HOLY GUACAMOLE I NEED MORE FINAL FANTASY VIDEOS NOW THIS IS GOLDEN. DEFENITYLY SHARING THIS WITH EVERYONE I NKOW
go to bed it's too late ahhhhh
the DS version is 100% more worth the price (not much, relatively) and id say its on par with the console version (keeping in mind that its a DS game)
I can’t say I’ve actually seen any gameplay of that version. I knew it existed but that was the extent of my knowledge
@@thepixelcritics it’s a 2D metroidvania with some CRAZY combat and movement
Just wanted to let you know I clicked on this video to say I’m not watching the video based solely off that corny ass title.
Bruh you better shut tf with that title, I’ll d ride this game until I die
lol, I just don’t get the hype 😂
I remember downloading the demo to XMen Origins: Wolverine this game when I first got Xbox Live back in 2012. It was fun from what I played. I really like it, though the game is stupid expensive so I doubt I'll play it any time soon, but if I find it at a good price, I will definitely check it out. Great content, man. Love your stuff.
I think I paid 30 bucks for my copy back in the day at a game store, definitely a hidden gem for the bloat that is movie tie in games
Great video. I'm not the biggest Marvel fan but I do like beat em ups and know this game was rather rare, so it was nice finally seeing a review on the game. Looking forward to seeing you review other Marvel games in the future. Love your content, man.
Appreciate the kind words. Thanks for checking out the video!
I love both Shattered Dimensions and Edge of Time but I can replay Edge and enjoy it, Shattered was great like the first playthrough or 2 when I was 11 and after all this time I still find it hard to sit through some of the missions.
The Vulture thing always kind of bothered me about the game. It is indeed something from the comics, but the comics themselves are pretty dark and the game really isn't so that little piece of backstory actually being brought up feels out of place tonally, IMO. Maybe it would've worked for me if the overall tone of the game was closer to Arkham games.
This is really the only exposure I’ve had to Spider-Man noir and I agree it’s really odd they dropped than and played it off like it was a light detail. Felt out of place
Looking forward to the possible Edge of time review, it definitely has a more fleshed out story at the cost of weaker level design to me at least
That’s what I’ve heard so far, I’m excited to get to it here soon
First, great review🎉
Thanks for checking it out 💪
Good on you for going through the master piece of the DCAU. I just hope that once you run through it and move onto other Western Action shows made by a lot of the same people that you realize just how much they truly were slumming it when they got saddled with Ben 10 duty. And it's not that Ben 10 is bad, it's just that by that point everyone involved was clearly burned out and on corporate welfare and just trying to ride out their Twilight years at Warner's animation department without having to stress themselves dealing with DC's vetoes and suggestions and mandates and general meddling, good or bad.
Reads the title: It exists?!
I have all these on my Anbernic but I’m totally buying this thing anyway
Crazy that before d&w the closest we got to Hugh in the yellow and blue suit was the x men origins tie in game
Never thought of it that way, but thank god for it
Superman Returns and Justice League Heroes are really good.
I own both of them, I haven’t played through returns since I was a kid and heroes I’ve never put in my console. Might have to make a video on them some day
Origins was such a good game. I can't believe it never got a remaster.
Great video! It's criminal that the X-men origins Wolverine game didn't become Xbox backwards compatible.
Would’ve loved the series X fps boost
Nice
The Death And Return Of Superman was a pretty good game.
Movie tie in games were on something else in those days man. The revenge of the sith game copy/pasted scenes from the movie that wasn’t even released when the game came out. A pg13 wolverine movie gets the most violent game you’ve ever played. What a time to be alive
I miss some of them but we get a lot of good games that aren’t tie ins now so I’m glad that they’re more consistent now
What about the X2 game where you play as Wolverine thst game was so much fun back in the day on ps2
OMG YES I JUST FOUND A COPY OF WOLVERINE REVENGE FOR LIKE 5 BUCKS I WAS WONDERING IF IT WAS GOOD
Yeah one of the better super hero games from that generation for sure
@@thepixelcritics i mainly got it cus it was cool but now im lowkey excited to play it cus of this video
I enjoyed the shit out of this game in 2009. I bought a PS3 recently, got this game again and played it again. I loved it in 2024 too!
Yea im definitely buying this game recently ive been getting HEAVY into retro and handhelds I haven’t even got a ps5 n i might not get one til gta6 lol ill probably buy this twice one for my nephew and one for thw system i dont have yet thats how much i love this game 😅
superman tas is such an underrated masterpiece with a stacked cast
Bro I would’ve never remembered this game if not for this video, thanks for the nostalgia trip
That’s partially why I make them, glad you enjoyed!
I enjoyed superman returns for old xbox as a guilty pleasure. Im kinda wishing with dolphin capable of mods, i really wish for the dolphin version of shadow of Apokolips to be modded as much as possible as it has potential to have an excellent modding community. Undefeated and GTA 5 mods also shown us good potential for Superman game tho I'm not sure what the story should be like. Aside from beating bad guys (the fighting should be like dragon ball raging blast 2) Id also love there to be special tasks and puzzles to solve (like Zelda and the Lego DC games) Overall I think a Superman game is easier to make than people think. It's the story that's always the hardest part.
I feel like with all the excellent writers it’s more about just getting the right person to write the story for the game
@@thepixelcritics there's also Justice League legacy (the openbor game by zvitor)
Wolverine ps5 I hope is crazy
So pumped
ever played dino crisis
I can’t say I have
the only good thing to come out of that movie
Unfortunately a very true statement
the ending in origins revealing that this whole time wolverine was narrating from an apocalyptic future was nuts man. like i dont think it was even teasing a sequel, it just ended in the most x-men way possible, and now i really want to play in that setting
The actually good Marvel movie games have been getting popular again. Knew this would happen as I purchased most years ago and they got delisted. Wouldn’t be surprised if Marvel teamed up with Bluepoint or Insomniac to remake/port them
There are some I definitely wanna see make a come back but I think since the developers of the original games share rights with marvel on most of them it’d be an expensive move for them. I’d be down for things like the captain America game and the spiderman games to come back.
