      Buy a cheap Dreamcast (make sure is says 0, or 1 on the bottom) and buy a GDemu off of eBay. It allows you to play games of a SD card. Average about 60 bucks, about the price for modern triple a released game. No soldering required. Just open up the console, snap off the disc drive, and snap the GDemu in it's place.

    I know it's impossible to call a piece of entertainment the greatest of its genre but to me, MVC2 is. This game blew my mind when it came out and is still just as fun today. And I like the jazzy soundtrack but I'm a biased trumpet player. If the question is the most important fighting game of all time though, it's Street Fighter II hands down.

    1:21:06 "The music is subjectively awful, and features a jazz soundtrack, ill-fitting of any fighting game." Skullgirls would like to have a word with you. Jazz and Big Band inspired tracks can work really well in a fighting game, if the people in charge put some serious effort in. (I have not heard the soundtrack for that Marvel vs Capcom game, but it's worth pointing out regardless.)

    I have since my teenage years spent thousands upon thousands of hours on MVC2 and nothing will ever come close. I have played it on arcade cabinets in my youth, in my early years of working life, on a few different consoles, using both thumbs on my iphone, and now I'm still emulating it on PC. I even just fired it up last night with a USB joystick.
    In comparison I've clocked 6 hours on my MVC:Infinite. They'll never reach the peak of MVC2 ever again.

    • @Albert-lj5jb
      @Albert-lj5jb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think it mostly depends on your generation. It's easier to see younger generations liking MVC3 the most. I'm of that older generation though who grew up in the 90's with SF2 and the X-Men cartoon, so naturally, I prefer all the VS games up to MVC2, whereas I don't really care for MVC3 as it has a lot of characters I liked from previous VS games missing and a lot of characters I either don't really know, I don't care for, or I simply just don't like.
      As superficial as it seems, the roster based on appearances is a big deal, just look at MVCI and all the hate it got for not including any X-men characters, a big reason why that game was a financial flop.

    • @endlesspath250
      @endlesspath250 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Albert-lj5jb Yeah, the roster in MvCI was a let down, considering they removed Iron Fist, Akuma, and Vergil.
      And, while I liked the concept of the infinity gem mechanic, it kinda dumbed down the tag mechanic in turn, and the hits don’t look as satisfying as previous entries.
      I also played a bit of the older games. Don’t want to put those games down.

    Am I the only one who finds the colors of MvC 3 to be too dark overall? In most other games of the series, bright colors and sunny stages are practically everywhere. In MvC3, it is either night or a cloudy day. It takes away a lot of the enjoyment from looking at those cool cartoon characters beat up each other.
