Great video and choreography! Your narration on the history of the Marvel vs Capcom franchise was entertaining and the impact the series had in your life shows how certain games can have a lifelong impact. Keep up the great work with your channel 👍
Thank you for the compliments and kind words. Thank you for checking my video out!
Capcom 2D graphics are timeless, glad younger people love them
MSH vs. SF falls under that "Capcom laziness" thing that started with SF2, but the OST is fantastic, and most returning characters have at least one new special or super move. This also happened with returning characters in MvC1, but most characters in MvC2 that hadn't been seen since any of the first 3 games got nothing new.
I believe Iron Man was planned to be in MSH vs. SF, but Marvel decided to give him an exclusive license to Acclaim (who turned out one mediocre game in that time) and which is why we have War Machine in MvC1. I guess that exclusivity ran out in time for MvC2.
If we ever discover time travel, you gotta go back to the 90s/early 00s and see the absolute HYPE these games had when they were new.
@@Ashura96 definitely something I wish I lived through and only heard from the stories of people who were there. Didn’t know about that deal with acclaim for Ironman. Definitely makes alot more sense why they Platte swapped him in mvc1 and didn’t add him in MSH vs SF.
Yes indeed
As long as the marvel vs capcom 2 game has the points to buy new characters like the Dreamcast did. That was really part of the fun to me back then
Awesome video, MVC's generational legacy is huge. Keep the content up my man.
Well done video. Always glad to see younger people have appreciation for some of the gems i grew up with. Subbed.
I played MVC3, it was the one of the only fighting games we had for the PS3, I was never able to play the old ones. Years later, I have UMVC, its my favorite fighting game, but then I see MVC2, I want to try it so bad, but I can't. Then, the Nintendo direct happens, and now, I am gonna take the ride. 😊
You are an awesome dude! You seem very passionate about MVC, and enjoyed hearing your history and recap on the series, a release date cannot come soon enough, MVC Collection is easily the best announcement of 2024, and 2024 being the 30th Anniversary of COTA released in 1994, that cannot be a coincidence.
Your video was on my recommendations; came to check it out. The algorithm is working in your favor. 👾🎮
Great video my guy! My first was X-men: COTA and then seeing X-Men Vs Streetfighter on release blew my mind! (the animated series would be running during these periods so it was ethereal)
Subbed congrats on hitting 200! 😁
Thank you! 💪
Great video and editing! This was one of my highlights from the Direct. Looking forward to playing The Punisher side scroller too as I've never played it. Really hope Digital Eclipse at some point get involved with Capcom and can release a compilation of the 90s Spider Man games, etc
Can't wait for the Marvel vs. Capcom collection. Nice video, keep it up!
“The 90s collab no one saw coming” bro you were born after the games came out
2005 💪
@@thepixelcritics yea exactly haha
Just glad that he can appreciate it.
I don't get this sentiment. I was born after these games too but I love them all equally... Just because you weren't born to see it, doesn't mean you can't talk about it...
Wow i m 1983 and its enough if i slightly care for games of the late 70ies xD
Love 5hese games so much. Still remember playing against people in College when X-men: Cota and Street Fighter Alpha came out. Yeah, I'm old.
You know what's really cool about the SF characters in X-Men vs Street Fighter? It's the first time we saw Cammy's Alpha era sprites, before Alpha 3 or even the console versions of Alpha 2.
Dear guys from US/CA/EU/JP!
We count on you guys to financially support this game.
Sincerely,
The rest of the world that can't afford to buy video games because food is expensive.
good video dude. glad yall are gettin this revival.
You deserve a lot more subscribers and views.
@@Thepopcornator working my way there little by little
Dope video! I’m also 19 and a huge fan of this franchise, as well as both companies independently. I think it’s annoying when millennials or gen X tries to act like it’s impossible for someone our age to be into this stuff. They act like shit just stopped existing after they grew up like, nah bro we were playing that shit too. We were watching reruns of the cartoons they had, playing games on the consoles they left behind. They forget that shit doesn’t just up and disappear for the next generation. It might not be popular but not everyone was getting the new shit when it came out.
@@zillakilla1618 my uncle gave me an nes when I was in 2nd grade and that really got me to become aware of retro gaming. Me encountering this series was coincidental because of the characters featured. Loved the 90s Spider-Man animated series as well as X-men. So this felt right at home
Im planning to buy 2 copies. A digital and a physical copy to keep sealed. (Then probably unseal if they ever delist the games again)
Didn't mention Anita being a secret character in MSH
0/10
Jk great video.
Great video awesome story telling as well.
Hello Collin I swore I sent an email back in 2021 asking capcom about this game the sequel and they did! I love your channel new subscriber and supporter!
Thank you! Glad to have you join the channel. I’m glad they’re finally giving us a rerelease, hoping for the 4th game now.
I remember playing all this games when they first came out damn I’m old lol I pre ordered this as fast as I could
Great video! Helped me make the decision to get this
Great video mate. Personal connections to games always stand out in the crowd - I hope your channel does well.
COMBO IS THE KEY
ill def import a physical copy of this, cant wait to play xmen vs street fighter again
I was born in 96. This game feels oddly important to me, and I’ve always played it casually. (No assists, infinites)The xmen were still relevant in my childhood but being phased out. Iron man and Thor being popular now is so surreal after they felt like nobodies for my upbringing, my only memory of them being Ultimate Alliance. Spider-Man and Wolverine dominating the comic book zeitgeist. Them removing these characters and giving their moves/functions to other characters was out of pocket. The mvc series owes its origins thanks to the xmen collaborations.