Let's not forget the Atari Superman game. It's one of my most memorable games. Couldn't really tell you why....but if you played it you'd know about the either really like it or really don't like respond it gives. 👌🏿for me.
X-Men Origins reminds me a lot of another movie tie-in game, having lots of gore and generally being considered better than the movie it was based on, The Punisher (2005).
I’ll have to look into that, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it
Deadpool game is so good 🤞🤞
Hey man, just found your channel and these videos are great! Keep it up dude!
thank you
I kind of feel bad for Superman 64, imagine having all that ambition only to end up one of the gaming history's biggest jokes. I wonder what it would've been like if it was actually good.
Hulk Ultimate Destruction had a similar issue with missiles being really annoying and getting knocked back to ridiculous degrees especially with heat seeking missiles. Superman and Hulk being super weak to missiles in their video games who would've thought. I also find it weird how this game seemingly came out after when Superman TAS got cancelled and Justice League started airing.
Yeah idk how there was still interest in making games around the theme of something that was canceled but I’m all for it.
@@thepixelcritics Surprised they didn't make a DCAU JL game instead.
This game is literally what Superman 64 could AND should have been!😮
U mean should AND could
The 1988 Superman arcade game isn't bad.
Also Superman is the *only* video game (or fictional character in general) character that is "realistic" and doesn't force you to come up with headcanons. Examples : In Spider-Man games he often gets shot, now in some he is wearing armor suit but in most it is just average tight costume that is just there for aesthetic purposes. And some instead of starting bleeding and starting to having some permanent effects on your gameplay (like The Amazing Spider-Man 1 scene) he just loses some % of HP. Same with any non superhero characters too unless it is Tarkov or Day Z or something. Now, with Superman you *DON'T* need to close your eyes and gloss it over by gameplay convention. He is Superman, ofc he can take a gunshot without suffering anything long term in short term and to quickly recover. And then he comes back after death and "Game Over". At the same time it isn't The Spectre or Dr. Manhattan situation, you can always imagine that he is depowered, didn't take in enough yellow sun or is under effects of kryptonite or k-metal Or just *pretending* to be as weak as this for whatever reason. Superman is the ONLY character that is both making "sense" and flexible like that, and all it is by original character design, unlike for example Batman having automatic grappling gun, which only came from the 1989 Batman movie or having his cape as a glider which came up from 60s comics (and some very faint examples in original "Rob't" Kane comics) and especially after TDKR comics, or even being anti "guns" guy while at the same time using "not-guns" and having machine guns and rockets on batmobile which is also from TDKR (original Batman when he had machine gun on batplane he Wasn't anti-gun, and when he became non-gun user batplane didn't have machine guns anymore while before TDKR batmobile never had any weapon in the first place!) and now imagine Arkham games where you have to manually climb heights by the rope and where cape is at best to protect you from flames and to look cool and in order to drop from tall buildings you either need to have parachute or The Batman 2021-esque gliding suit (Detective Comics #33, Batman #31 for example). So when people say it is "impossible" to make Superman game it really isn't, it is almost impossible to make NON Superman game.
You are wrong, but I was there too. Superman Returns is a second Great Superman game and with SoA they are like ying and yang of approach to Superman game, SoA treats him like a video game character with perfect balance, closed levels in false open world, while Returns treats Superman like most comics ie he really Is THAT tough nothing at all can stop him and only Real way badguys can hurt him is by hurting his ego ie by hurting civilians and the more fragile than him city (="world") and it shows the absolute MUNDANE and *ROUTINE* nature of Superman at his job just perfectly, you would really only enjoy your powers for 5 minutes (and also in case they either didn't kick in until certain age like post-Crisis or were slowly evolving like with original Superman just compare Superman #6 to #17 in case of just super speed alone) rest of the time it really is like any job or activity that you just do again and again and it makes Me (ME ME ME) at least appreciate Superman at least from that aspect alone, the same way I appreciate superMen in real life who driving this civilization and allow clean water, electricity, buildings that don't collapse, etc despite being often underpaid and definitely underappreciated for several reasons.
9:50 bro that’s a port / “remaster”
True
When I got this game I remember not liking how slow the flying was, so I had used a GameShark code to speed up the flight. There were two speed codes. The second one pretty much broke the game though lol. Ultimately I think Superman Returns flight was better especially when he broke the sound barrier.
plz tell me you got twitter or something i want your constant hot takes
I don’t at the moment, was thinking about making one for this channel. Probably will here soon
lmaooo this is funny, but i'm very nostalgic to the bad used gamestop covers
It's awesome to see someone making content based on Superman games! There aren't many people doing it on TH-cam, and most of the ones that do just make fun of them without seeing their redeeming qualities. It would be great to see a video for some of the other good Superman games like Superman (AKA Sunman) on NES, Death and Return of Superman for SNES, and Superman Returns on 360.
Thank you for the feedback, I’ve been thinking about doing a follow up video to this with more games. I’ll probably end up doing it not after to long
@@thepixelcritics yea sounds nice, let us know whatchu think of the man of steel 2002 n superman returns 2006 n others
Do you have favorite Superman TAS episode
Probably either Knight time or new kids in town. As a kid though I really like the episode with the flash.
Tools of the trade and My Girl are two episodes that someone in my family had recorded in VHS in the 90's. So when I watch those two episodes I get an absolute heart warming feel of nostalgia.
You poor child. If only someone could have warned you about Superman 64.
