the story of the all too common path of life, regret, and death.) I have been listening to Pink Floyd since i was a small child, about fifty years. This song has always held the most meaning for me. I try to convey its lesson to my kids. If you want something, don't wait. Carpe diem and all that. Find your passion and run. Because the next song is coming and then it is too late. Oh, and that faint sound that persists throughout the song is...a heartbeat.
You've analyzed this song perfectly, and if you listen to the album start to finish you'll notice it's a continuos peace of art starting with hearing the mothers heart beat from inside the womb, and ending with the fading heartbeats of an old dying man
The tap tap ticking noise you hear at the beginning of the song is actually a bass guitar where the strings are muted. That represents the ticking clock - time going by. There was also a bass drum beat that replicated the beat of the heart boom-boom, boom-boom. It speeds up as time ticks by.... then the main part of the song begins.
The beat you were talking about is a metronome(used to keep TIME in music) the metronome accents are meant to sound like a heartbeat through out the song. symbolizing he is still alive or life.
An insightful and apt description of this "timeless" classic....loved your kaleidoscope of expressions with each passing line or note. You're a delightful couple who clearly appreciate this melancholic masterpiece...💖
Love the reaction, you guys interpreted it spot on, I grew up with my mom playing floyd and I have loved these songs (especially time) my entire life thus far, I think when I am 80 on my deathbed I will still enjoy listening to this song, because it is so sobering and so... human.
I thoroughly enjoyed the reactions and analysis. Thank you for taking the time to discuss one of my favorite Pink Floyd tunes. I look forward to viewing future reactions.
Loving the analysis of this, one of my fav Pink Floyd songs. & if you liked the woman's background vocals, then you'll LOVE the next song, which this bleeds into: 'Great Gig in the Sky'
Awesome reactions, thank you very much. This album should be taken in whole. Masterpiece. Another great song in this theme is Between the Wheels by Rush. Absolutely worth the time.
Wonderful video, right from the start with your introduction of yourselves. Thank you. (I always thought the alarms at the beginning indicated it was time to awake or enter into consciousness.)
I've listened to the song scores of times but never really listened to the words until now. I love the song (and the whole album) but never realized how moving it actually is. Wow!
I enjoyed watching and hearing your reaction to one of my favorite Floyd songs . It's so insightful to get a response from peopleOf different age, culture and gender to music I appreciate. was about 20, when Dark Side of the Moon came out. I had been a Floyd fan since the Syd Barrett days and it knocked me out. I think it holds the record for an album staying in the Hot Hundred hit parade. Listening to the whole album is a must. Thank you.
Loved when you jumped at the alarm!! Your reactions are AWESOME!!!! I love how you have you have the words in the corner too!!!! NIce idea... I have just found you two, I have a lot of catching up to do.
This is actually two songs off the Dark Side Of The Moon album. "Time" ends on the the phrase "Thought I's something more to say." This seamlessly flows into, "Breathe (Reprise)" which is the third verse from "Breathe" which is the second track on the album. Roger Waters on bass plays the metronome sound by muting the strings with his hand as he "clicks" the string with his pick. Also notice that the intro is exceptionally long at almost 2 1/2 minutes and the guitar solo is almost a minute and a half with very long and paced guitar bends. And the last line of the song is echoed near the end of the album by road manager Peter Watts who says, "I cant think of anything to say." The album fortunately ends more positively.
Wonderful reaction from two intelligent, honest and insightful people. When you said you are starting to realise why Pink Floyd are considered legendary I smiled, because when you have completed your journey you will understand they are, in the words of another commenter, one of the only reasons why a superior alien species might think twice about enslaving or obliterating homo sapiens, were they ever to visit our humble planet.
Awesome analyses after each song. Your depth and perception are uncanny. Some native english speakers need to take note how it should be done. You have a new subscriber.
You two are my favorite...I love your true enjoyment of the music you react to as well as a great understanding of music and all its nuances. Kirti's love for all this great music you react to reminds me of my wife. I think she is just great. You as well Savio. Keep up the fantastic job as I look forward to each and every one of your reaction videos. Thank you both so much for the smiles you put on my face and in my heart every time I watch one of these reaction videos.
Guys, subscribed to your channel. I've seen so many reactions on Time... But I didn't expect that the best one would come from one of our own. Thank you so much. I totally agree with your analysis of this song. Could you please react to Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd from the 1994 Pulse Concert?
Most of Pink Floyd's albums are concept albums, telling a story from the first song through the last! Gilmour and Waters weren't what you'd call friends but they created some of the greatest music ever! I suggest that you pick an album of your choice, put your headphones on, turn down the lights and let Pink Floyd take you on a magical journey! It will change your life! I had to edit this to say that I mean absolutely no disrespect to Syd Barrett, but, I found PF after the Syd years!
Yep, the song's timeless, if you will. (Though one might question how much or how frequently one can listen to it before it's no longer the best use of one's time. Wat.) Aaand, this is why I don't request the usual suspects: coz others'll do it for me! heh Tangential footnote: The "quiet desperation" line is a reference to Thoreau , who created a few timeless bits of his own.
React to the Entire The Dark Side of the Moon album its worth it literally describes Life as we see it i recommend this because loads of people have reacted to this and its a just amazing id love to see you guys react to it just to see your mind changes
The genius of this song lies in the fact that the song writer, Roger Waters, wrote this while he was in his late 20s. The wisdom of the song is way beyond his years, as many people don't completely understand the relevancy of the words of this song until they are much older in life and can relate to them through their own experiences. Pure genius.
Take some time to listen to the whole album in one go, as it was originally intended. It's really one track with different songs that flow into each other. A true iconic album, regarded as one of the finest recorded, spent about 13 years in the US album charts. A genuine rock masterpiece.
Pink Floyd is more than just music, Pink Floyd is an experience, play the full Dark Side of the Moon album from start to finish, the end of one song is the beginning of the next song
I am 73 and this song rings so true.
I am 64 and this is the music I was addicted to in the 70s when I was a teen and early 20s. I also change that lyric and have every year since! Who knew that it would be 40 years SO SOON!!!
the entire album is a masterpiece
As a 12 year old playing at my friends house his older brother was playing this album I stopped playing and just stood there listening to this track and the following track "great gig in the sky." Still has this overwhelming effect 46 years later.
Great reaction to an all-'time' favourite track....!

