Do you think they are true scam artists, trying to take money from consumers to line their pockets or is it possible they are actually that delusional and disconnected that they believe in what they are doing?
My thought on this whole giga mess, is that they didn’t INTENTIONALLY scam people. What I believe happened is they just wanted to make a cool game, didn’t have the experience, time, money, or leadership structure to do so and everything went wrong. Remember that the definition of scam means it’s intentionally trying to trick something rather than unintentionally tricking someone. If I told you that I’m going to build a car yet i have no clue how do do that, it’s not technically a scam if I show up with a wagon with a steering wheel. Its stupid and irresponsible. But not a scam. Telling someone you can make something only too later find out you couldn’t isn’t a scam. Stupid…yes. You’re responsible…yes. But a scam? Not necessarily. So what likely happened is that they thought they could make a game like TDB but after a few years of development figured out that it was a lot harder to do then they originally thought. It was over promised, ambitious , bloated, mismanagement that happened here. Not an intentionally scam, but rather an unintentionally disaster do too no planing and just plain stupidity.

Nah.... I distinctly recall the time they they released this game. That's entirely BS that they WILLINGLY gave out more refunds for the game.... In fact... Steam FORCED them to do this.. as they automatically refunded all players for the game who had bought it eventually... The two devs if I recall were stated to be 'Not answering their contact methods.. AND 'On Vactaion' from the office during the games release! That's in fact INSANELY suspicious as if they were actually going to make off with whatever amount of money they could BEFORE steam stepped in and saw the sketchiness of the situation.. So they ended up making NO money from the game.. Since they broke their promises to the public on every turn.... But also because how they were acting during the time of the game's release; No answering phones, being on vacation, and flying out of the same country as their studio.... It looked more like they were gonna try and get away with whatever money from the game's sales that they could and this is exactly how SCAMMERS would react normally to what they were releasing... So STEAM stepped up and ensured they couldn't make ANY money from sales at all for what they did.. ...And honestly .. good on Steam for doing so.. Because it shows game companies they can't or shouldn't attempt what this company did in the future without it hurting their bottom dollar.
These scammers deserved the backlash they received, along with losing the profit. However, their scam paled in comparison to Logan Paul's NFT game scam. Their Kickstarter has close to $12k out of 15k. Any speculation as to whether devs bumped it up or if there's really people that foolish to still support them? I'll give you a hint, the top donation is for 12,000 with one backer, but they only have 11,500. lol
0:10 We can't really compare The day before with Concord now can we.😏 One of them had EVERY opportunity to succeed and still didn't because of woke toxicity. The other one had no money and no time, you cannot build a game like that with just a handful of donos.
They got up to $14,332 AUD out of $22,630 AUD on their kickstarter with 28 backers that's an average of $511 AUD per backer.... what the hell, who are these people backing this shit?!
Fntastic trying to scam people again is sad.... but the thing that's even sadder is that Steam allowed them to list again after THEY had to FORCE refunds. Something about a fooling a man twice and all that. What's even worse is that I wouldn't be surprised if people still funded them for quite some money and/or bought the game once it releases in 2050 (or whatever year they're gonna delay it too after trademark infringements, devdrama, unexpected setbacks or whatever bs they come up with)
Just letting everyone know, if you pause at 10:30/23:30, and stare at the screen, like you would one of those "Magic" picture books. The screen becomes 3D... Dont ask me how i noticed this lol.

I could see *maybe* giving the devs a second chance IF they had come back and said something like, "We want to start fresh and do everything right. We do not ask for anything except maybe you taking a look at what we've made." And then just posting the game to Steam, perhaps free to play, perhaps for a small fee (talking $2-3 or something). And then did that like a half dozen more times, and had each of those be legitimate games and not scummy scammy BS. *maybe* then I could see saying .... well, they have spent a while rebuilding and asking for nothing while putting out games and stuff, so maybe give them a second chance, but even then ..... still no pre-order.
😂 The rebranding. The PDF document alone looks like it was made in Microsoft Word with a basic AF typeface and absolutely no graphics anywhere to be seen except for the repeat logo page which was awful anyways. The merch…seems like they’re learning their grifting techniques from somewhere…..🤔
Honesty, transparency, and professionalism are the fundamentals of business ethics, especially when you’re pleading to investors like you’re hanging off a cliff. How is this an acceptable “new” core set reveal in their minds… and how are they arrogant to the point this is a proud “new” core set reveal? Awful opening to their proposal, but guess that’s a part of their new guidelines…

