I turned 30 back in April and I definitely faced some anxiety over aging. It's normal, especially for women, to worry about their fading appearances as they get older especially if you are lucky enough to enjoy natural good looks in your prime. I think not worrying about it and taking care of yourself (maintaining healthy habits, not stressing, etc.) will lead you to aging gracefully with less drastic changes to your complextion.

Turning 30 in a little more than a month. and found out my 34 year old sis gets botox. The most thing I hate about getting older, is seeing 25 year old jumping on the botox wagon, and whatever else they are doing (face sculpting?) ... which means, no matter how much I take care of myself, I will not be considered as looking good for my age, because I dont have Face Fillers. 😑

My brother gets Botox to treat MS. His neurologist said that they were the first to use it, not dermatologists. I would never get it myself. In my humble opinion, people have developed a pathological fear of aging, and there is nothing on this earth that will stop you from getting older. That aside, it's very disturbing to be talking to someone whose face doesn't move.

yeah you see it in a bit of a drastic way lol ok you cant stop aging but you can drastically slow it down... how? eating antioxidants exercising is a huge factor and having a clean diet together with eating less sugar then moisturizing your skin, using the right skincare, retinol ect and sure botox. So yeah you can chose the way you want to age and look decades younger. I chose this way. Its everybodys choice how they want to age and I don't knock down one way or another. We all have our own picture on how we want to treat our mind, body and beauty but I think its just esthetically nicer to have less wrinkles but that's just me and I'm a girl/woman so yeah I think thats natural lol but each to each own. Some people scratch off botox but want later on a facelift which you may get around with if you do use botox or similar...besides you said its scary if you talk to someone and their face wont move well yeah you can get injections that do look natural its just about picking the right surgeon

I wish i could like this video x 100 times! More people need to be having this conversation and the risks need to be spread to everyone. Even more important than the risks is the toxic effect fillers and botox are having on our minds. Women are feeling social pressures to get it and look a certain way. It's unnatural for us not to age and we need to start embracing our wrinkles and sagging and loving ourselves for what we are. Aging is a gift that not everyone has the luxury of receiving...humans would do well to remember that. 💕

My first and last time getting this toxin almost killed me and it took me several years to recover. The black box warning specifically states it can migrate to other parts of the body, which of course injectors don’t want to tell their clients. People need to realize this is the most lethal neurotoxin on the planet that they are injecting into their body. And trust me, Allergan, the ER, and your injector won’t be able to do anything to help you when there are side effects. I turned 40 in January and got Botox for the first time in August as I also have very deep vertical forehead lines. I actually really like the results! But I do think it's important to realize this can be a "gateway drug" and to be really mindful of that! The cost is a definite factor in deciding how often to get Botox too - I'm hoping to keep those forehead lines at bay without overdoing it!

It's possible to train yourself to GENTLY use your forehead muscles so that you can show/feel expression while minimizing the development of grooves as time goes by. When I was young (I'm 53 now), I would over exaggerate my forehead expressions which was causing grooves horizontally across my forehead and vertically above my nose. I trained myself to GENTLY show expression in my forehead. The grooves lessoned a bit and seem to be developing at a slower rate. Of course, NOTHING stops aging if we live long enough!

A very refreshing perspective on a trend I think has gone dangerously too far…For all the reasons you mentioned and as a mother of a little girl, I often wonder what impact it would have on my daughter if she were to see me pursuing various unnecessary invasive procedures to alter or “slow” the aging process. With the current mental health crisis, in particular in young people, it seems people are looking for happiness in all the wrong places…all these impossible unnatural images and expectations being circulated seems like one of the areas (albeit one of many) to start…I so love your friend’s suggestion of what if we all just collectively agreed to STOP these unnecessary procedures, how refreshing would it be for everyone (and how much more time and money people would have! 😂)

