Probably one of the best perfumes ever created. Pure Tonka is a masterpiece.
YES
Pure Tonka is a true masterpiece in Gourmand fragrance making. It smells like a very expensive Italian mom and pop bakery at 6;30 in the morning. It is absolutely amazing in its structure and it NEEDS to be brought back!! ASAP. If you enjoy the smell of an exclusive high end bakery that specializes in deserts THIS is your scent. It does NOT smell like a Starbucks....Its something you only smell when the bakers are using Expensive Organic ingredients Its a 5/5!

My Top three AMen flankers (in no order) are Malt, Havane and Tonka; oddly I don't like the original as much, even though its DNA is still quite prominent in each, just augmented perfectly in those flankers.
Pure malt is great scent I've just started getting into mugler fragrances and love them. Just whish they would bring back pure coffee and ultra zest so I can at least buy them let alone smell

I'm so pleased you like this one! It's my favourite of the A*Men line that I own, by quite a margin, yet it doesn't get nearly as much praise as I think it should. 8.5/10 from me.

I'm glad to see you enjoying the some of the same fragrances I enjoy. You really made me think about other fragrances I've enjoyed differently. Woke me up from being too safe with some of these boring fragrances. I have reached outside of the mainstream box but probably not as much as I should have. Thanks for showing me another way to look at fragrances.

Yay !!! I’m glad you like it . I find pure tonka to be a unisex scent and love it . I love moisturizing with cocoa butter to add a layer of cocoa scent

I only have 3 from Muggler and this one is my favorite of the 3. Other two are Kryptomint and Ultra Zest. Good review 👍🏼
Everybody wants to talk about pure havane and pure malt, and I have both which I enjoy, but Pure Tonka has always been my favorite Mugler.... other than Oriental Express from their Les Exceptions line.. but that is out of my budget, but it is absolutely amazing. Great video.

@@mpclive5693 unfortunately, no. I am a bit of a jerk. I only blind buy easy to get frags for my husband. For myself, I will hunt down a rare one I've never smelled and get it if the notes sound on point for me. Lol

Pure Malt is my favourite from A*Men. And everybody gives me compliments when I am with it.

I own Pure Tonka, and to me it smells like breakfast or a cafe. It doesn't smell like any one thing in particular, but more like a blend of cappuccino, pancakes, syrup, etc that gives it that vibe. It's really nice.

Really great video as always Aaron. It's really interesting you say it reminds you of something By Killian might make because the original A*men and By Killian intoxicated are compared to each other a lot. It would be good to see you compare those two side by side.
Can I ask, is there any chance you will be doing 10ml size of Arabica?
chefnick861 this is a version of killian without naturals. The 10ml have to have boxes and I have to buy 1000 boxes at a time. It’s all expensive I’m afraid
Not tried this one, sounds absolutely lovely mate 🙂 🦄 I do love a smokey fragrance too so that would be a great idea. Some of the others from the line I've tried are great too 🙂
PURE MALT/PURE LEATHER
Another more oriental Attar like blend I would make would be: coffee or tonka, rose and obviously oud, all sweetened up with some vanilla.

I love this fragrance. Yes, it's marketed towards men but I feel like I can pull it off. One spray maybe two is just enough for me. It's been part of my winter line up for a couple of years now. I also prefer to wear A'Men to Angel.

This is my favourite designer fragrance (i've got 2 backup bottles) i was actually braced for you to hate it because its synthetic, so i'm surprised. Also shocked you mentioned Kilian because my favourite niche fragrance is Black Phantom, although i only have one bottle of that. I'm not sure what it is about Pure Tonka but i find it very calming.

Mine are my favourite. But Black orchid is my most favourite then the Killian ones are also good. But this is right up there

By the way I've tried almost all of Muglers fragrances and this is top 5. My favorites are Pure Havanne and Pure Coffee (which doesn't get much love but I find it underrated). It is closer to Pure Tonka but a bit more darker and chocolatey to me.

It might surprise you, but it still can be found these days (2023) in duty free stores for a reasonable price. If you see it, grab it immediately.

Pure Havanne is my favourite from this line but I really like the Angel DNA. Your neck tattoo is quality btw.

More than the bottle itself I don't like the rubber atomizer button, makes it feel cheap.

You say this was reformulated. I don't think the one I have contained Mint,I bought it when first released like 3 years ago . It is sweet, warm and quite a dark fragrance in its dry down, it is very strong,beast mode, as they say. A perfect winter fragrance.
Sometimes if the notes are not clear on the site I have to go to base notes or that other site beginning with F. There are uneducated people with no skill saying things. I was silly and looked at there views. Shouldn't of really!!! There views mean nothing and are worthless

Seriously though try LP no.9 for men by Pengaligons, it's one of my hidden gems that when I wear it people say it's nice but quite different and I F**k**g love that.

I would mix the exact 3 accords you mentioned: coffee or tonka, rose and a sweet smoky woody spicy base, perhaps frankincense tobacco vanilla. But I wouldn't add patchouli too, because we already have a dark note (coffee / tonka). This would smell like a smoking vampire having a nice cup o coffee 😄
