I have a 14 week old Toy poodle I've had for 6 weeks.. it's my first toy poodle and I'm so in love with her. She's so adorable and smart and cute.. everyone loves her when we go walking and she's very sociable with all dogs even a Pitbull! I don't care if she's needy and wants to be with me all the time because it's just us living together and I got her for my PTSD.. i need her as much as she needs me. So happy i got her and so much joy in my life. Lulu is her name.. ❤
My toy poodle is almost 8 mos old. Usually she is only left by herself when I go to church and Bible study several times a week. She is confined to my sitting room, where her toy basket and crate, with food bowl and water, and the love seat where we sit to read, play, or occassionally watch movies. She also has a potty pad in this room. I've noticed that she doesn't potty or move her toys while I'm gone. She is sometimes on her cushion, but usually is lying, where I sit on the loveseat, when I get home. I accustomed her, gradually, to my being gone, and she hasn't shone any signs of separation anxiety, thankfully. I totally agree with everything you said
Four months ago I became the new mom for a 5 yo Toy Poodle. The owners said they were becoming very busy with their kids’ activities to keep him. I soon found out he has severe separation anxiety just as you mentioned! He’s the most affectionate and people loving dog I have ever had! I take him everywhere I can and if he can’t go with me, he stays with a great apartment friend of mine. As much as he seems to love her, when I walk through her door, he jumps for joy and covers me with kisses! Your video is spot-on about them and filled with great advice. I’m subscribing with the hope of seeing more info about Toy Poodles!
I lost my Toy Poodle (Lola) in August. She was almost 17. She was awesome.... am still broken hearted over her. She was full of love and loved to play up to the last few months. Plan to get another someday when I am able to move forward.
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Lola. Losing our pets is never easy, and unfortunately, only time will help the grieving process. Feel better soon, and thanks for sharing!
I hear you. I lost my two little girls almost 2 years ago. Broke my heart. Only empty silence greeting me at the door. No begging for treats. No looking down to watch where you step. But I finally decided I could open my heart to another. She’s a joy. Doesn’t take the little girls’ place in my heart, but I’m looking down again.
Y los my coco last Memorial Day she was so beautiful always happy see stepped by my bed I had her for 14 years and 1/2 I miss her so much I still have 3 more Laika she’s 6 years old Frida she’s 2and GG she’s 16 months put she was very sick last month I thought she was going to die. She spent a week in the hospital she’s so tiny only 6 lbs
Sounds like she had a very good life and loved more than anything, May she rest peacefully. The pain of losing my best friend is definitely the most painful thing I’ve ever had to deal with. I’m still heartbroken after 8 years, I don’t break down as much as I use to but I can’t talk about him or have anyone else talk about him it just upsets me too much. Still haven’t been able to bring myself to get another. I don’t ever want to go through the heartache again. I made a deal with myself that I’d only get another if they present themself to me in a way I can’t say no, but I won’t go look for another Time never healed the grieving process for me.
I have a 20 1/2 year old Parti toy poodle . However, I've only had him for the past 7. I adopted him through a local rescue. Love him dearly. In the past few months, he's been showing symptoms of his advance years and seems to have lost weight off his already small frame. I know that chances are I will outlive him and I dread the day that I have to say goodbye. I will say that every poodle has their own personality though. He was already considered a senior when I adopted him. As such, since I've had him, he's never been interested in playing games or playing with toys. Even his previous owner, who I met when I adopted him, said he wasn't interested in toys. BTW, his previous owner could no longer keep him because she was going into assisted living. I love poodles and poodle mixes (had a Lhasapoo in my younger life).
Have been a devout Yorkie person all my adult life until I receive the toy poodle their personalities are so different my boy is 4 years old and he's like a toddler very smart very sweet very loving I think I'm a poodle person now
My Yara is 1 years old. I love her dearly! Toy poodle and yes any moment alone we miss each other I’m just as anxious to get back to her. I had to board her once and I’ll never do it again. She travels often now for that reason.
