The audacity of these people to say that everyone deserves a second chance. Like, bro, you messed up your second chance even before The Day Before, how many second chances do you want?
To the shock of no one, it's revealed to be made entirely of store bought assets. Apparently the demo comes with a file labeled "Make sure to remove this before publishing", so they're incompetent at even copy pasting.
Ignoring what they did in the past, I have to say, this is one of the worst video game demo I have ever seen. It ain't about being buggy of anything--the game works most of the time. It's just that even when it works as intended, this game is still a uninspiring, unoriginal singleplayer platformer that force you to play in mutilplayer despite having level that can be beaten by just one player. A demo is supposed to lay out a outline of what the full game got in store and encourage people who were interested to play the full game, and I felt like this failed in both. Now bringing back up this studio's past, and their campaign to earn a second chance to come back……with this? I don't think they know just how bad their hands were, hell, I think they don't even know how to play.
@@ReigoVassal I am not sure they even know how to scam anymore..... The day before looked interesting in the trailers at one point. This sorry excuse of a co-op platformer looks dull and plays like uncooked pasta. No way in hell someone would looked at this and go"Emmm that's what I want, A co-op platformer that have next to none co-op elements and level designs that are outdated since the 16-bit console era." They might make more money selling their T-shirt and hat than with this insult to interactive media.
Don't you just love it when the weird cosmic factory-labyrinth is full of jogging hooded monk assets with propellers on their backs who just sort of run back and forth in mid-air, knocking unsuspecting workers down into the eternal void below or just casually ragdolling them on the walkways? That's always a sign of really good game design. Such a cohesive vision here, the stark contrast of industry and religion... wow!
"Hey dad, I need a loan of $2000" "Why, son?" "Well I need to pledge a lot to my own project so people think it's a legit Kickstarter that might actually happen" "Hmmm, alright, seems legit. Not that different to what I do at my perfectly normal corporation, to be honest. Here you go."
They have the balls to say "everyone deserves a second chance" after lying to everyone with the day before, then ask for money on their kickstarter. I'm actually mad
I typically never comment on things but seeing this game genuinely fills me with a sort of disgust as that is the best I could describe. The concept of a top down co-op platformer on paper seems like a genuine fun time, but the execution they have is absolutely lazy and infuriatingly bland. The games industry stopped using the lives system for a reason; waiting for everybody to respawn takes away whatever "fun" you were currently having. It just shows what happens when you have a "game" studio only consisting of ideas guys. I've seen people half my age have a better understanding on good game design, it's sad really.
The games industry hasn't moved away from set lives, lmao. WH40k Space Marine 2 has a downs/respawning system in co-op and that game is massively successful. Out of all the criticisms you could make of this game, you chose to invent one.
@@CarrotConsumer but games like getting over it mostly allow you to save yourself from losing all progress in case you screw up but here a bird touches you once and you immediately drop dead
I’m in their discord, I criticized Escape Factory for being a mediocre clone and everyone dog piled on me calling me a hater. People there have their heads so far up their asses they could eat their breakfast twice a day
It's actually suprising they even have a functional demo. Tho it looks like a game a student would make using a unity tutorial and asset pack for learning how the engine works. Really shows how underqualifed that team actually is.
I mean that's what they did with every game prior to TDB. Made a pretty basic demo, put it out into early access, then sold the game to another company and got started on the next demo.
Incredible how the devs managed to fuck up a multiplayer party game by making individual objectives completable by one person instead of working as a team. It's like they made a single player platformer and tacked on coop as an afterthought.
This is some extremely basic gameplay, litteraly a player controller, a few animations for moving object (if they aren't done via script), a few collider which trigger a death function, and that basically it, they did some assets and stuff, but man, this is the biggest 10/20 i ever seen in my life.
If anyone somehow gives these guys money for this, they should not get a refund when it inevitably falls through. There’s no education in the second kick of a mule.
...And TH-cam decided to put a helpful link to The Day Before, the scam game that got removed and refunded. Thanks TH-cam, I'd love to browse an unavailable scam game by the developers of the thing oboe is _actually_ playing in the video!
That's actually kind of important in this context. No name devs managed to reach the most wish listed game on steam, and milk millions from investors, including Nvidea with nothing to show, then eventually just farted a bunch of loose assets into steam, and closed within a month. Otherwise they'd still be no bodies, but now they're proven scammers who ascended to the highest podium, only with nothing to show for it.
Their second chance was Prop Night. Or maybe it was TDB because they killed Wild 8. This is like their fourth or fifth chance. It’s not a comeback. They’ve been here for years.
The nerve on these guys to not only come back after what they’ve done, to promote another game that is obviously a scam, with the same goddamn name. They couldn’t even form another fake studio under another moniker. They’re not even trying to deceive people at this point, this is just plain lazy.
Not like I care for this but at least it looks like they can actually make this a functional game, not saying it's gonna be popular or anything, forget it being so similar to other products but yea, maybe they can actually finish this one...
