I've had the honor of being a fur mom to poodles for over 10 years and currently have three toy poodle furbabies and let me tell you they are the most intelligent dogs I have ever had and the most stubborn, opinionated, sassy, lovable furbabies ever.
i had a long-lived rescue toy and now have a rescue mini and a part poodle part something-or-other. (As well as a Chi and a rescue pug-thing). All my poodley dogs are scary-smart. They need lots of grooming and are ultra sensitive. Just awesome dogs.
💯 my standard is very opinionated on what food he should eat. He's very dramatic to the point he goes dramatic to pretend on throwing up just so he get me to make him his food from scratch. But they're very smart and loyal. They're very one human dog. I'm nit sure with others, but I've had a toy and now a standard. They're both just one human dog. And that's what I love with them.
my poodle has also conned me to cook for her. I found this video to be on point. Before even watching it i was like, owning her is like having a 2 year old its not a dog its a 2 yr old. She thinks of ways to mess with me for fun like babies do in boredom. It is a human baby. They are also very loyal velcro dog for sure. The expressive eyes very on point, she will guilt trip you and manipulate you with them.
My tutu red mini poodle is on point for these traits. Before i watched this, i had remarked owning her is like having a toddler. She, engages you to try to mess with you for fun, defying directives in challenge. Very stubborn. Like babies throwing over their cereal or doing something to get a reaction while laughing, learning, but using it for her amusement. Super expressive eyes like the side eye thing so correct she will look back, look up at you and side eye to manipulate in guilt. Lots of vocalizations, her bark is so interesting cuz it changes randomly like words. She has conned me to cook for her refusing to eat normal dog food. Uh, the pride walk, is very adorable. She looks so proper returning with her stick or ball during fetch head held high prancing. Like shes so proud she got it and retrieving it, her old job LOL. Very high energy dog. I do not know why they have reputation as a lap pet, this is the wrong dog for a lazy person.
I got a poodle because I had a very very socially intelligent mix of English shepherd and Great Pyrenees she did the side e y e thing. She would tease you to play Keep away. She was so animated that I thought if I got an intelligent dog like a poodle. That it might similar. I didn't want to go back to the same breed cuz. Seems she could never be replaced my new standard poodle is 6 months old. She has learned some good tricks but I think her brain is still developing she's not on top of all I wish you would be. But I will say she is smart and communicates in an amazing way she does little vocal trills rattles and really want something it's like a whistle and a rattle together. It's so cute!
i have a red mini poo who is literally a human toddler, high energy, messing with you for fun, stubborn, her barks are like babbling how varied they are. My sisters shi-poo is basically a human, she tells you what she wants. Shes older, and its like an old lady. The main difference with the mix is she isnt super high energy like the full bred poodle, who literally never wants to stop playing fetch and running around. But otherwise, both are human beings not dogs.

You forgot to mention, that poodles suffer from separation-anxiety more so than other dogs.
When I go out my poodle does not like it. But if I give her a nice treat and tell her I'm coming home soon, I come back to a nice tidy unthrased house
oh yes, if i return she cant contain her excitement. She is everywhere i go, bathroom doesnt matter.