My poodles were introduced to my work routine from a young age. They adapt incredibly well. I do have a lady who walks them every day whilst I am at work.
YES HAVE A TOY POODLE.HER NAME IS MIRACLE .YOUR VIDEO IS AWESOME AND ALL YOU SAID IS SUPER TRUE. THANK YOU FOR SHARING...THUMBS UP AND LOVE FOR ALL TOY POODLES AND OTHER DOGS ALSO.
Yes! I am agree with everything the woman in this video says. I have my toy poodle and he is so delicates smart and very sociable boy I really feel totally in love with him. He stole my heart ❤️
Good video. We have 3 toy pooples, and they are amazing. Smart, funny, loving, and a joy to be with. Yes, they have bonded strongly with us. The males are 2 1/2, & 2, and the baby is an 11 month old female. They have all contected with each other. No issues at all. I also grew up as a kid with two toy male poodles, and they were also amazing. They are so smart it is amazing. Our one married daughter has two females, so when we poodle sit, we have 5 to watch. They all get along great, thank God!
We have a toy poodle for 5 years, there is no day past that he didn't removed the stress from us. As we gave him the center of our family for he is the boss, my daugther is her maid, my wife is his cook and I'm his driver.😅
I have a small mini poodle who is just how you described or toy poodles. I have never owned such an affectionate, or clever dog as her. She is very attatched to us, and while she loves family members who don’t live with us,,she is only really comfortable with us, so she comes with us 99% of the time.
You won’t regret it he will steal your heart I have had toy poodle for many years I also have German shepherds and my German shepherds are very protective of my poodle
I loved your video it so describes Angel , my fur baby he is just as depicted in the video. Watching this gave me more insight on his natural nature. Since I am home daily with him I notice that he feeds off of my energy and nature. Since he is an emotional support dog I take him everywhere I go so he is seldom left alone, and I can tell that any time I do leave him at home is shows me by his behavior. I look forward to watching and learning more about this special fur babies needs and ways to allow his transition from puppy to adulthood. Thank you so much. Linda
I love this Animal Digest, I have more than one dog, a chin, a toy poodle, and a toy cattle dog. All inter act with each other. the toys are a couple of months apart they both turned 1 this year, where the chin is 10 years old. We leave for a couple of hours to go grocery shopping or a movie, and when we come home, yes they are excited and we sit down and give them a lot of loves to let them know we missed them too. Then they get toys and want to play or just settle down and relax. My puppies exercise is chancing each other in the backyard (the puppies) there is a track that they run lol and it is funny. When we have friends over there is no loud noises and they have to greet the dogs at their level. We have a neighbor girl that comes over and greets the dogs and plays with them, while we babysit her.
I loved miniature poodle, he was so smart without the training, he not shreds, no smell. He loves salad cause I was vegetarian so he eats like me. He always with human 24/7 so he doesn’t know how to bark , he only wined when he wanted me to pick him up. Since he passed, I can’t get feeling for others dog. I love you Makorn forever
I'm glad to hear this happens I have brother n sister 10 week old..I work all day and have to for 2 more years..then I'll be home all the time w them...I don't want them to get aggressive😊
@@christylovetimmy5429I just spent 6 hours with a trainer who has a masters degree in animal behavioural science with 35 years experience and literally they said that the best thing to do is to leave them for extended periods of time, like when we work etc, so long as they are getting appropriate wee breaks for their bladder size outside. Definitely don’t beat yourself up about this, you’re actually getting the puppy accustomed when they are young and getting used to the world that they are alone for periods of time. It’s realistic and they learn to self soothe like the dogs above. It’s emotionally healthy. Pretty quickly they don’t yearn for constant attention because they haven’t learned that it is normal. Doesn’t make them any less emotionally attuned and lovely, they just can be independent too. Sorry to butt in, just wanted to say you have accidentally been doing what the experts recommend 👍🏼
You described my boy exactly. He's three years old and only really happy with me, his Mom.Luckily, I'm only really happy with him, but don't tell hid Dad! He's bright as a button and a joy to be around xxx
I am a toy poodle owner. My little girl just tuned 14 and she's still pretty active for her age. Her brother passed at 12, so the separation anxiety is a very real thing. All true statements in this video.