Capcom wouldn’t dare remove ryu and give his kit to a new capcom representative, these characters are just as important.
Would be a dream if they could pull off smash’s ’everybody is here concept’
Classic mega man and mega man z, and zero, and roll in the same game would be nuts
Marvel wasn’t doing really hot as a company during this time from what I’ve researched and was forced to sell off some of their properties like spiderman and the X-men leaving the mcu to popularize the people not many people cared about at the time
I played NYC when I was seven so I grew up playing it
I'm so excited to get that game
Because If They Announced Marvel Vs Capcom 4 this year I'll blown my mind
I love your passion for them buh!
I’m soulfully invested in all of them.
I remember buying a Sega Saturn and having it switched. Just to play X Men vs Street fighter and Marvel Super Heroes vs Streetfighter.
Fantastic video.
Take my money twice day one!!!
I wonder how a DC vs Capcom game would be lol
I wish this would happen.
MvC2 is the reason I play fighting games at all. I remember playing at an arcade for the first time (along with mvc1 and marvel superheroes vs street fighter, absolutely goated arcade) and despite sucking at it, immediately falling in love with it. I remember immediately looking to see if they had it available on a console I had (they didn’t) but I saw street fighter 4 on a shelf one day, recognized Ryu, and have played basically every fighting game I can get my hands on. I’m so glad that arcade had marvel2, and I’m so glad this collection will bring them to modern audiences with physical versions so they can’t delist them like they did with the ps3/360 hd version. It’s also apparently running the arcade version of MvC2 which I believe will be the first time the arcade version will be available on a home console which is cool. Anyway love the video, could really feel that love for the series shine through, as someone who is also 19 and grew up playing MvC1/2 it really spoke to me. And really looking forward to the collection, definitely getting it on all platforms
This is the marvel universe my head canon is in.
Hopefully they announce a release date at EVO!
Great video dude👍 can’t wait to see more
Yea im definitely buying this game recently ive been getting HEAVY into retro and handhelds I haven’t even got a ps5 n i might not get one til gta6 lol ill probably buy this twice one for my nephew and one for thw system i dont have yet thats how much i love this game 😅
Dude this video rocks
Thank you!
*all platforms except Xbox.
Why do people like "I Wanna Take you for a Ride"? It's horrible, a huge downgrade compared to the first one!
awesome video bro!
Hate to break to you buddy, but it seems the collection will be using the latest version of X-Men vs Street Fighter.
And? The game's still going to be fun no matter what.
We need a new Marvel vs Capcom game 🎮 ASAP

Always happy to see these games connect with others
No they won't all they know are click bait TH-cam videos and tiktok. This generation has zero skill
Great video, subbed. I'm so happy MvC is back. Also cool to see that people younger than me are still interested in it. They were before my time too (2000 kid) and I thought I was some sort of weird outlier even for my generation
This was a really good video! I liked your analysis of each game and the series as a whole.
I’m definitely going to try and get the collection on Switch when it comes out. These games look awesome
Couldn’t recommend them more. Thank you for the compliments!

@@goldfirenatsuki correct, yeah I realized I messed that up after the video went live. I hope they do port it at a later date
ur adorable . im 33 and i played in the arcade when the games where coming out. its super cool too see someone so young appreciating the greatness of these games. the fact that they still hold up is a testament to the love the devs put into it
You must have been adorable at the age of 4 playing children of the atom.
@@jaysuschristmas4909 lol i was playing games at 4 i had a sega ! i did play that xmen one but more like i played in 96-2000 when i was like 6 . the xmen animated show was my favorite
@spacechannelg6843 not reaching up to that arcade cabinet tho. I sure wasn't allowed in an arcade when I was 4. Or 6.
@@jaysuschristmas4909 they had stools for the kids back then. In the laundromat or even the arcades
Only thing I dislike about MVC2 is the damn music 😂
😂 it is an odd soundtrack for fighting games but at this point it’s iconic and I personally dig it. My favorite sound design is mvc1 tho. But I’m very biased
I read that MvC2 for Xbox 360 and ps3 had a hip-hop mixtape and independent music and custom soundtracks. Maybe the collection should add other alternatives like rock, blues, techno, metal, etc for the music covers.
@@solidmage1720 they might remix a couple songs but since they’re only porting over the roms for the arcade and making slight changes, I think the only reason they would change the sound from the original is due to having the rights for some of the originals. I would love to have both the hd release and the orginal sound track mixed in if possible
9:50 bro that’s a port / “remaster”
True
Imagine saying the ps2 version is "forgettable" while it goes for $150 on ebay..
Worst version of an expensive game 😂
I mean the game was so elusive people would pay $150 for the worst version of the game
It only goes for that much cause people back in the day didn’t even buy it. That version and the original Xbox version
Lol all late and shit
the Playstation 1 versions are wayyy better. there's a super bar fill cheat, no infinites (so even akuma is competitive), you can link supers, more options. and you can tag out if you go opposite characters and turn on a cheat.
this makes the Playstation 1 version more fun.
I love the franchise even marvel vs Capcom Infinite. I like it a lot especially because it have a story mode