Those 9 people better be the devs themselves because what idiot would ever support such a scummy company. Especially for such a mid game like what they showed. If they hit their goal we have lost as a community.
Sean Murray and his team read through community feedback, made an action plan and quietly got to work. No request for funding, just laser focus on developing features. This is not the path for a glorious comeback.
every time a company "sincerely apologizes" I just think about that one South Park bit where company reps just rub their nipples while saying "we're sorry" over and over.
I'm an Indie game dev - been doing it for 10 years - It's my career. While the Fantastic Devs are clearly pretty delusional, I can understand them wanting to continue making games and try to learn from their past mistakes. The thing is, is that in a situation where you have badly damaged your own reputation through your own actions - coming out and begging people for money, with the promise "We've" changed" is not the right thing to do. It shows a lack of genuine contrition.

Their Kickstarter has close to $12k out of 15k. Any speculation as to whether devs bumped it up or if there's really people that foolish to still support them? I'll give you a hint, the top donation is for 12,000 with one backer, but they only have 11,500. lol
0:10 We can't really compare The day before with Concord now can we.😏
One of them had EVERY opportunity to succeed and still didn't because of woke toxicity.
What's even worse is that I wouldn't be surprised if people still funded them for quite some money and/or bought the game once it releases in 2050 (or whatever year they're gonna delay it too after trademark infringements, devdrama, unexpected setbacks or whatever bs they come up with)
"What are you doing?!. Everyone knows that stupid game isnt real"...
FNTSTIC STATEMENT
Step 1. Admit lies and incompetence
Step 2. Promise they aren't lying now and will be competent
🤣🤣🤣
Only $12000 to enjoy an unforgettable dinner with the founders of Fntastic? Take my money, please!!
Just letting everyone know, if you pause at 10:30/23:30, and stare at the screen, like you would one of those "Magic" picture books. The screen becomes 3D... Dont ask me how i noticed this lol.
Started following you when red dead redemption 2 was coming out and you were the best source for updates, now you just complain and complain. SMH it sucks I gotta unfollow but you’re just negative now.
Okay, okay, you got us, we were lying and scamming. But now we're going to be totally honest and professional. Trust us, bro!
Quick question, if the devs of "the day before " trailer vid garnered millions of views, would they in turn make money from said trailer?
The ONLY tiny point I'll grant them is that TH-camrs do tend to spread a negative bias like wildfire sometimes. Concord is a recent example of a game that deserved it and Star War Outlaw is one that didn't.
Ooooo. Ooooo you I have an idea… easy scam, fall guys with hard hats……
Genius!!!!😂
I'm to busy for the Day before scammers or most triple A's and especialy that one quadruple A.
*I've been playtesting the Forever Winter early access and couldn't be happier!*
Have a fun weekend LegacyKillaHD and community
State of decay is better game. That game is actually open world. Release date 2013.
Wow. I honestly can't believe they are that dumb. But that merch though!
Such Fntastic. Much back to win. Wow looking good. Very tough times.
I kinda hope someone asset flips their merch into real merch.
Devs: Our scam failed the first time, but don't worry, we learned our lesson. Everyone deserves a second chance right? Presenting... Fantastic 2.0!
12k wow thats a very expensive dinner that you will be paying for which is really with two random tramps of the street.
At least concord didn't false promise what they advertised is what they released even though it wasn't good.
they had 6 long years from the first announcement to be honest and professional.. nothing changed in 10 months and they came back with a whitepaper, a lame fallguys clone, a merch store and asking for money. . .
Speaking of honesty, they lied once again in their 2023 part about technical issues and low scores. Can't be trusted.
Hey, I'm mentioned as "a twitter user". Nice coverage. Also they're actively deleting threads from Steam forums (like mine that you showed where I listed off the assets) and deleting posts and banning users on their Discord. Standard fare for these guys, they have no idea what they're doing.
Lord... do uTubers not hv any imagination anymore?
"It's worse than u think!!!"... is in every F'king title.
Just that n the title leaves all credibility & the desire to listen and care fall right out the window
They dodged one lawsuit to come back for hopefully a massive lawsuit.
every time a company "sincerely apologizes" I just think about that one South Park bit where company reps just rub their nipples while saying "we're sorry" over and over.
If it wasnt so damn expensive i would actually buy a shirt 😂 i bet we will never see the like of this dumpster fire again