Doing my research before looking to invite a toy poodle into our family. Everyday I learn something new. Thanks for sharing an insightful video and also clearly these tips are accurate based on the comments! There is so much false information out there.
I had a miniature poodle and a toy poodle (17 years) growing up. I got a maltipoo that looks like a toy poodle except for her tail. She is 10 now. She is the best dog ever. Everyone in the extended family loves her and she is the only dog in the family welcome at all houses. Poodle❤
I had a wonderful female black tiny toy poodle. Her name was Tashi and she died November 2022 and my husband died March 5 of 2023 and then my mom died June 9, 2023. I want to a lot of I miss my little best friend I started looking to get one and be careful and don't get stamped. I did bad.!! try to use a reputable breeder check them out on Google and make sure that you get to go look at the dog now before you pay for it just don't do it online seriously don't unless it's the breeder!!
I am babysitting my daughter’s toy poodle long term because she is going to be out of the country for about a year. I love her so much. Since my daughter lives with me it wasn’t such a strain on Cocoa being left with me.
I love my poodle he’s a miniature and already 5 years old best behaved dog I’ve ever owned never been to a trainer. He’s not a one person dog he’s a family dog. I did encourage him to bond with everyone when I realized he was bonding to me only. I backed off a little and had him from personal connections with everyone. He is all about Brayan my son for play time and feels protected and at ease and looks for fun with my husband. He loves nana and finds peace and calmness with her. When he needs exercise or a walk or it’s bed time he clings to me. Also let’s me know when he is hungry or wants water. Also when he is sick he def. All over me let’s me know. He’s honestly my other child. Just better behaved child lol. My 12 year old son on the other hand is a handful. Lol
I have a toy poodle she be 13 this December she still playful people think she still acts as a young one so blessed she is my life hoping she got some years to go yet
I’ve been watching my family friends dogs for weeks at a time when he travels for work, and am a little worried they have bonded with me more than their owner… I also was there when he first got both pups, so they’ve known me since the beginning…. I honestly wish he’d just let me keep them both! I take the time to play with them, I make their food from scratch & have been the one to train (apparently they still have accidents when home, but never here!) I love waking up to tiny poodle shnuggles in the morning! I just hope they are happy at home too….
I had a toy/mini. 11lb. She was carried into a home with 3 standard poodles. She became the Alfa. She slept on my head her life of 18yr. and woke me trying to get her tongue in my mouth! What an alarm clock!!!🐩🐩🐩🐩 ❤
I am a toy poodle owner my guy is 11 years old. I got him at a breeder, he’s a smartest and the most lovable I spoil him because it’s just me and him❤.
Yes we resently have one and she's only 2 months old and it's our first time to have one we are 6 in the family and we love her so much but we still struggling how to handle her since she's so playful. So I'm looking forward for more videos for tips and techniques how to take care a toy poodle thank you
That is awesome! Subscribe and turn on bell notifications so you are notified when we upload a new video because there is more to come about the toy poodle.
I bring my toy with me everywhere I go I don't like leaving her alone. She behaves well in public and no one has an issue typically. she's actually adored by many. Poodles really are the best especially with lost of love.
I have a moyen poodle, and except for the delicacy of it's body, is temperamentally similar to the toy poodle. Thank you for this video, as it helps me understand some of her behaviors. I will now give her much more consideration toward her emotional nature.