I really enjoy your insights and your reactions. Nice to have met both of you!
I’m very much enjoying your discovery of Pink Floyd. Very entertaining, insightful and evenly shared by you both. Please continue
And keep in mind - no PC's back then. So they had people running around manually tweaking these clocks so they'd go off in the way they wanted. It makes this album even more amazing, when you think about some of the the tricks needed - that could be simply done today.
You have just explored an musical masterpiece
Pink Floyd albums are a story in itself. Go from start to finish.

It takes some people years for it to click. But when it clicks, happiness follows!
I love that music bridges cultures, races and ethnicities. Pink Floyd is just different. Absolutely brilliant! I never get tired of listening to them. Thanks for your reaction.
I actually won two tickets to see Pink Floyd when I was in high school. They played all of dark side of the moon. It was epic.

The clocks and alarms were an awesome start 🎶 and the lyrics so wonderfully descriptive of life🎤 Wonderful reaction Enoma🎏🎉🎑
This song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it......so beautiful and meaningful ☀️☀️🙏🌞🌞🌞❤️❤️
We are all racing against the clock 🫣
One of Pink Floyd's many songs of wisdom.
As I grow older, I find myself more often quoting this song.
That 'Old guy' has such a grip on what the floyd are singing about he should be an honorary member of Pink Floyd !
I enjoyed your reaction to this song. Seeing your expression change when certain phrases or imagery hit home was interesting. How thier songs work together through a whole album is really worth a go,,

"Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way."
Roger waters sure hit it on the head here. Such a direct and confronting and yet poetic lyric.
Love the way you both “get it “ and plenty of emotion in your faces , great reaction 👍
Welcome to Pink Floyd. I recommend you guys take the journey. Begin with Dark Side from start to finish. Light a candle and take a break from it all.
Beautiful song and a beautiful album....

the most amazing thing about this masterpiece is that Roger Waters was nineteen when he wrote those lyrics, pure genius .
A wonderful masterpiece from the 70s ⏲️ Great reaction Enoma 💎

I could tell you both liked it. It's a special song. Thanks for your reaction, I really enjoyed it.
I've listened to the song scores of times but never really listened to the words until now. I love the song (and the whole album) but never realized how moving it actually is. Wow!
we only have one life to live and after that we're done so we must make the most out of our time doing the things we love and enjoy.

The most thought provoking song from Pink Floyd is Keep Talking live -pulse
R.I.P Richard Wright
Really enjoyed the reaction. Music is so beautifully universal.
You know the song is great when you get two wows from Kirti.

There is Pink Floyd.....

¡¡Monstruos!! ¡¡Lo más grande!!
These two are great.
I thought your interpretation of the song was spot on.
I’ve always found the best and meaningful lyrics coming from progressive rock. This is, of course, my own humble opinion.
The lyrics to this profound song are a warning.
Please please please react to the Pink Floyd album “ obscured by clouds”. Such a meaningful album I know you’ll love it. Peace and love ❤️❤️
glad you like what i grew up on, please enjoy more.
You are such a cute couple!!!
