Maybe I'm being a boomer, but I'd never buy my new driver anything torquey or with a V8. Learn on something slow and cheap and then go get some power after a few years.
Honestly a good mindset, i learned on a manual golf, and been driving the family nissan for awhile, and i still dont want anything crazy, just something that can go semi quick and is reliable
@@imTwicy yeah and thats in like netherlands and shit but in slovenia, croatia or something like that you cant find them under 20k or you just need an import, its crazy just how cheap europe cars are in the states tho they can get 335i for like 7k

I bought a 1992 C4 with the 6-speed as my first car back in February, and I'd say you nailed it on the ownership experience. It's a fantastically fun car, but not without its faults. If you don't mind spending a few bucks and the occasional weekend working on it, you're getting what is easily the best value sports car you can buy right now. People knock the C4 for being underpowered and riding like crap, but by the time they released the LT-1 engine in them, they were making 300hp. The suspension is really firm and the whole car feels like its about to fall apart when you drive on a rough road, but once you get into the twisties you'll understand why its so stiff. It's been a great first car, but if you have the money for a C5, spend a few extra bucks and get one. It's basically a better version of the C4, and while I don't regret buying the C4, a C5 solves a lot of the issues I mentioned.
Yeah, I like the videos but it's always centered to US, here in Europe all of those are insanely expensive (ex: mx5 NA for 12-14k, gt86 for 30k, wrxs for 40k+, corvettes for 100k, and so on
Could you make a video on how to buy a car? I have always been a facebook marketplace kind of guy myself. A video on weighing out the pros and cons of methods of finding and purchasing a car wether its facebook, used car inventory online, or driving around to used car lots. Would make for a great video! Thanks & loved the video.

I will give you my First car. I Had a 2003 Audi a3 3.2 V6, yes the same engine as in Golf R32, so 250hp, 300Nm, manual and AWD, i paid.... 2600€ (2800$) for it and it's one of most reliable german engine's ever made. Mine had over 250k miles and it was like New with 0 problems
How did the 3rd Gen Acura TL not make this list?! I own one in gunmetal with an A-Spec kit on it and I still get compliments to this day on how good the car looks- even in today’s standards. Not to mention the most reliable car I’ve ever owned. 235k on the motor and still ticking!!
honestly i feel like ppl should know about the vw jetta because its basically the same as the golf (unless you want a 2 door) and its cheaper for the same thing, also mercedes seems like a good price for how much raw horsepower you get if you dont mind having a luxury car (aka free weight reduction potential)
How about the 2003 brvada Oldsmobile which in my opinion is good for any car enthusiast because it is a massive sleeper that your mom would think is just some other suv on the road
@@AbsoluteGarbageContent I have the v6 its fun and you can make it quick. However the GT is much better. These cars are very reliable and the GTs have potential. if you can find a clean example for 5-6k id say go for it.
what if you did a car buying video for cars after 2010? because personally for me as I have my current car I wouldnt want to get something that is older/older year. just an idea. great video 🙏
Go older. They are easier to work on. My first car was a 66 chevy bellair. One of the best cars I ever had. But the best I ever had. Was a 87 isuzu trooper 2.
Best first car for real car person who really wants to drive well is something seriously slow. You should start with 50BHP, on a track that disallows going into 3rd gear, then move to fast track in the same car, then upgrade to 100BHP, then to 150, then to 200, then you can start upgrading faster by 100 instead of 50BHP. If you skip any stage and not learn to drive every single of these slow cars to very limit at all kinds of corners, then you will never really learn to drive.
'83-'85 Mazda Rx-7. My '83 Rx-7 GSL SE was the miata before miata, and until 1994, I whooped every one of them. Not bad for being 10 years older with similar HP/weight. I still want to know where that parking lot is!