Yes, they are so cute! I might get one when I’m older! But as a kid, for now, I have two golden doodles, one female black standard named Luna, and one male golden named Bailey ❤❤
I am a first time Toy Poodle rescue dog owner, I already have a rescue Minature Poodle. I was so pleased to read your article on Toy Poodles, I have Learnt a lot about them from it. I had quite a struggle when I got my Toy Poodle, the Miniature settled with me in no time. My Toy Poodle took much longer, after reading your arts I understand why. He is now my ' Velcro dog' if I leave him he screams the house down, he follows me everywhere. I have got used to his ways now and I love him to bits, he is my companion. Thank you for your excellent note on Toy Poodles. from Wendy.
I love my toy poodle, she always go whenever or wherever I go.... she thinks she is a human, and even wants to eat in the table while I'm eating too.....
Hi. Good video. I have brother and sister Toy poodles they love SO MUCH. so right about leaving them for 5 minutes. I am buying a dog pram or stroller and I can take them on the train. GO TOY POODLES.
I rescued a toy poodle a year ago, she is 10 yrs oldish . It hurts my heart when I hav to leave her home. There are often times I have no choice, I take her for a walk before and after always. She is pretty blind, I kno nothing of her history. My ❤️ now belongs to an 8 lb black furry baby 😊
QUESTION AT THE END. We have owned poodles for all ouR 50-year marriage - mostly miniatures. When we retired we got two standard poodles and rescued a Pyrenees. Man oh man, we had BIG fun. 12 years later we felt we should shift back to smaller dogs as our "leash arms" are less strong. The new miniature pup has given 90% of his affection to my husband - a true "bromance"! I'm on the list for the next silver toy. We've never owned a toy so I look forward to learning new things. There are owls galore in the neighborhood's big oaks and I'm concerned. We've always used dog doors but I'm thinking this won't be safe with birds of prey around. Hope other owners will give me advice and suggestions.
When I lived in Clermont county my brother got a toy poodle and he was so beautiful and smart then in 2003 I got a standard royal poodle and they got along like brothers and my standard royal poodle passed away of cancer after 8 years and the toy poodle died of a broken heart an old age
I had a Chihuahua that died 1/10/24 ,I am missing him so much so my son said I should get a toy poodle, because they don't shed and they are very loving
We have a toy poddle x shitzu but has more poddle in him, we had a litter of puppies but had to one back from the owner due to it begin badly treated, hes my dog and crys when I'm not around he loves my hubby to and if we go out he sits in the window until we come home, I swear when we talk to him he understands every word and moves his head to listen to us
How much is too long for a toy poodle? I have a family that plays a lot of sports and we are planning on getting a toy poodle. I want to know how long I can leave one so I can make sure to accommodate to its needs.
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mickey. Our pets do take a piece of our hearts when they leave for doggie heaven, and it is pretty recent, so I hope you are doing well. Thanks for sharing!
I have a 3 month old toy poodle, heck today he just chilled out why I played my singing bowls loud and gong . He went for his first walk on a lead today and was very good his very intelligent little guy I called him little John oh and his not a fussy eater my papillion is though
my family is getting a red toy poodle, so we were wondering would they get sad if we leave them alone for 7 hrs bc we have school for 7 hrs and our parents have work! would they be fine or what?

I have a new toy poodle my very first one I’ve had her for a week and I love her so much
I am babysitting my daughter’s toy poodle long term because she is going to be out of the country for about a year.

You are a great doggie sitter and auntie; thanks for sharing!

I bring my toy with me everywhere I go I don't like leaving her alone. She behaves well in public and no one has an issue typically. she's actually adored by many. Poodles really are the best especially with lost of love.

Thank you very much and God bless hope to hear from you soon
I have a moyen poodle, and except for the delicacy of it's body, is temperamentally similar to the toy poodle. Thank you for this video, as it helps me understand some of her behaviors. I will now give her much more consideration toward her emotional nature.

He is now my ' Velcro dog' if I leave him he screams the house down, he follows
me everywhere. I have got used to his ways now and I love him to bits, he is my companion. Thank you for your excellent note on Toy Poodles.
from Wendy.

Yes my baby girl name is Daisy and she’s the best love her!!