I'd love to see a video for fillers. Those in my opinion are definitely more problematic and apparently addictive, with the most visible changes. I see young girls using them and forgetting what they initially looked like. I'm 45 and I wasn't completely immune to the allure in my mid 30's. But I only tried once and hated the effect (gladly now disappeared).
Regarding botox, I found my balance and I'm happy with it. I only do it max twice per year or less, usually every 8 months. And only on my crows feet. The forehead is still OK because I use, tretinoin (prescribed for acne at age 29) and tca peels that take care of my skin elasticity so I don't have wrinkles on the forehead. I don't like getting botox so I ask for the minimal quantity to just weaken a little bit the muscle, not completely freeze it. This way I spend less, I prevent the wrinkles in my eye area but I keep my expression almost intact (I mean the expression is actually the same as when I was younger, nothing really have changed).
I do believe cosmetic procedures if done properly and not overdone or getting obsessed over, are OK. Especially botox. I travel a lot in under developed countries and some years I couldn't get botox, no biggie. I was always careful with my sunscreen and it wasn't the end of the world. Moderation is key! Cheers

I love it. Makes me feel better but I do know eventually I will stop it as I am only getting older and I refuse to look fake. I only get a little on my forehead. Will never touch my crows. Only get it from licensed nurses and doctors. It is a drug to prevent more riskier and costly procedures or at least to push them to later.

Very well researched! I've also had Botox twice in the past (adds up to 4 times if including the top-up a week later). I'm lucky enough not to have had it done recently as I'm nearly 45 and that's when it gets risky for eye drooping: collagen is lost when the muscle can't move, but research thinks it might be due to from what the toxin is secreting. Stimulating collagen would be an alternative to Botox, such as the Plasma Pen (on forehead lines or fractional tip all over the forehead), laser resurfacing, Ultheraphy/HIFU, and retinoids.

My face is not moving right now because I got my lower left wisdom teeth removed, and they put so much anesthesia, so that it would not hurt, and they didn't tell me until the end, that I might develop parasthesia. I hope it's temporary, the first 2 nights, I could not even brush my teeth. Don't judge me, the inside of my mouth was completely numb, and the toothbrush would not fit or move, it's hard to explain, but you get the point.

Usually before a wedding, a cruise or another event with no problems, but the last few times I had it I've felt a lot of pressure in my sinus area, post headaches and the botox only seemed to diminish my lines and did not freeze them smooth. But the biggest thing that happened on my last botox (7mos ago), I felt super dizzy after words. Never have I felt that before and I had to stay at the medi spa until I felt a little better & could drive home. Thank you doctor for this video. It all makes sense & I now have decided to dump botox for good. Using my home devices (micro-current, ultrasound, laser) are actually working just as well. PS: I did fillers too but gave those up years ago because I wasn't seeing much difference, at all, especially for the price.

maybe looking into what you are eating could help you. I.e. eating lots of sugar can really age you, or not getting all necessary vitamins/minerals. At your young age it might really help cleaning up your diet and getting regular exercise 😊

You could also just do what I do - actively not raise your eyebrows or learn to smile by just lifting the corners of your closed mouth. Control + skinscare/sunscreen = no wrinkles!

Even if these products were free I personally am concerned about injecting a known toxin in my face unless it were truly needed. If I were working in Hollywood and my face was my moneymaker, maybe so, but I want to embrace getting older with acceptance. Thank you for your honesty. No judgements to anyone who does these types of treatments. We all deserve to make informed choices

I get Botox every 9-10 weeks and I’ve done it for 2 years. There’s nothing wrong with my face, my muscles, skin or my nerves. I don’t look weird, fake or plastic and I have no issues what so ever. Nothing is temporary as long as you continue doing it. I’ll never stop. I’m able to work, earn adequate income and live a normal life with my Botox treatments against severe migraine. Also I have lots of facial fat and I look 10 years younger than I am. This is propaganda to scare people.

My mom got it in the back of her upper shoulders for years to treat her dystonia. It was incredibly beneficial on so many levels.

I love Botox lol. But, I only do it twice a year! I also use NuFAce, and use Retinol. I spend a fortune on really good skincare products. And Sunscreen!!!! Number one thing for me! Im 54, and people think Im in my 30’s. Thank you for this! New follower!
